PoliticsRe: 300 Trucks In Dangote Refinery To Lift Petrol On Sunday – NNPC by Minjim: 8:23am On Sep 15, 2024
To think just last month NNPCL was selling at #580. As soon as they heard Dangote is ready to roll out they increased to #890.
By the way, what happened to the PH Refinery?

Have we all forgotten about that ?

That’s the reason the masses will benefit. Mr Dangote knows Nigerians will come for him if he releases the price of PMS. Does NNPC have the power to stop him from selling to the public. The arrangement was done to enable the government subsidize the product.
The FG is the one controlling who Dangote sell to? And this same FG claimed the Oil and Gas sector has been be deregulated. Deregulation that can't accommodate corruption is not deregulation in Nigeria

They will be aware of where the truck is head and can track the supply, the truth is, some Nigerians don't want things to get better, they just want it to remain this way so they can make more money.

The marketers are a part of the problem, we don't have enough fuel but they are exporting to other countries after buying it cheap in Nigeria and becomes it's not going through customs, Nigeria don't get anything from it.

The truth, the exact cost of fuel is about 1200, if NNPC allow them, it will be around 1300, Nigerians are not ready for that now, so I suppose they want to reduce the burden and maybe sell at 800 or so, and then manage distribution.

If the reserve can continue to rise, and dollar get back to 700 naira the price of fuel will eventually become as low as 400, but until then, this is the best they can do, at least now we don't have to pay in dollars.
So #766 is what we will get with all the buy crude in Naira and sell in Naira?

This is a scam!

How are they able to get it out of the country in trucks? The FG and NC are complicit. Petrol are smuggled in large trucks and they move freely across the border.

Dangote cannot sell at loss whether in naira or dollars. All he wants is to sell his product irrespective of which country... He is not government... Again, NNPC lifting it doesn't prevent smuggling. Has NNPC being sole importer in recent months stopped smuggling?
Dangote said he is ready to make necessary financial sacrifices to lessen the burden of Nigerians. It's this FG that ( some of us voted in ) that is hell bend on adding to our burden

I don't understand the secrecy too.

However, I think we will know the price within the next 2 days as the petrol starts being sold at filling stations.

I suspect NNPC will make no formal announcement of price now because they probably believe doing so will dominate the news and create unnecessary drama for NNPCL.

Bro, whatever price you buy on Tues or Wednesday at any NNPCL filling station is the new price.
If we buy at this current price, then Nigerian should come out and protest emass.
I'm sure that was why they've been creating shortages for the past two months. Isn't that treason?
They're always quick to label any criticism by the opposition as treason but they are the ones actually committing the greatest economic treason

Just as you said, the lack of effective diplomatic representation has led to the imprisonment and deaths of many Nigerians abroad.

Many other countries would go the extra lenght to make sure that their citizens are not jailed wrongly and are educated about the dangers of illicit business, but over here, Abike and her couturier of petty minded colleagues are busy playing tribal politics with their jobs.
Calm down
She was approached to use her office to intervene

Mr. Ogebe, who had approached Dabiri-Erewa for her intervention, believed that Ihejirika’s case involved mistaken identity and offered his pro bono legal services. He pursued the case to Indonesia’s Supreme Court, ultimately securing Ihejirika’s release

You are the eeediot for commenting on matters above your pay grade!

Dangote refinery does not need Nigeria to survive. Like I said ina post above, Dangote can import all its crude and export all its refined products. There is no shortage of willing international offtakers. Just the other day a Kenyan analyst was expressing his delight that Dangote is now onstream.

It is Nigeria that needs a way to get petrol to the people at a price that will not cause them to revolt or price inflation. They only way they can do that is to do a deal with Dangote and that is why Dangote is the sole supplier. If Dangote were to sell his products at the market rate like his diesel, it is the same ignorant eeediots like you that will complain that the price is too high.

Dangote does not need Nigerian crude or Nigerian market. His refinery is designed to handle crude from any source whether light or heavy and he will get a better price if he exports his PMS. It is you who won’t pay the market price. Your neighbours in ordinary Niger, Cameroun, Benin etc are already paying market price and due to proximity Dangotes PMS will be cheaper for them.
Did the FG tell you they're still paying subsidy?
Answer Yes or No

People using diesel are paying market price. Are you ready to pay the market price for petrol?
Those using diesel fuel aren't they Nigerians?

Selling only to NNPCL will only compound matters because all the subsidy corruption occurred under this same NNPCL. What is the assurance they won't bring corruption into this process too?
And don't tell us the FG will be subsidizing it because up till now they always claimed subsidy is over.
If truly why not sell to every willing buyers after all NNPCL has its own Refinery that they claim will soon begin operation.
Why is no one asking about that one?
Only Dangote Refinery they are now talking about. They think all of us are fools
PoliticsRe: FG, Dangote Reach Agreement On Petrol Supply, Lifting Begins Tomorrow by Minjim: 9:01am On Sep 14, 2024
He said other decisions reached by the committee include the sale of Diesel in Naira by the Dangote Refinery to any interested off-taker while PMS will only be sold to NNPC

Why are others not permitted to load pms? Nigerians don't trust NNPCL on this secret agreement that may see pms being sold at over #800 because even when Dangote has not finished the construction of his Refinery ( that corrupt ) Kyari had said refining locally will not reduce the pump price.
Does that sound reasonable?

"“I understand that I am going to take a loss because by the time we sell the product and convert it to dollars, the exchange rate may have worsened,” Edwin quoted Dangote to have said."

I need more detail on the above

Why the exchange rate factor when the crude is sold to Dangote in Naira and also bought in Naira?

I don't know why the FG can't just supply Dangote with the needed crude oil, pay for the refining and sell to marketers at a flat rate. That seems more simple but trust the NNPCL not to do anything that will favour Nigerians

Edo people should show APC that Nigerians are not please with the APC led Fg.

If the party hierarchy can talk sense in Tinubu then they should be ready to lose at every level.

From Edo to Ekiti, Imo , Osun Ekiti and Anambra they should vote them all out.

By the time their party come a distance third in those states they'll get the message of 2027.

The only thing politicians like Tinubu fear is losing power.
