hopefulLandlord:we need a better and experience backup in the RB position. Adriozola will be coming in next season. Achraf will be leaving, probably on a long loan deal. |
usbcable:a new coach might be appointed this week. Poch might be released this week by Levy(almost impossible). Juventus board said allegri won't be leaving . Let's just wait and watch. I trust papa Perez to bring in someone capable. |
Ovie56:new coach, new tactics. Another coach might opt to start James ahead of isco and asensio. |
With zizou gone, James might not make a permanent switch to Bayern. |
Our soon-to-be right back just scored for spain |
The six gifts Zidane has left for his successor Zinedine Zidane's legacy at Real Madrid isn't limited to the nine trophies he added to the cabinets of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, as he has also left behind him an excellent situation for his successor, whoever that may be. Here, we take a look at six gifts the Frenchman has laid down at the club. A dressing room that feels like a family At a club as large as Real Madrid, it's important for there to be unity in the dressing room and Zidane has made sure that there is. It was clear from the Champions League celebrations that there is a positive and family-like atmosphere in the squad, which is a major achievement on Zidane's part. As Sergio Ramos said before the final in Kiev, there are no egos there. Winning mentality By leading Los Blancos to trophy after trophy, Zidane leaves behind him a squad that now knows how to win. This winning feeling is hard to shake off, and the next coach should benefit from this winning mentality. A squad with 16 starters While Zidane may been exaggerating slightly when he claimed that any of his 24 first-team squad members could play to the required level, it is true that there are 16 players in the squad who could be considered starters. This is a luxury for whoever inherits this squad, as they'll feel they can rotate and overcome injuries and suspensions. Improved footballers There are a number of footballers who have developed significantly under Zidane, such as Casemiro, Lucas Vazquez, Marco Asensio and Keylor Navas. These players are all better now than they were when Zidane took over and this improvement should last, with the next coach able to make the most of it. Tactical flexibility Zidane has trained his squad to be able to play in a number of different formations and to play well in a number of different formations. From a BBC-led 4-3-3 to a standard to 4-4-2 to a 4-3-1-2 with Isco as a No.10, this team can shapeshift like few others. A Cristiano Ronaldo who is willing to rest Assuming Cristiano Ronaldo does stay at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Zidane's heir will inherit a player who is much more willing to sit out matches than he was three years ago. The benefits of this have been clear to see, with the No.7 finishing recent seasons well. |
Happy Sunday all |

monerozi5590:would take sarri over him though. |
The earlier we get a coach, the better. We need to start planning about 2018/19 season |
Current reports claim Madrid is no longer interested in hiring poch, because of Levy. |
Back to back to back |
Real Madrid will push for Sarri if they fail to hire Pochettino, says intermediary Real Madrid will push for Maurizio Sarri if Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t ask to leave Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, according to an intermediary. The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing, as Napoli fired Sarri to make way for Carlo Ancelotti, but he is still under contract and negotiations with Chelsea appear to have broken down. “(Napoli President) Aurelio De Laurentiis is making sure his contractual rights are respected, so any club that wants Sarri has to negotiate directly with him, but I am sure they’ll be able to resolve it all with a handshake,” transfer intermediary Salvatore Garritano told CalcioNapoli24. With Chelsea getting cold feet, it seems Real Madrid are interested in Sarri’s services after Zinedine Zidane resigned. “It’s more than just a suggestion, absolutely. We mustn’t hide the situation: Real Madrid want Pochettino and have done for several weeks, they even have an agreement, but contractually he is in a more complicated situation than Sarri, having just renewed his deal with Tottenham. “Real Madrid cannot wait for Pochettino much longer. I think after tomorrow, they won’t wait any more and Sarri is the second choice, but let’s be clear, it’s like choosing between a BMW and a Ferrari. “I spoke to a few Real Madrid directors and if they want to, they’ll take Sarri. Napoli and Real Madrid have a strong rapport, so I’d give it a 70 per cent chance we’ll see Sarri on the Merengues bench. “I think they’ll make a decision on Sunday night, maximum on Monday. It’s a big club, the market is open and they can’t wait for much longer.” Napoli could even ask for Karim Benzema as part of an exchange with Sarri. “It’s no secret Ancelotti loves Benzema and obviously he’d like him at Napoli. On Monday morning, I will speak to Real Madrid again and we’ll see what happens.” |
