Uganda is landlocked, their sea imports comes through Mombasa port, Kenya and cargo them to Uganda through trucks. Kenyan government had an agreement with Ugandan government to extend their rail line up to their border with Uganda, while Uganda government continue from there to their inland container centre. I remember Ugandans making jokes that Kenya should build the rail lines beyond the border and into Uganda, after all Nigeria is building same in Niger Republic,
