Selling only to NNPCL will only compound matters because all the subsidy corruption occurred under this same NNPCL. What is the assurance they won't bring corruption into this process too?
And don't tell us the FG will be subsidizing it because up till now they always claimed subsidy is over.
If truly why not sell to every willing buyers after all NNPCL has its own Refinery that they claim will soon begin operation.

Why are others not permitted to load pms? Nigerians don't trust NNPCL on this secret agreement that may see pms being sold at over #800 because even when Dangote has not finished the construction of his Refinery ( that corrupt ) Kyari had said refining locally will not reduce the pump price.

Why the exchange rate factor when the crude is sold to Dangote in Naira and also bought in Naira?

I don't know why the FG can't just supply Dangote with the needed crude oil, pay for the refining and sell to marketers at a flat rate. That seems more simple but trust the NNPCL not to do anything that will favour Nigerians

Edo people should show APC that Nigerians are not please with the APC led Fg.

If the party hierarchy can talk sense in Tinubu then they should be ready to lose at every level.

From Edo to Ekiti, Imo , Osun Ekiti and Anambra they should vote them all out.

What happens is that government subsidises petrol...and when the amount spent on subsides is not covering the resulting loses, the amount spent on subsidy is then reduced, and this manifests as a price increase.

Ideally, government is not supposed to be subsidising fuel. And at the end of the day, prices would go up based on cost of production.

But the problem is, the cost of production keeps rising and rising year in and out...so the price of petrol has to go up, otherwise things would have been band

As an example, if we kept fuel at N65 since 2011, instead of increasing the price, by now, subsidy costs would have gone up from N2 PER Liter as at Jan 2012 to N1100 and more per liter by now. Just to keep fuel at N65 per liter

If you want your government to do that, by now, we would have been spending somewhere in excess of 66 billion naira a day on subsidy, Or 24 trillion naira, and this would have eaten most of our budget in the name of subsidy. The deficit would be enormous.

Oga FIsayo does not understand how subsidy works or how damaging it is to the economy.

RUSSIAN dictator Vladimir Putin has said he his ready for peace talks with Ukraine.

The despot has waged an illegal war on Ukrainian soil for more than two years - but has now said he is "ready to negotiate" just weeks after Ukrainian soldiers burst into Russia.

Putin said the Kremlin is willing to revisit a failed deal from mediated talks between Kyiv and Moscow in Istanbul early on in the war.

Speaking at the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok today, he said: "Are we ready to negotiate with them?

"We have never refused to do so, but not on the basis of some ephemeral demands, but on the basis of those documents that were agreed and actually initialled in Istanbul."
