Nigeria’s former Minister of Information and a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Tony Momoh, has linked the 2020 prophecy of Pastor TB Joshua to the outbreak of coronavirus.

COVID-19: How Banks, private sector operators provide funding, capacity building

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is real in Nigeria with nearly 100 confirmed cases recorded so far in the country. But government, banks and private sector leaders are taking steps to curb the spread of the virus and reduce impact of the pandemic on the people.

The Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 instituted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on behalf of the Bankers’ Committee and in partnership with the private sector will be raising funds needed to fight the scourge. Many banks and real sector operators have also risen to the challenge by making cash donations, providing e-learning centers, making loans available to healthcare providers and feeding low-income earners within the populace.

Fighting and defeating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Nigeria requires more than government efforts alone.

Private sectors, especially banks and real sector operators support is paramount.

That explains why the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) last week inaugurated the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition against COVID-19 meant to receive funds from banks and real sector operators to be fight the pandemic.

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele who broke the news in Lagos, also announced members of the Funding Committee who are expected to, through their organizations, contribute to the designated account opened at the CBN.



The fund from the coalition is expected to be raised within the next two weeks and deployed to procuring equipment and materials needed to combat the menace of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Guaranty Trust Bank and Access Bank have donated to the project N1 billion each. GTBank has aside the donation, officially presented a 100-bed space Intensive Care Centre for Covid-19 patients at Onikan in Lagos for Nigerians that may be infected by the disease. Access Bank has also promised to set up 1,000 bed spaces too.



First Bank of Nigeria Limited has also responded to the CBN call for contribution. The bank has donated N1 billion to the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 project. Beyond the bed spaces, FirstBank has focused on education and contributed to the empowering children and the youth.

The commercial banks generally are asking their customers to use alternate e-payment channels to ensure their safety as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across the country.

The lenders are also taking measures to ensure their staff members, customers and stakeholders are protected against the pandemic gradually spreading in the country.

To ensure the continuity of businesses and economic activities with minimal effect from the pandemic, banks have ensured that everyone visiting any of its branches takes a temperature test, makes use of hand sanitisers and maintains social distance.

Many lenders also reduced the number of staff on duty and encouraged customers to use digital channels, like Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and mobile payments.

Other real sector operators like Honeywell Flour Mills have also moved to provide their support.

On the need for accountability with secured funds, Emefiele disclosed that at the end of the project, a reputable form of Accountants will be used to render full account of how the funds were utilized as well as account for the materials donated.

Contrary to the false claims, their arrest was hinged on the heinous crimes committed by these culprits including arson and murder, their refusal to appear in court after several adjustments, court bench warrants issued including the fact that court officials who went with police to execute warrants were beaten up and assaulted. Barrister David Ajaba, a very senior legal consultant to HURIWA headed the team which also included Barrister Sylvia Nneka Okonkwo, and two other activists namely Andrew and Yomi. They met and interviewed several victims of coordinated attacks which were blamed reportedly on the factional traditional ruler of the village aforementioned.

The team authored a report of the fact-finding mission of human rights writers association of Nigeria to idumeji ugboko community of delta state as follows:

In view of the disturbing story of human rights abuses in Idumuje Ugboko community of Delta State, we embarked on a fact finding mission to the community on 21st August 2017. This was preceded by an application for police protection which was personally submitted to and immediately approved by the Delta State Commissioner of Police. In the company of some armed police men, they proceeded to Idumeje Ugboko community where they had interaction with a good number of persons who were affected by the rampage and did a house to house assessment of the situation.

Their finding revealed that Chief Chris Ogwu, the Iyamasi (Prime Minister) of Idumuje Ugboko is one of the victims of the attack. The window glasses of his cars: a Camry Le and a Mercedes-Benz 230; house windows, wardrobe were destroyed. He informed us that other household items like television, dstv decoder, mobile phones were stolen from him after had been personally beaten and dragged to the palace on the night of 24th May 2017.

All the elders of the community were affected by the attack. Chief Chucks Kennedy Ilo relayed that on the 19th of May 2017, some aggressive youths came to his shop and informed him that Prince Nonso had ordered that they bring him to the palace. They grabbed him and carried him to the palace where he was terribly manhandled and told that it was only a warning. Afterwards on the 24th of May 2017 at about 12midnight, they came back destroyed his living house (which we observed) and took away his dstv and Star Times decoders, TV, cooking gas, serving plates, ogbono seed stored by the wife. This second experience caused him to flee his home to Asaba where he has been till the time of our visit.

In addition, statistics showed that the rate of the virus’ spread in Italy has started to steadily diminish, with more than 900 declared recovered on Friday alone – sparking celebration from health officials in the stricken country.

Furthermore, Spain – one of the hardest hit nations in Europe – declared the virus was past its peak and expected cases to begin reducing.