monerozi5590:nice points you got there, but I think poch deserves all the hype his getting. He turned Tottenham into title contenders. Though his nothing close to allegri, but I thing poch is really good. |
Pochetinno, klopp and Massimiliano Allegri. Who among them can do a better job in Madrid? |
Seems like Guti got a job offer somewhere else. |
MoR2:not confirmed yet. I just love zizou, he said he won't be coaching another club anytime soon, and I think his going to keep to his words. Qatar or France national team will be his next location, who knows, he might then return to Madrid. |
BoleAndFish:is Wenger a bad coach? You making it look like his one. |
Klopp is the preferred choice of the Real Madrid fanbase Real Madrid supporters have had their say and they have declared Jurgen Klopp as the preferred candidate to take over from Zinedine Zidane. The German received 29 percent of the votes in a MARCA poll, one which had 44,970 total votes at the time of the count. This placed him ahead of the second favourite Mauricio Pochettino, who had 23 percent, while Castilla coach Guti was just behind on 20 percent. Joachim Low claimed 14 percent, while Michel had nine percent. The only other option on the poll was for none of the above, which took a share of five percent. |
Zidane whatsapp message to the Real Madrid squad : Zidane penned: “Thanks for everything. Without your support in the worst moments nothing we did would have been possible. We will see each other soon, a hug.” |
Yonce:politics man. I think the team is more united now unlike last 3 years. We have a calm dressing room now. |
LosVikingos:he didn't take part in modelling the new kit because his a Nike ambassador and also he wasn't in town when the club show cased the new Jersey, that was last two months. |
Guys, meet Merlin, the new ball for la liga Santander 2018/19 season.

Poch: when Madrid calls, you have to listen. |
New Real Madrid coach's in-tray: Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale... Whoever replaces Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid's new head coach will have a few key issues that require his immediate attention. Real Madrid are yet to appoint a successor to Zinedine Zidane, who made the surprise announcement of his departure as Bernabéu head coach on Thursday, but, whoever replaces the Frenchman will find several matters requiring his attention. Some, such as resolving the Cristiano Ronaldo situation and sorting out Gareth Bale's future, are of major significance. The Cristiano Ronaldo issue Without doubt the major fire that needs to be put out. Cristiano well and truly pooped Real Madrid's Champions League party when he told a post-match interview in Kiev: "It has been great playing for Madrid... I'll speak in the next few days." Some months ago, the Portuguese had gone as far as to say to team-mates that he was planning to leave Real. His grievances with the club stem from Florentino Pérez's post-2017 Champions League final promise of an improved contract , which Los Blancos' president then went back on. The situation has hardly been helped by Pérez's constant flirtation with Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar, either (one example of which came on the night of the Ballon d'Or gala, where CR7 was presented with his fifth Ballon d'or.) Meanwhile, the Real Madrid hierarchy are not happy with the player over his incendiary comments in Kiev, with the consensus being: It was not the time for that. During Real's trophy celebrations the day after the final, the fans made their feelings loud and clear to Ronaldo - and in the process, Pérez - by chanting, "Cristiano, please stay!"; chants that were echoed by his fellow players. Cristiano's camp expect him to be at Real next season, but Zidane's resignation adds uncertainty to the forward's future. The new boss will be tasked with helping to calm this storm. Gareth Bale's future Bale put a host of potential suitors on red alert straight after Real's Champions League win when he admitted that he wanted more regular football, telling reporters: "Obviously, I was very disappointed not to start the game [in Kiev], I felt that I deserved to, but it’s the manager who makes the decisions. Obviously I need to play every week, something that hasn’t been the case this season. I’ll have to sit down with my agent and talk about it." Despite Manchester United's interest, the Welshman opted to remain in Madrid last summer to give himself one last chance to truly explode at Real, but as the months passed he came to the realisation that that wasn't going to happen under Zidane, who left him on the bench on a host of big nights: both legs of the ties against PSG and Bayern Munich, the opener of Real's quarter-final with Juventus, and the final). Now, Zidane's decision to leave the club must feel like manna from heaven to the former Tottenham Hotspur man. He remains a favourite of the president, and this change of coach has suddenly shortened the odds of his Bernabéu career coming to a close this summer. Real Madrid's goalkeeper The goalkeeping question has been a constant topic for debate since Iker Casillas left in 2015. That summer, Los Merengues were on the verge of signing David de Gea from Manchester United that August, only for the deadline-day deal to be embarrassingly scuppered by late-arriving paperwork. The Spaniard remained at Old Trafford and Keylor, who had been set to move in the opposite direction, stayed in Madrid. Yet despite the Costa Rican's general dependability between the sticks, he has never completely gained the trust of the club's hierarchy, who have continued to comb the market for a keeper. The likes of De Gea, Thibaut Courtois and Bernd Leno have all been linked with Real, while in January the European champions had all but agreed the signing of Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga, only for Zidane to put the brakes on the move. "I don't need a goalkeeper," declared 'Zizou', who never shared his bosses' desire to bring in another custodian. It will now be down to his replacement to sit down with the club and decide whether or not to strengthen in the position. Neymar, signing a number nine... Real Madrid's disastrous LaLiga title defence, coupled with their premature elimination from the Copa del Rey at the hands of Leganés, led the club to the conclusion that, whether or not the team went on to win a third straight Champions League, the squad needed summer surgery. Responsibility for that process - one which Real's powers-that-be had counted on being able to carry out alongside Zidane - will now, in part, fall to his successor. There are a number of transfer-window issues to be resolved that are crucial to the team's future: the signing of Neymar ("I haven't asked for him," Zidane had even said), the debate over whether or not to buy a number nine who can compete with Karim Benzema, making a decision on Dani Ceballos (who was purchased last year for 16.5m euros having been labelled as one of Spanish football's great white hopes, and comprehensively failed to win Zidane's trust), sorting out the future of the players out on loan (such as Vinicius Junior, Raúl de Tomás, Martin Odegaard)... |
Real Madrid could turn to Cannavaro if Pochettino doesn't come (GdS) Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly swoop for Maurizio Sarri if Mauricio Pochettino leaves for Real Madrid, while Fabio Cannavaro is an alternative. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Zinedine Zidane’s shock exit from Real Madrid could trigger a domino effect involving Sarri and Cannavaro. The newspaper explains that Pochettino is in ‘pole position’ to replace Zidane, freeing up Sarri to take over Tottenham. The 58-year-old appeared to be set for the Chelsea job, having parted ways with Napoli, but the Blues are not prepared to pay his €8m release clause. If that does not bear fruition, La Gazzetta believes Madrid could turn to Cannavaro, who played for Los Blancos between 2006 and 2009, winning two Liga titles. |
MoR2:Ron might end up leaving. |
Seems like the board what to hand bale a contract extension. |
Yonce:try and understand what I wrote. He was sacked mid season, that's the reason why I said he won us a UCL trophy. He was part of it. |
Krasid:benitez was part of the success though |
Krasid:Perez really messed up by bringing in benitez, though he won us a CL trophy. The man wasn't a tactical genius. Bringing in someone like conte and wenger(God forbid) will be the most stupid thing ever. |
MoR2:lol, easier said than done. Modric is still playing at the top, don't think Erikson is needed now. Kane ✔ We are about securing the service of Gimenez, so no need for Toby. |
