nkwuocha: Sometimes in April and Hotel Rwanda are films that tries to reveal the genocides carried out in Rwanda. It's a clear reminder that genocide is a crime against God and humanity, something the Nigeria government sees otherwise. They not only removed BIAFRA war from history, they also tried to stop and censored the BIAFRA film that featured chiwetal Ejiofor.
What are they trying to hide? The genocide against igbos are in our folktales and Legends. I will tell same tale to my children and grandchildren. They must know and bear it in their hearts that there must be a price to pay to bring vengeance upon the killers of their ancestors.
They must know that their forefathers were rounded up in camps and shot dead by the Nigerian soldiers. They must know that children were starved to death. They must know that their mothers were raped, their foetus snatched off their bellies with swords. They must know that their ancestors were buried alive. They must not forget how Benue citizens butchered and slaughter families who are running from the north to Enugu through Benue. They should remember that their women who refused to be sex slaves have their vagina riddled with bullets.
God cannot be fooled. There must be a price to pay. And truth to his word he kept many of those evil men alive to see this day.
Time shall tell. shey you will remind them that it was 4 of yours tha started the killing? na begining of war we de sabbi, not the end |

omohayek: The old man is simply speaking the truth. no he isn't It takes a lot of money to run an effective political campaign, takes resources not money especially in a country like Nigeria, where voters care more about who is sharing rice on election day than they do about political philosophies or track records. they only care about rice when they know that both candidates hv no record or philosophy People making references to America to dispute the man are simply speaking from rank ignorance, as American politics at the presidential level is by far the most expensive in the world; the real difference between America and Nigeria is that in the USA, there are at least a few limits on how much individuals can contribute to any given political campaign (even if said limits are too weak to stop individuals like the Koch Brothers or Sheldon Adelson from being kingmakers), aka same noni so American political parties are funded primarily through the small donations of ordinary people, hahahaha stop dreaming while in Nigerian politics the masses pay nothing to support any of the parties, and they correspondingly have no influence on how they are run. who lose eni n wafa n wofo good soup na moni kill am If you can't get your funding from the Nigerian masses, what choice do you have but to turn to rich godfathers, must you 'fund'? unless you are rich yourself, and how many rich Nigerians are there who haven't made their money through "chopping" government funds in some way, even if disguised as "contracts" or whatever? This is where corruption inevitably enters the system, and things only get worse when you take into account all the traditional rulers and "opinion makers" who claim to be able to deliver the votes of entire communities, they can be bypassed not easy but possible and want to be paid well for doing so: satisfying this latter group was the big reason behind the whole "Dasukigate" scandal in the first place.
Sowore is trying to bypass all of these issues by raising money online through GoFundMe and other such venues, but will the Nigerian diaspora fund his effort enough for it to be effective, can he convince them to trust him? na former SUG president o another set of crook especially in the face of the many avenues for looting available to incumbents under Nigeria's current setup? This is the big question whose answer remains to be seen. yes it does |

better enter farm and stop comparing yourself to the elite deepwater: You have done well my sister
However it is a pity you have raised high the flag of a nation that always put its own down at default level.
Let's take this world champ as an example - Blessing Oborududu, 29-year old Niger Delta University undergraduate.
Before her graduation it is already know that she can not even go for NYSC, she would be exempted at best
Knowing fully well that NYSC discharge certificate is more valued in Nigeria than your actual degree certificate and the exemption certificate is written over age all over it, which is a very good recipe the employer of labour use to reject fresh graduates.
I wonder who makes these rules in Nigeria, latest I hear of now is 24yr with masters ? Could they have done this some 17years ago? Just tell the masses only private uni guys get the jobs and the rest goes for Npower
Please don't quote me about entrepreneurship, the political rulers done have their wards in that stuff. They are the ones sitting at the corner office looking at you from a distance with your 20years job experience and still scrabbled like four to one desk with dividers... |

