robonski16: pls o i am not his excellency sir i am robonski... add one sachet of chloraphenical and tetracycline in each pond and don't feed them for that day.. abt the salt u should be very careful when applying.. take a handful of salt and sprinkle it on each pond.. i hope it helps

My PROBLEM now is that majority of them re just hanging. When I touch them they move please I want to know why they are hanging and how to cure them

robonski15: You are very correct!!! The third week is what I call the CAREFUL week..this is the time most hatchers dread the most.. What I do at the third week is dat I carefully clean the ponds, change the water then I add chloraphenical and tetracyclin with a bit of salt.. U have to be very careful when applying the salt..

I leave them till the next day without feeding..ur water must be clean at all times especially dis period.. Then the next day u start feeding them minimally.. And most importantly "PRAY"

excelsiorfarm: normally u should get 10% of the body weight for eggs, concerning fries, u dont count yr fries until u raise them, from a 1.5kg fish u can get 20000 or more,even 1000 or less, that is reality,ask those that will tell u d truth, it depends on d quality of broodstock,your hatchery technique & mgt, it is best u use at least 1.5kg-2.5kg for easy manipulatn,can use bigger size if u have experience, though at times they mess up.
