Business / Re: Ecobank Return My Money!! by mikkytrio(m): 7:22pm On Feb 16, 2017
Hi Guys,

After 16 days of visiting the bank at almost a daily interval to get more stories to post, the bank finally returned the money this evening.
With this development, I strongly would wish a forum / thread could be built on this issue. Where we could work out options and proffer advises.
Business / Re: Ecobank Return My Money!! by mikkytrio(m): 1:33pm On Feb 14, 2017
Thanks for your response @Madlin and @AdaAnambra.

I am waiting for the 48 hours to elapse. Then I can repost the status of these payments, but on a general note is there no platform in Nigeria where such can be reported to? Because, I was meant to understand that transactions involving less than a million Naira cannot be handled by EFCC or ICPC. If no then I must say we are in a serious mess.

The part that really is irritating is the fact that a customer care agent could hang up on an aggrieved customer.

tr3y:
Just tell us how much did boomshakalala paid you for this advert?

maybe she paid you with something else in which case tell her I also want to promote boomyakataba.

Sorry tr3y,
I am not hating or anything but please, do understand the person's point before attacking the person.
Some of us have noticed our fellow nairalanders (@dhtml18) for at least over a decade. So do attack the topic not the person.

Thanks.

Business / Ecobank Return My Money!! by mikkytrio(m): 6:19pm On Feb 13, 2017
Good day Nairalanders,

The intent of my post is not to insult or embarrass any person or group of persons, but to enlighten you on a situation I feel is worth sharing.
FEB 1st 2017 I was credited by a Bank's ATM, whilst I never was paid. I complained on that same day to the customer care representatives of my bank (ECO - BANK) on-line, they promised to return the funds within 5 - 7 working days.

Today happens to be the 8th working day, 12 days away from the reported date and all I can get from Eco bank is to give them more 48 hours to resolve the issue. I tried calling the customer care number +234700 500 0000, but to my surprise after lodging my complaint they totally have barred all my calls.

The money might be little and not of much value to a lot of people, but please, can someone point me to an authority that looks into such?

I can only but imagine how many people / families suffer such maltreatment, and wish to ask that we figure out a way to curb such rot.
Webmasters / Re: Is Smartweb.com.ng A Scam Or A Real Hosting Agency by mikkytrio(m): 8:51pm On Apr 08, 2016
coolsix:
hmmm.... I cannot vouch for any Web Hosting company in Nigeria

It really is embarrassing when we have very beautiful and talented set of young aspiring developers, whaling away talents cause of these so called hosts.
Webmasters / Re: Is Smartweb.com.ng A Scam Or A Real Hosting Agency by mikkytrio(m): 6:22pm On Apr 07, 2016
@Destined2win, I respect the fact that they (smartyweb.com.ng) have a customer care unit that tells you your problem has been solved only for your site to go on and off.
Being real means offering the service / services as promised. Not part of the service, I believe that is what hosting companies are to offer. Not to bloat over foreign companies, but it really is disheartening when your client calls you in the middle of a presentation to tell you that your website is off. Better companies apologise before hand, averting you embarrassment and instilling confidence in you when responding to customer complaints, because you do not only know what went wrong but also for how long.

@Destined2win I highly advocate for Nigerian products, but when we see errors in them, its only right; we call them out and allow the company / (ies) work on their flaws or not promise offers they cant afford to meet up to.
Webmasters / Is Smartweb.com.ng A Scam Or A Real Hosting Agency by mikkytrio(m): 4:03pm On Apr 07, 2016
Good day,

I am a computer engineer and I happen to be a co-founder of an i.c.t. startup in Nigeria. With the new #buyNaijaGrowTheNaira we opted to move our services to Nigerian hosting companies. Our choice came down to Smartweb.com.ng, and the regrets, downtimes and even things as simple as the captured screen attached were issues we faced while we have (because we are still working on transferring our domain, still with drama) our hosting with them. I am not here to openly point a woe to them, but as a community I thought it wise to share this knowledge to avoid other webmasters from suffering avoidable issues such as this.

Please, if you have other options for hosting that can guarantee quality and service, my team and I would be really grateful to use their / its service.

