Thank God it's Friday! so we all say as the week,s hectic activities rolls to a halt. Let's know where you were last Friday night and how eventful it was.

Travel / Re: Why Do Nigerians At Home Always Beg Nigerians Abroad? by minto(m): 3:29pm On Sep 29, 2007
You need not be angry with home friends for asking you for money or whatever. The belief of an average Nigerian is that once you are outside the country, you're making some big money wherever you are and some just feel it's normal they have a piece of the cake. As for me I just give what I can afford and that clears my conscience; even though some of them sometimes go to the extreme but I don't think that's enough reason for calling them names. We should learn to respect people especially our dear friends home or abroad.

Food / What Type Of Food Or Drink Is The Most Popular In Your Home Town. by minto(m): 12:45am On Sep 23, 2007
We are blessed in Nigeria with varieties of food and drink and each town in Nigeria is well known for a particular type of food or drink. For instance when you mention emu [palmwine],all mind goes to Ila-orangun.

What type of food or drink is your HOME town well known for and what type of food or edible in general term, is like a taboo.

Fashion / What Hair-style Do You Have On Now And How Long Did It Take To Fix It? by minto(m): 3:32am On Sep 21, 2007
When it comes to looking good a greater percentage, especially ladies, gives haircare a priority and can go extra mile to make it look attractive. Even the pop superstar, Jacko, was not left out as he was reported to have spent 3hrs in his stylist's chair fixing 'just' wig. I know some styles takes longer than that while some could be fixed in a jiffy.

I want to know what style you have on now and the time taken to fix it. You may as well tell me your bill who knows, I may be inspired to go into hair fixing business.

As for me, I have it clean-shaven right nowI enjoy doing that in summerand believe me it takes just ten minutes and costs me no dime; I did it myself cool cool cool

Religion / Where Is Lady Evangelist Bola Odeleke? by minto(m): 4:15pm On Sep 08, 2007
I was having a chat with a friend last Sunday about lady evangelism and that reminded of this vibrant woman of God,who was one of the front runners of lady evangelism in Nigeria, Evangelist Bola Odeleke of 'Agbara Olorun kii ba ti' ministry. I remember I attended Sunday service twice in the church located somewhere on Okota layout, off Cele bus stop but I've not heard about this woman and her ministry for a long while now.
Can someone give me an update?
Sports / Re: Nigeria U17 Vs Argentina U17 by minto(m): 1:25am On Sep 05, 2007
Holiness_M:

Nigeria maintain excellent progress
Nigeria are through to the semi-finals at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup Korea 2007 after defeating Argentina 2-0 at the Cheonan Sports Complex on Sunday 2 September. The Africans now meet Germany or England for a place in the Final.

Argentina had the best of the early exchanges in a closely-fought and occasionally physical first half. Nigeria keeper Oladele Ajiboye saved Alexis Machuca's driven free-kick from over 30 yards, before Santiago Fernandez fired over the bar from the edge of the box ten minutes later. But the tables were turned on 33 minutes when the Africans took the lead after captain Lukman Haruna went down in the penalty area under a challenge from Fernando Meza.

Haruna picked himself up and dispatched the spot-kick to hand the Golden Eaglets the lead. Then on the stroke of half-time a glorious exchange of passes on the left sent Macauley Chrisantus clear in front of goal, the striker making no mistake to double his side's advantage and take his personal tally for the tournament to six.

The Africans had the better of the chances after the restart, Matthew Edile coming within a whisker of increasing the lead with a low drive. Argentina introduced a fresh striker in the shape of Carlos Benitez and the gamble looked set to bear fruit, but Maximiliano Oliva missed a good opening and Ajiboye beat out Eduardo Salvio's long-range effort. The final clear-cut chance fell to Nigeria, but Kabiru Akinsola's shot ended in the side-netting and the margin of victory remained at 2-0.

I'm surprised you didn't ask for somebody's private's hair to give us this dubbed version. You're growing buddy. grin grin grin grin grin
