You know their MO very well.

Any missed opportunity by Griezmann will be used as an ammunition to taunt him. Very bitter fan base.

Since Zidane left, Perez has been acting like a divorcee who got a golden handshake.

By the time summer is over, the vault would prolly be empty. Can't blame him. We've been quiet for 3 years now and finished 17 points off Barca. Now he's compensating.

-Lord
I hope Perez gets his signings right. I think his major targets are GK,defender, Rb and a striker.

The maximum Real Madrid have prepared for Alisson is €60m+€10m in bonuses (Sky Italia)

Despite Mundo Deportivo suggestions of a done deal for €75m, Sky Sport Italia claim Real Madrid won’t go that high for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Reports out of Spain this evening claimed that the goalkeeper was on his way to Madrid for €70m plus €5m in performance-related bonuses.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio insists a formal offer won’t be made until tomorrow.

Even then, it’ll start out at €50m, but the maximum the Merengues are prepared to bid is €60m plus €10m in bonuses.

Liverpool and Chelsea could therefore remain in the running, but Roma are preparing Plan B if Alisson does leave, and are [/[b]b]targeting Italian youngster Alex Meret.

'Today is the happiest day of my life' - Julen Lopetegui unveiled as Real Madrid manager

Julen Lopetegui has been officially unveiled as the new manager of Real Madrid, after he was sacked by Spain two days before their World Cup opener.

Lopetegui was the surprise choice to replace Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, after the Frenchman resigned over transfer policy despite winning three straight Champions League titles.

The former Porto boss accepted the offer to take over following his duties with Spain at the World Cup - but was dismissed by the Spanish FA before their opener against Portugal on Saturday.

Speaking at his unveiling, Lopetegui said: 'We will try and win everything. I just want to thank everyone, I feel like part of the Real family. Yesterday, after the death of my mother, was the saddest of my life, but today is the happiest day of my life.'

Real president Florentino Perez accused the Spanish FA of 'disrespecting' Real and attempting to 'destroy our image' in an extraordinary statement before Lopetegui spoke, as he claimed the club had been open in their agreement with Lopetegui in an attempt to avoid destabilising the Spanish effort at the World Cup.

He said: 'We wanted to have this act after the World Cup, a successful World Cup for our national team. However circumstances mean we are here now, and we are delighted to welcome the new manager of our team.

'I know for you, Julen, today is a day of a lot of feelings, strange feelings, as you wanted to be world champion, you wanted to make Spain champion of the world and then be manager of your dear Real Madrid.

'Inevitably there will be some comments about what has happened, but Real and Julen made an agreement to work together after the World Cup, respecting his contract. We wanted to do it before the World Cup to make it transparent and avoid rumours.

'There is no precedent that a manager agrees to become manager of a team after a competition and that agreement has been interpreted as disloyal. If you think it is, well, that is not how we do things in modern Spain. It is not true at all.

'We wanted to make it transparent and clear to prevent leaks that could damage Spain during the World Cup. This agreement seemed all normal, but then it was a reaction of pride from the FA president which has disrespected Real Madrid.

'There have been cases, Conte, van Gaal, who have agreed to move on from national teams before or during a competition. Real are proud to have been able to help the success of the national team, and it is important that we remain the most respected club in the world and work against those who seek to destroy our image. I do not want to play the victim, but we must combat this anti-Madrid feeling during one of the best moments in our history.

'We are hugely surprised and cannot understand how this agreement could affect the players who are committed to being world champions again. These are professional players, this agreement would not hurt them, there is nothing that does not justify Lopetegui being on the Spain bench tomorrow.

'We are sorry he could not fight to make Spain world champions, but we have the satisfaction of having a great manager to make history again. This is a huge challenge not many get to face, I want to thank you Julen, and welcome you to your home.'

Lopetegui previously played for Real as a goalkeeper, and managed the B team, Castilla, before coaching in Portugal.

Real Madrid will play their first preseason game on July 28 in Puebla

Mexican side, Puebla, will be Real Madrid's first pre-season opponents on July 28.

The club had planned the game for early August but there has been a change of plans at the last minute.

Now, the players will start preseason in the facilities of Valdebebas and will travel a few days later.

This decision was one of the first concessions for Julen Lopetegui, the new Real coach, since he hoped to have the first test for his new team relatively quickly and to then be able to carry out more training sessions in Madrid .

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Alisson, but need raising bid to €80m (MD)

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Alisson Becker, according to Mundo Deportivo, but Roma want €80m compared to the €60m offered.