For more than one week, there have been no new declared cases of the disease in Wuhan, China – the epicentre of the outbreak – leading to Chinese officials reopening most of Hubei province with life returning to virtual normalcy.

A Chinese citizen released a video showing an outpouring of rain in Wuhan, in which he can be heard testifying that TB Joshua had declared rain would fall in the city as a sign the disease was being ‘wiped away’.

In Uganda, over 100 of those suspected to have been infected were confirmed to be negative after testing, leading to jubilation from the country’s health minister.

Strangely, In the wake of Coronavirus pandemics, the Lagos state government has instrructed churches, mosques to stop gathering of crowd for their services, better still end all activities abruptly.

3) I had once said that 4 Presidents will be removed, 3 has been removed remaining 1. The fourth president will be removed in 2020. Venezuelan president will fight the American government over his removal from office.

I don't see this government reducing unemployment but there will be fake employment scheme everywhere. Nigeria Agricultural project will experience fraud that the government will not be able to support farmers. The governor of Ogun will perform excellently well. I see fulani herdsmen taking another another way of kidnapping but in 2020 terrorists group will diminish because the army will suppress them.

Emzor Pharmaceutical Combats Malaria Surge Among Pregnant Women
....Donates 5,000 doses of Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine (SPLIT) Maldox tablets

About 4,500 pregnant women in the country die from malaria annually, experts have said. They said the number accounts for 11% of the maternal mortality rate in the country.

The experts made the disclosure yesterday in Abuja, during the donation of 5,000 doses of Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine (SPLIT) Maldox tablets to the Intermittent Preventive Treatment for Pregnant Women project by Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Bright Orji , Project Director, Jhpiego said Nigeria contributes about 25% of malaria cases in the world , adding that every year about 9.8 million women get pregnant out of which 14% would likely have malaria parasite in their blood system.

So it is important not to allow these women come down with malaria. The disease causes still birth and death in pregnant women. That is why we must join hands to ensure pregnant women are safe,” he said.

He said only 17% of women who are supposed to get at least three doses of Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine (SPLIT) , a drug used to prevent malaria during pregnancy, access it. He said most Nigerian women do not attend antenatal or attend very late. According to him, the Preventive Treatment for Optimal Pregnancy (TIPTOP) project is aimed at ensuring women access the first dose of Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine drug at community level to encourage them to go to health facilities, register for antenatal and access the remaining doses. The programme is being piloted in Ondo, Ebonyi and Niger states. Chief Executive officer of Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Stella Okoli said many people were in need of malaria interventions . She enjoined Nigerians to assist in protecting more people from malaria . Minister of State for Health, Senator Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora commended Emzor for the donation and assured of the commitment of the present administration in protecting Nigerians from malaria as well as providing enabling enabling environment to enable Nigerian companies grow. Perpetual Uhomoibhi , Director Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation, National Malaria Elimination Programme said Nigeria was still one the countries with high burden of malaria but that it was still making steady progress towards elimination. She said: “ It reduced from 42 % in 2010 to 27% in 2015. According to the last survey that is the NDHS 2018, it is now 22.6%. So we are making steady progress towards zero. We together with our partners plan to bring it to zero.”

BOTSWANA BEST STUDENT GETS TB JOSHUA SCHOLARSHIP

A Form 2 high-flyer Naomi Higgins, who passed her Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) with flying colours, has received a tertiary scholarship from Nigerian televangelist Temitope Balogun Joshua, commonly known as Prophet TB Joshua.

Higgins joins thousands of students worldwide who have received scholarship ranging from primary to tertiary education sponsored by Prophet TB Joshua, founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) and Emmanuel TV partners.

The 14-year-old brilliant student, will be the second one from Botswana to benefit from the same initiative following Mary-Jean Nleya who was sponsored by Prophet TB Joshua and Emmanuel TV partners to pursue her Bachelor of Laws and attained Magna Cum Laude at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

Nleya was also sponsored by Prophet TB Joshua to pursue her Master’s Degree at Harvard University under the Harvard Law School and was also given an opportunity with the help of the Prophet to get an internship at International Criminal Court at The Hague in the Netherlands.

Higgins received her sponsorship during an all-paid expense trip by Prophet TB Joshua two week ago after a special invitation at SCOAN which is located in Lagos, Nigeria following an article which was published by Mmegi newspaper.

Higgins, who is currently doing her Form 4 at Selebi-Phikwe Senior Secondary School (SPSSS) was the only student at Nxakato JSS who attained grade A even though she sat for JCE whilst doing Form 2.

In an interview with Mmegi, Higgins said that words were not enough to describe her happiness when she received an invitation to SCOAN by Prophet TB Joshua.

