WizardOfNG: Making the Country "work for the common man" cannot happen in even 3 years and without fundamental reforms that will come with 'teething pain'.
Tinubu is not causing hunger as you, an educated man, erroneously believe. Many factors are. For example banditry that showed it's ugliest face last week when bandits demanded 20 million from farmers in a Benue community to harvest or face "serious attack".
Me and you both know bandits are heavily abetted by political and armed forces might in the North. The situation there is simply a macabre joke.
A minefield of traps, abetting of terror, treachery, betrayal and deliberate undermining and endangerment of the dedicated armed forces personnel trying to fight all manners of insurgencies in the North.
Yet you, an educated man, think such a situation can be resolved overnight?
I think the educated class, which I believe you belong to, are letting Nigeria down seriously.
Who will take the right and truthful message, per the reality of Nigeria, to the illiterates at Street level when even your sort feel government, anywhere in the world, is supposed to dash fish rather than teach citizens to fish? The question is has the government shown commitment in making things work? As you can see their welfare is their priority. |

thesicilian: Well thinking Nigerians do not believe Peter Obi is different from Tinubu and Atiku or even Buhari. If we were to do a census of obidients today, more than 90% would be Igbos, and the massive support is purely tribal/sentimental. Putting an old equipment in a new carton does not change the quality of the equipment. But one thing you can't take away from him is that the man is frugal. |

If Labour union and TUC want let them strike for 100 years, it is their right, but we that are not under the payroll of the FG should not be paying for their madness.
Now who will compensate people selling frozen food? Will Discos remove the 48 hours still counting from the bill they will issue to customers on postpaid meters? It is because Nigerians are too docile, by now with the way things are it is not only power grid that they will be talking about it is how the will escape this country with their lives intact that they will be worrying about. |

[quote author=casualobserver post=130044242]NLC are comedians. I repeat the GDP per capita (the economic value of output ) of the average worker in Nigeria is N3m a year or N250k a month. This is the average worker not the lowest worker. Therefore the monthly economic output of a minimum wage worker is closer to N80k possibly even 40k. You cannot expect to be paid beyond your economic output.
I repeat we are a very inefficient economy with unproductive workers. If it takes 5 people to do the work that ordinarily 1 person should do, then the 5 will share the wages of 1 person. This is how economics works.
The government is just wasteful, hence above 100k is feasible. |