Multiple sources have suggested over the last few days that Liverpool are pulling out of the race to sign Alisson, feeling they cannot match the side that won the Champions League three times in a row.

This evening, Mundo Deportivo claim that Alisson has given the all-clear to Real Madrid after his agent Ze Maria agreed personal terms for a five-year deal with option for a sixth.

However, the club is offering €55m plus €5m in bonuses, whereas Roma are demanding €80m for the Brazil Number 1.

Alisson said he was eager to get the situation sorted out before Brazil’s World Cup campaign kicks off, but that seems unlikely with such a large gap between demand and offer.

Roma believe his performances in Russia could raise the asking price even more.

They're catalans. The first person Lius hugged after winning the election was the Catalan FA president. F*cking sc*ms!

And to believe Barca pulled this ish before in 1980 with Kubala for the Euros, and these same Catalans didn't learn from that and went ahead to destabilize the team completely.

My anger with Perez is that he is (and rightly so) going to take most of the blame.

-Lord
if Lope had signed for barka, I strongly doubt if he would have been sacked.

Maybe tomorrow, you start hearing that Lope has started receiving death threats.

LordAdamX:
If I hear say e no affect am. All eyes on him. Even if we win, he'd be seen as a traitor; shortchanging national team glory for club wins. You know how the Spanish behave. The English forgive, not the Spanish.

What I don't understand is why didn't he just suspend talks until end of the WC. It is only 1 month. If they were able to keep the media out of his tail, what about keeping it that way. It's not like he was going to sign players during the WC. The Madrid hierarchy was willing to wait for 1 month, so why not hold the signature until after the WC.

Why did they feel the need to sign it now and angering the FA? Same FA that can make life difficult for us. Perez never thinks anything through.

-Lord
I believe Perez pushed for the deal. He might have been impatient and wanted Lope to sign the deal.

I just pity Lope, imagine going trophyless next season. It won't be funny if Perez sacks him before his contract finishes.

As for the FA, most of them are Catalonia, some of them are also barka fans, I believe they were the ones who wanted Lope sacked.

LordAdamX:
Actually, Perez, Hierro, and Lius cost Spain the WC.

Perez for again thinking the world revolves around him, and Hierro/Lius thinking this was an ego-match with Perez.

Apparently, both Madrid and Barca players begged Lius to keep Lope until the end of the tourney. Lius refused.

Now they have to announce a new coach for a team selected by Lope, trained by Lope, and have played all the friendlies under Lope.

Perez just keeps making enemies for Madrid. Running Madrid like it's his family business. Expect all away games next season to be hostile for us, as I'm sure the media would make this all Madrid's fault. The players would face the music while the board will hide in the shadows.

-Lord
I just hope all this drama doesn't affect him(Lope) when the season starts. Imagine loosing an away match in Spain, the whole stadium will boo him or if Spain lose to Portugal. The timing of this appointment is bad, very bad.

Sth is very wrong with the Spanish.

I may not be supporting their team in this WC, but this is below the belt. This could have been handled better. Much better.

As for Perez, I reserve my comment.

-Lord
Perez might have cost Spain the WC now. I know we were anxious to know the next coach, but we never expected Lope. Perez should have kept it a secret till the tournament is over.

The Spanish FA is saying he would abdicate his role as Spain's head coach after the World Cup.

In fact, Lope made the decision without talking to the FA. They're as surprised as we are.

Perez and his board ehn, only heaven knows what goes on in their mind. 6 RM players are part of the Spanish contingent going to this WC, RM is Spain's premier club, and then they decide to pull this stunt with the national team coach.

-Lord
perez is full of wonders, you don't want to give ur all time top goal scorer an improved contract, but you want to sign neymar for a mad fee and then pay him double what ur current best player earns.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: R36L Madrid - Most Successful & Greatest Champ15ns of Spain, Europe & W9rld by Miremoses1(m): 9:44pm On Jun 12, 2018
Julen Lopetegui on Bale in 2015,"A player at Real Madrid has to give 100% all the time. If he doesn't then he might as well leave. La liga is totally different to the premier league. A Player like that wouldn't get into my team.

Hmmm

Yes o.

Since the Board signs without the Coach's input, they should get on with it. But I have a feeling they wouldn't want to stir the pot and be blamed by Spanish press for distracting Lope during the WC.

Suddenly, the WC can't end quickly enough.

-Lord
but on a serious note, I think signing lope now especially since his the Spanish coach isn't right. Just like you said, he might be distracted, and also Spain's dressing will be divided.

Sentiment aside, Navas is my favourite goalkeeper on planet earth.
Perez will sign a new GK. It's an open secret.