She said that during her first encounter with Prophet TB Joshua she was shivering and all in tears. He added : “Prophet TB Joshua is a holy man and everything at SCOAN was godly. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet him in person.”

Higgins further said that she was still shocked that everything that happened to her in the past weeks started off with a small achievement of her passing JCE.She hopes to be a cardiologist and said that to her surprise during her one-on-one with Prophet TB Joshua, he offered her a tertiary scholarship to study what she wants when she finishes her BGCSE.

She also said that Prophet TB Joshua also appointed Nleya to be her mentor, role model and contact person for the prophet. Higgins clarfied that :“Nleya was the one who showed Prophet TB Joshua the article.

She is the same person who is going to assist me to apply for Harvard University or any other university, which is best in Cardiology across the globe.” She added that the scholarship would cover everything including tuition fees, living allowance and accommodation.

She also mentioned that Prophet TB Joshua gave her $3, 000 (about P33,000) so that she can purchase educational material to help her prepare for the BGCSE final examination. The intelligent girl was so determined to study harder at school because there was no way she was going to miss an opportunity to go to Harvard University.

About her stay in Nigeria, Higgins said she was over the moon because it has been her long term goal to be part of the congregants at SCOAN. She said that she would always cherish the moment because she was treated like a very important person (VIP) and accommodated in an executive suite just like in a five-star hotel.

The brilliant student described their experience at SCOAN as something out of this planet especially, the part where they visited the spiritual prayer mountain. The ever smiling student said that to make the journey to SCOAN even memorable was the part where she had to board on an aeroplane for the first time in her life.

She said that she would always thank God for everything, day and night, for making her dream come true earlier than expected. Higgins’s mother Ruth Higgins, who was equally elated, thanked Mmegi for writing an article about her brilliant daughter.

She said that it was through the article that her daughter was discovered by the Prophet TB Joshua who offered her the tertiary scholarship. She further said that if her daughter finishes her Form 5, provided she performs ell, she will go to any University of her choice and Prophet TB Joshua will wholly cover the scholarship.

Ruth added : “I don’t know how to describe the feeling as it is out of this world. The ball is in her court now to work extra harder in order to pass her BGCSE.” The delighted mother said that the bursary gives them assurance as parents that their daughter ‘s dream of studying Cardiology at Harvard University would come true provided she meet the University entry credentials. Ruth was certain that her daughter would pass BGCSE with merit because she is a hard worker and well-disciplined girl.

She expressed gratitude to Prophet TB Joshua for awarding Naomi the tertiary education scholarship and to God for giving her abundance of blessings. Ruth also thanked one of the beneficiaries of Prophet TB Joshua’s education bursary Nleya who discovered her daughter.

She shared that they learnt that Nleya also received scholarship from Prophet TB Joshua and Emmanuel TV partners years back when she was just an ordinary visitor at SCOAN. She also described Nleya as a guardian angel who made her daughter’s dream turn into reality. Naomi’s father, Kenneth Higgins said that he was extremely overjoyed of his daughter’s achievements. He said that his daughter’s achievements have brought admiration to his family.

Kenneth said: “This is what all fathers dream of and this is what we want for our families. I give all the honour and glory to the almighty God and Prophet TB Joshua for this grace from God. I am very much humbled by the kind gesture.” He said that Naomi’s achievements would go a long way in motivating her fellow peers on the importance of taking education seriously and to aim high and reach great heights.

Chinese Health Experts Echo TB Joshua’s Prophecy On End Of Coronavirus Outbreak (Video)[size=8pt][/size]

Chinese health experts have declared that by the end of March 2020, there will be no more new COVID-19 cases in Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.

According to Zhang Boli, part of the 14-member research team sent by Beijing to Hubei province to guide the response to the epidemic, the outbreak has been effectively contained within China and life will soon return to normalcy for Chinese citizens.

In other areas of Hubei, Zhang – who is also the director of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine – expects that there will be zero new cases by the middle of the month.

The rosy predictions come as official Chinese data shows that new infections outside of Hubei province have dropped to near zero, apart from coronavirus-infected travellers arriving from abroad.

The declarations of the Chinese health officials echo the viral prophecy given by Nigerian Prophet TB Joshua about the end of the dreaded disease.

“By the end of this month – whether we like it or not – it will go the way it came,” Joshua declared on Sunday 1st March 2020 during his sermon aired live on Emmanuel TV.

This corroborated his message on January 4th 2020 – before the virus came to public attention – when the cleric declared that the fearful events of 2019 would end in March 2020 according to “God’s timetable”.

“The reason why I am here today is to clear the air, to let you know calmness has returned. So, there is no cause of alarm,” he counselled congregants.

