The US doesn't joke with all the Amendments. Its a constitutional Right that no judge or executive can trample upon . Granting citizenship to those born in the US is in the 14th amendment. It'll take another amendment to erase it and that's no easy fit. To the best of knowledge , the last amendment was in 1997 |

Foreign Affairs › If You're Born In America You're American - Nancy Pelosi by Minjim(op): 7:57am On Jan 25, 2025 |
Former US House speaker, Nancy Pelosi has reacted to a federal judge blocking President Donald Trump’s order seeking to end birthright citizenship for children of migrants.
Recall that on Monday, January 20, President Trump after his swearing-in, invoked his presidential orders to begin his long-touted immigration crackdown.
He signed an executive order, ending birthright citizenship for babies born to a mother and father who are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. However, on Thursday, U.S. District Judge, John C. Coughenour issued a ruling, temporarily blocking President Trump's executive order that aimed to end birthright citizenship for children born to migrants in the U.S. temporarily or without legal status.
Coughenour issued the temporary restraining order after a hearing in Seattle. The judge signed the temporary restraining order in response to a lawsuit brought by Oregon, Arizona, Illinois, and Washington state, one of several suits opposing the administration's effort to curb the right of citizenship for anyone born on U.S. soil. In the courtroom in downtown Seattle, Coughenour interrupted the attorney for the Justice Department, Brett Schumate, to tell him how unconstitutional he thinks the administration's order is. I've been on the bench for four decades, I can't remember another case where the question presented is as clear as this one is," Coughenour said, describing Trump's order as "blatantly unconstitutional." https://x.com/SpeakerPelosi/status/1882534294893305906?t=pGxFKEVZap3h-C54BLkljg&s=19

Foreign Affairs › Re: "Return Of The Village Idiot": What A British Newspaper Called Trump by Minjim: 11:44am On Jan 24, 2025 |
DeLaRue: It is not easy to win a defamation case in the UK, and Mr Trump will have to be present in the UK court as a witness in his own case.
And I believe the newspaper probably has enough material to support their headline.
A UK court may well rule that a man is INDEED A VILLAGE IDIOT if he wants to forcefully take a foreign territory (Greenland) and another country's infrastructure (Panama Canal), grab, seize and detain illegal migrants including little babies and their mothers from inside Churches, Schools etc
Is such a character a Saint or a Village idiot? Easy answer for most sensible people. Moreover, an idiot is simply someone fond of making too many bad decisions |

And give them long range weapons to launch missile strikes inside Washington, just like they're doing to Ukraine.
Tit for Tat.
Trump is already preparing to send troops to invade and annex a portion of Mexican lands, under the guise of "fighting drug cartels". All these can't work. the US isn't Russia where one Loose canon calls the short. The US is highly democratic with a strong separation of power . Trump can't do all these things listed without getting impeached. |
Politics › Re: Portugal Turns To Nigeria For Natural Gas To Reduce Russian Dependency by Minjim: 10:13pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
femisplash: A lot of people are all too bothered about food inflation than the prospects of government policies in other critical sectors, one of which is a deliberate efforts towards gas revolution which obviously is attracting the attention of the global community. Hopefully, Nigeria could be the next big global gas market for supply to Europe as more European countries turn the attention to African gas. On Jan 1st, Ukraine turned off the taps to Russian gas within its territory, thereby impacting s huge blow to Russia's supplies.
Russia is estimated to lose an average of $5billion annually, Ukraine too is not that exempted as it loses an annual transit fee of $1billion. Interestingly, Russia has only one stream left, which is the TurkStream, the other one was also paralyzed in the ongoing war, the NordStream came under attacks and has been shut down ever since. Nigeria could take advantage of this unprecedented challenges by accelerating the Nigerian- Morroco gas pipeline deal. This would reposition Nigeria as an emerging market.
But then again, there's a small matter of Donald Trump, he might strike a deal with Ukraine to turn back on the taps, you just never know . Those foreigner supporting Trump presidency will realising their erroneous assumptions now. You can't predict Trump |
