So I was given a 24hr ban for writing in Spanish, well I don't care tho. About the match, it should have been over in the first half. But it went the other way. That we are the champions of the world doesn't mean we won't lose matches. We fall, we pick our selves up and we work harder. #halamadrid. |

Chelsea star Eden Hazard in 'advanced negotiations' with Real Madrid Eden Hazard is in 'advanced negotiations' with Real Madrid and could leave Chelsea for the La Liga giants following the 2018 World Cup. Reports in Spain claim the Blues' star man is Zinedine Zidane's No 1 target in the summer, which would pave the way for Marco Asensio's Bernabeu exit. Diario Gol write that Asensio has issued the club an ultimatum, informing them that if Hazard joins he will end his association with the Spanish side. Asensio is supremely talented and would surely have a number of top clubs lining up for his signature, but it is widely acknowledged that Hazard's arrival would see him warming a place on the Real Madrid bench. Zidane is a huge fan of the Belgian and would be delighted to bring him to Spain as Real Madrid look to keep pace at the top of La Liga. The Spanish report notes that negotiations between Real Madrid and Hazard are 'advancing', and everything points to the player arriving after the World Cup. The 26-year-old, who has netted eight times for Chelsea this season, is heading to Russia with his country in the summer. Asensio is also likely to be there with Spain, but whether he heads back to Madrid after the tournament as yet remains to be seen. Diario Gol write that he favours a move to Manchester City if he is to leave the Bernabeu, with Pep Guardiola keen on him. Asensio is said to be monitoring how the situation pans out with Hazard before he commits to any move away from the club. |
Real Madrid to pay Athletic goalkeeper Kepa's €20m release clause in January With contract talks between Kepa and Athletic Bilbao dead in the water, Real are readying themslves to pay the keeper's 20m-euro buy-out figure. Real Madrid are preparing to pay Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga's 20-million-euro release clause in January. Contract negotiations between Athletic and Kepa, whose current deal runs out in June, are understood to have broken down completely and, as has previously been reported by AS, neither Real nor the player wish to stretch the saga out until the summer. Los Blancos are keen to announce the signing of Kepa in the first week of January, and Bernabéu chiefs are aware that there is only one way of making that happen: to meet his buy-out figure. Athletic's president, Josu Urrutia, has always maintained that a player's release clause must be paid if they are to leave the Bilbao club. Meanwhile, Real have no intention of agreeing a price higher than 20m to avoid a 'hostile' transfer. In view of both clubs' firm stances, the only option is for Kepa's clause to be unilaterally triggered by the player depositing his buy-out fee at the offices of LaLiga, the governing body of professional league football in Spain. With talks between Kepa and Athletic dead in the water, the next step is for the custodian, who made his senior Spain debut in November, to agree personal terms with Real Madrid. The player's camp are now directly aware of Real's interest, while Los Merengues know that he has made the decision to move to the capital. Real are therefore set to make a formal offer to Kepa, who he is free to talk to other clubs from 1 January, in the opening days of 2018. It is believed that the Bernabéu club will hand the keeper a six-year contract worth around three million euros net per year.

Bayern Munich's president, Uli Hoeness, told club fans that he thought Neymar was overrated and that they could not afford the astronomic fees paid by Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian and Mbappe. The German side were reportedly interested in Neymar when he was at Santos but baulked at the 24 million asking fee. "Neymar does not seem so good to me," Hoeness said during a Christmas dinner with supporters. "We can not invest with figures like that, not even 180m for Mbappe, who I think is very good."

Paris madness: tickets for PSG vs Real Madrid on resale at €14,000 Demand for Paris Saint-Germain's home tie against Real Madrid in the Champions League is sky high with the clash at Parc des Princes sold-out and prices of 14,000 euros have been touted for those on resale. The chance to see the newly rich side from the French capital take on the Madrid aristocrats has sent pulses racing. "We inform you that there are no tickets left for the game between PSG and Madrid," the French club said on their website and proposed the option of going to a resale page to obtain an entry. "However, you can buy tickets at Ticketplace, the official resale page of the club." With three months to go and without even knowing the result of the first leg, prices are ranging from 315 euros to 14,695. Before this match, both teams will have to face each other at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg on February 14, a game in which there are also no more tickets left on the official website of Real Madrid. PSG star Kylian Mbappe is in confident mood about his team's chances. "Of course we can beat Real Madrid if we do not believe it, who will?, Mbappe said in a recent press conference. "So, of course, we can do it. "We know it will not be easy, but we will work until February to be ready when the time comes." |
