Vicjustice:
I thought you were talking about some mischievous syndicate (in Nigeria) professing to be a "visa agent". Well, I still don't see any need for the service of an agent whether in Nigeria or abroad.
However, as neither you nor your husband has a job, it would be reasonable for for the visa officer to refuse his application on employment ground as this is a basic requirement to fulfil.

haha no no, I wouldn't go looking down some back ally for help in that sense.
Thankfully my husband has a job, just my mind is telling me the money saved and has in the current account won't be enough, hence why I thought it might be best for my parent as they both have a steady income and good savings. We will be staying at my parents house, so if he were to apply as himself as sole sponsor wouldn't he still need some type of sponsor letter from my parents for us to stay at their house?
Sorry, to go on, just making sure I have everything out on the table before I make any choices smiley

I won't recommend sponsorship by your own parents, he is a married man, therefore, it is expected of him to be capable of self sponsor, or alternatively, you (as his spouse) can sponsor him.
Let him not make the mistake of depositing money into his account unless he is able to provide comprehensive and credible evidence of the source of the money.
Warning! Flee from whoever that "agent" is who accord himself a "visa specialist", s/he could get your husband into a huge trouble that may get him banned from the UK for 10 years: you don't need any "agent" unless you want to waste your money and get banned as a result of their error

Thanks for your response vicjustice. I was thinking this but by me not having a job at the moment play a part in their refusal? I have over 8k, so for 2 weeks more than sufficient. I'm not sure whether 3k on his part will be ok in terms of the eyes of the visa official.
Right, no depositing, I thought so, thank you.

It's ok, the visa specialist was recommended by the citizens advice beaureu in the uk as well as our local MP. They're well known. But I didn't know hiring one for help would result in a ban.

I came across this thread while looking for advice related to my visa difficulties. I have to say the responses on this thread have been amazing, kudos to you guys!

I hope you'll be able to give some advice in my case. My husband will be applying for a family visit visa to visit my parents for two weeks (hopefully in August), I'll be accompanying him on the flight (I'm british). He was previously refused before we were married due to insufficient funds on his part(even though I was sponsoring him at the time, I had a job and was living in the uk) as well as insufficient ties to the country he was applying from(he had been in his job for a year, which they stated wasn't long enough).

This time it will be My parents who will be sponsoring him, as I moved to his country to join him and have yet to find a job, but I do have an ample amount of savings. But like previously, I'm worried the same problem will arise. He has savings of over £1500 and about the same amount in his current account. He will have an additional payment of over £1000 for freelance work he has done, which Im worried when deposited into his account might look a bit suspicious to a visa official, like mentioned in this thread it could look like "Money Lodgement". So we're both not sure what to do *dilemma* He has now been in the same job for over 2 years and has just rented a new apartment with a years contract (Will this be sufficient? I'm overloading myself with info from everything I've read and over worrying myself.

Any advice at all, would be great.
Thanks in advance.

A bit of additional info, I've looked into help from a visa specialist but wondering whether I should save money and do it myself, or let the specialist handle the application.