Earlier, on Saturday 29th February 2020, Joshua declared that “showers of rain that will wipe away the fear of the unknown” would fall as a sign the days of the disease were numbered.\

Heavy fain fell in Wuhan, China the day after this declaration, with Emmanuel TV viewers also reporting of unusual rainfall in countries worldwide.

Joshua had termed 2020 a “year of humility”, adding that there would be a worldwide “economic backlash” – a declaration that has already been proven accurate in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak.

SOUTH SUDAN FORMS UNITY GOVERNMENT
AS TB JOSHUA’S PROPHECY COMES TO PASS

Saturday 22nd February 2020 is set to go down as a historic date in South Sudan as a unity government between once bitter rivals President Salva Kiir Mayardit and opposition leader Riek Machar finally comes to fruition.

“I want to tell the people of South Sudan that all the changes that are taking place right now are to bring peace and not changes that will bring conflict again because we are tired of conflict,” Kiir announced as he officially appointed Machar as Vice President, one of five to be appointed to the new government.

For months, the government and former rebels were at an impasse over the number of states in South Sudan as Kiir unilaterally increased the number to 32 during the recent civil war, which resulted in the deaths of over 400,000 people.

After failing to meet the two previous deadlines to form a unity government, fears of a resurgence in violence were palpable.

However, Kiir chose to compromise “for the sake of peace” and reverted to the original ten states, paving the way for the unity government’s formation.

This historic settlement, a huge step towards lasting peace in the world’s youngest nation, was ‘prophesied’ during the recent visit to Juba by Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua on November 12th 2019.

“I am here to prophesy to the nation. If I am a prophet, this will not go without fulfilment,” Joshua boldly declared in a national address at the Presidential Palace, broadcast live on South Sudan’s state television.

“This country is going to enter a new beginning - whether you like it or not, whether I like it or not,” he continued, insisting that “your agreement does not matter to what God is about to do” and “you cannot stand in the way of the Lord”.

With Kiir and his entire cabinet in attendance during the address, the cleric stressed that “peace has no price” and counselled leaders to overcome all divisions and differences.

“Time has come for us to put our differences behind us. Our leaders, we should overcome our divisions and agree to work together – for the good of this country,” he declared, before leading the leaders in prayer for peace.

Social media in South Sudan was awash with news of Joshua’s visit, with many citizens insisting his prayers and prophetic message were pivotal in the peace process.

“It is the high time South Sudanese should embrace Prophet TB Joshua for his prophecy has come to pass about our nation,” wrote Gum Thany on Facebook.

“Imagine our leaders made historical concessions for the first time just for the sake of peace and this is being coupled with showers of rain in Juba in the middle of dry season,” he added.

Numerous attempts in the past to bring peace between Kiir and Machar proved unsuccessful – including the time the duo were received by Pope Francis in Vatican City where he famously kissed the warring leaders feet.

South Sudanese citizens are hopeful that the new unity government will usher in an era of peace, development and stability.

HOW TB JOSHUA SAW DAVID LYON’S REMOVAL AS BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR

The ruling from Nigeria’s Supreme Court that Chief David Lyon should be removed as the Governor of Bayelsa State due to discrepancies in the certificates of his deputy-governorship candidate came as a shock to many.

However, several Bayelsa indigenes were quick to point out a veiled warning given by Prophet TB Joshua to Lyon during his visit to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on December 1st 2019.

Lyon had said his attendance was for ‘Thanksgiving’ but Joshua quickly insisted “it was not yet time for testimony”, stressing that he needed prayers and should not celebrate until after the inauguration.

Notably absent from the service was Lyon’s Deputy-Governorship candidate - Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo - whose certificates he submitted to INEC were the centre of controversy.

A member of Lyon’s entourage during his visit to The SCOAN revealed behind-the-scene details of Joshua’s discussions with Lyon, explaining that the cleric had insisted on Degi-Eremienyo’s presence in the church as he was seeing “an obstacle”

According to him, the Senator refused to come because of his position as a high-ranking bishop and priest in the religious sect ‘The Brotherhood of the Cross and the Star’ under the cult leadership of Olumba Olumba Obu.

A Facebook Profile belonging to Degi-Eremienyo shows several images of him dressed in the sect’s regalia and states he “believes in His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu and the promotion of universal love and peace to enhance spiritual emancipation of mankind.”

Lyon’s aide revealed the former Governor-elect was even in The SCOAN on Tuesday 11th February 2020 - when the Supreme Court affirmed his candidature - where Joshua repeated his warning about Senator Biobarakuma and the “obstacle” he foresaw.

“Joshua was invited as a special guest to the inauguration on Friday but he said he would not attend because of that obstacle,” the aide revealed. “Today, we can all see what has happened.”

“I am not going to say anything that the Spirit of God will not,” Joshua told Lyon publicly during the service last year, stressing the need to always seek God’s opinion.