Thanks

Computers / Re: Nigeria Ranked Sixth In Internet Security Threat by mikkytrio(m): 9:50pm On Dec 29, 2013
Please, I would love to understand this post. It is confusing when you state that we are third in africa and then state again that we are sixth, what position are we? Because I sometimes refer to nairaland for a few pointers.
Computers / Airlines E Ticket Payment System Scam by mikkytrio(m): 5:37pm On Oct 22, 2012
Please, I would love to ask and make comments as regards to the e-payment system proposed and supposedly implemented by the airlines ran in nigeria. Whilst writing this I await a ticket case to be resolved at Namdi Azikiwe Airport.
I purchased a ticket bound for lagos mma2 from abuja, I made the payment via the advised atm payment option. After doing so almost 12 hours ago, and getting confirmation from my bank about same time. The airline claims not have seen the payment confirmation on their system while I have a copy of one they sent to me. Is the slimtrader option a scam? Or just a bunch of criminals because my flight has long gone.

Meaning more governors to sweep more money. More states has never created jobs nor brought food to our tables, dumb ideas from dumb leaders.
Politics / Re: Wole Soyinka Opposes UNILAG/MAU Renaming by mikkytrio(m): 2:56am On May 31, 2012
It is really a shame when you see a nation supposed to be geared towards greatness heading towards doom, and when one man sees and tells you where doom road leads we kill and bury his ideas with angering words. You name a school after a thief (with no disrespect to the family), give no sense of honor to teachers (guidians to the future), students (leaders of tomorrow, that is if there is any for us 'Nigerians'). Them some dumb humans go support you and call the tenant (GEJ) the landlord. we put him there with our supposed votes. He definatly cannot wake up one day fronm the wrong side of his bed and name a school of his choosing a name of his desires. Please, lets wake up the school needs more than a name it needs more facilities to enhance education. let a dog be called by its name and not made to look good.
Have we not being fooled enough? or what can the new name offer the students? outright stupidity we accept and paint white. Forgiving nation with bright and wise youth mis led by hoodlums and confused animals, dressed as the government. This is so apaulling!.

Programming / Re: Owl Dl Reasoner by mikkytrio(m): 2:35am On May 31, 2012
@ futherxxx thanks, I actually am to implement a new operator since it has the a and k operators. I really would love to get my hands on a detailed written tableau algorithm, because papers I am getting on them are not really helping matters. The java part I can say its not a problem, I am good at it to my knowledge. We can pm so that we can share ideas on what I am talking about in details if thats okay by you. @fayimora 'futherxxx' kinda hit the nail in, but can explain futher if need be. And much love & respect for the show of interest. I really do appreciate the response(s).

Please, seeking advice from niaraland programmers. I am having a serious headache getting my eyes around pellet codes. Is there anyone who can infer me to how a reasoner is being built. I really would be grateful for any help or advice.

Programming / Re: Timetabling App by mikkytrio(m): 2:15am On Mar 04, 2012
Okay the sharing is done this way
1. each department has about 17 courses and two levels i.e. year 1 and 2. Year 1 has 7 courses 4 compulsory and 3 alternative courses. 6 are to be offered by a student for the semester. then the remaining 10 / 11 courses are to be offered by the 2nd year students. 2 compulsory and the rest are to be taken as alternative courses, 6 in total are to be offered. and all courses are to be offered in one week.
2. A lecturer cannot be assigned more than 3 courses per semester.

I hope that clears / answers your questions
Programming / Re: Timetabling App by mikkytrio(m): 9:00pm On Mar 03, 2012
@dell_net: I have thought of the A.I. part, but I guess having both concepts here would still be a good bargain.
Programming / Re: Timetabling App by mikkytrio(m): 8:59pm On Mar 03, 2012
@naija_swag: Thanks for your advice, but presently that is off the scope of my question. Although if you have any idea of how interfaces like skype and msn messenger are built in java or visual c++. I would not mind learning a thing or two from you in that aspect, but I guess that is for another day or thread.
Programming / Re: Timetabling App by mikkytrio(m): 8:53pm On Mar 03, 2012
Thanks guys.
@prodam:
The demo app should be able to handle
1. 192 courses (which are divided into core and electives and varying lecture hours)
2. 11 departments (which are divided into 4 faculties)
3. 23 Lecturers.
4. 30 lecture halls with varaying capacities.
5. the courses are taught from mon - fri (09:00 - 17:00) daily.
Please do feel free to add up ideas in your algorithm.