mekaboy: I know many thought that it would be 2015 elections that will break Nigeria as predicted. However, Jonathan being on the side of Nigeria, decided to avert bloodshed.
Also because we in the South are not use to bloodshed and violence.
But 2019 might be the year. The North believes it is their turn to produce the president even if Nigeria has to be destroyed due to incompetence of their choice.
However there are different categories of voters in 2019.
1) those that will vote based on religion and ethnicity.
2) those that will vote based on their popular party candidate.
3) those that will vote based on merit, past experience and ability of the candidate to deliver. These ones are tired and will vote anyone from anywhere to bring back hope to Nigeria
On a normal day, first and second group decides who wins the elections.
Now if the North fields Buhari who is now unpopular because his incompetence is now glaring in APC.
And PDP goes to recycle another old person from the North. This might increase the numbers of the 3rd group of voters.
Somehow someway, the 3rd category outnumbered 1 and 2 , a southerner who is qualified wins. The North will then engage in violence, which might lead to serious retaliation.
Under Jonathan, most Nigerians were a bit comfortable and not ready for violence.
Now, many have lost jobs, businesses, loved ones and are frustrated. They might not take any violent attack from the North lightly if they loose.
I advice the North to choose their candidate wisely, The time of NEPA certificate has past. but if they field a wrong candidate and Nigerians reject him, they should know that nobody has monopoly of violence. Nigerians wen no wan die.de dream de go |

Webmasters › Re: Uganda Plans Tax On Social Media Use From July by mikolo80: 9:25pm On Apr 13, 2018 |
Nanabaffour: Uganda plans to slap a new tax on social media users from July to raise revenue, which human rights activists denounced as another attempt by President Yoweri Museveni to stifle freedom of expression and quash dissent to his 32-year-rule. The move is unlikely to go down well in a country where more than 40 percent of people use the internet. Data costs in Africa are already among the world’s highest, according to digital advocacy group World Wide Web Foundation.
Finance Minister Matia Kasaija told Reuters in a phone interview that the tax will charge each mobile phone subscriber using platforms such as WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook 200 Ugandan shillings ($0.027) per day. He dismissed concerns it could limit people’s use of the internet.
“We’re looking for money to maintain the security of the country and extend electricity so that you people can enjoy more of social media, more often, more frequently,” he said. Human rights activists begged to differ, and some took to social media to criticise the proposal.
“It’s part of a wider attempt to curtail freedoms of expression,” Rosebell Kagumire, a human rights activist and blogger, said.
Of Uganda’s 41 million people, 23.6 million are mobile phone subscribers and 17 million use the internet.
Kasaija said the proposal, to be included in the budget for fiscal 2018/19 starting in July, had been sent to parliament this week for review after the cabinet approved it. The government blocked access to Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp during the last general election in 2016, a move used by other entrenched rulers in Africa in response to grassroots movements against them.
Among other governments in East Africa moving to regulate internet use, Tanzania introduced a law last month requiring any citizen operating a blog or website to pay an annual licence fee of 1 million Tanzanian shillings ($440). ($1 = 3,690 Ugandan shillings, 2,261 Tanzanian shillings) (Additional reporting and writing by Omar Mohammed Editing by Maggie Fick and Hugh Lawson)

Adieza: 1. The Netherlands is 22 times smaller than Nigeria. 2. They have 17 million people living there. 3. There are 6 states in Nigeria bigger than the Netherlands and Niger state is almost double in size. That small the country is.
4. They feed themselves, and last year exported over $90 billion worth of food. 5. That is about 3 times Nigeria oil revenue. Funny enough, black people used to think agriculture was their thing since they didn't produce any technology.
Many people don't realize how sorry our situation is. Before, there was no money. But today there is so much money out there that we cannot even use the money available in the world to develop Nigeria. You don't really need government money these days to develop a country. The government just need to make life easy for people with money to come and use their money to develop the country. This is a very difficult notion for African leaders to understand.
Today, African governments are the biggest enemies of their own people.
