Besides your theories, one major reason is the changing world of women in Nigeria. Before now, women were subservient and obey and fear her husband mumuishly. Men then provides solely for their homes and women are forced to keep quiet to avoid beatings at any slightest provocation.

Now, women have education and have learned to make their own money. They talk wen hubby mess up or make foolish decisions. Insecure men are no longer able to tolerate their challenge, so they abuse them just so to keep them quiet.

I play volleyball and when I look at players at the national level, I weep for Nigeria. These are players who can't even stand close to ordinary state players in most northern states.

Dude!! I am still upset! We are nothing but a bonus for Australians and The New Zealanders. It’s such a shame! I also bought a ticket to watch the female boxing and it was nothing but a disappointment. Imagine Nigeria bringing an 18 yo inexperienced boxer to fight a 33 yo Australian boxer with track records. Shittt I had the Nigerian flag in my pocket all through - what a shame. Only the table tennis team made us proud and earned us the first silver medal alongside Chukwuebuka who also earned us a silver medal in the men shot put. I would love to meet that dude!!

Thank God our Para weight lifters earned us Gold and Silver in a row.

You see those basket ball team need to be ashamed of themselves - bunch of losers. They are not good at all! All my kiwi friends have laughed me tire! They have the perfect physique but have zero skills. I personally know some street basket ballers in Nigeria that would easily defeat New Zealand. Go to Mile 2, pick stars and train them.
