djeoziv: Hi, Thanks for your availability. I need your help in renting accommodation 5-10min walk to university? Can you link me to an agent or give me a clue. You can try this website. Landlords and agents advertise accommodation there. Students with vacancies in their flats also post into the website. https://www.birminghamstudentpad.co.uk/Accommodation Hope it helps. |

DeeTus: There's nothing wrong having a scholarship to study abroad at any level. Your cousin's visa denial might be as a result of how he responded to questions.
Are you able to post his transcript for further analysis? This is the visa refusal letter.

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: High school with scholarship?. Asides that, the VO knows it's counter productive to leave Nigeria and go and complete three grades in America (ss1-3) when it can easily be done in Nigeria for far cheaper cost. My advice- don't waste your time . let the kid finish secondary school here and apply for undergrad when he's done. Edit : Any sane VO would see this as Ill advised immigration Intent , Grade schools in America are either Tax payer funded, or freak'n expensive (Stuyvesant, phillip Exeter et Al), so the whole scholarship thingy sounds like visa mill charade.once again let the kid do ss1-3 here, at least he can start now to build a solid college application profile to get sweet financial packages for undergrad. Thanks. |

Hi everyone. Please I need help urgently.
My cousin got admission for high school (grade 9) in the US with scholarship. He went for his visa interview this morning and was told that he did not meet with the requirements. If anyone can give an idea of what kind of documents he is meant to submit, I would appreciate it. He went his I-20 form, visa payment confirmation, SEVIS payment confirmation. From my understanding he doesn't need to write SATS or any other exam since he is going to high school not college. Is there anything else he needs to take with him? This is quite urgent as he is meant to resume September 25.
Thanks |

Iamtomilade: Check Pages 5, 6 and 7 of your self assessment form and pages 7 & 8 of your visa application form Thanks. On the pages you mentioned, I wrote the maintenance required which is £9135. Whereas, my account balance is actually more than that. Am I meant to write my account balance there or the required maintenance funds? Please help clarify. |

sleyflash: hi, The TB test centre is at 1 Isaac John street, GRA Ikeja. Note that it's at the junction of Isaac John street and Oduduwa way. It costs N47,500 for an adult(11 years and above) and N19,000 for children below 11years. You will need to book an appointment by mailing iomlagosmedicalbooking@iom.int or calling 234807 219 1112. After your booking has been confirmed, you'll need to pay at any standard chartered bank and take the teller +your passport to IOM office on your test date. Note that there's a different teller for IOM payments so ask for it when you get to the bank. IOM account number is : 0001847002 Account name: international organization for migration.
You need to get TB certificate confirmed then you can comfortably start your visa application and choose an appointment date.
I hope that helps. TB test now costs N48900 |

Hello all. This forum has been very helpful. Thank you to everyone that contributes. Please I need help with my application.
I started the application with a travel date of September 23 as my start date was September 25. But once I realised I won't be able to make the application in time, I contacted the school and my start date was moved to October. The issue now is I have a new travel date since my start date has been changed but I noticed that I can't change the travel date unless I delete the application and start a new one.
Can anyone advice me on what to do? Thanks |

Advisory: 2009 I had a salary account of 190K and I paid my fees £10250 from the account. by the time I was ready to apply for visa 2 months after paying fees, I had only about 90k left in the account so I asked that my Fixed Deposit be liquidated and dropped into my account (3m). I printed the statement to reflect a days transaction. People did say I wouldn't get it then though lol and I did
2013. I came to Naija to apply for Visa, this time my account was dormant reactivated it and I put a stop so no debit can come out to assure my friend that I will not run with his money. It had about 20K in it asked the friend to transfer 8m, and printed a days statement again. Now I have always filled into all my Visa applications that I had investment to the tune of the money I always transfer so if they ask or something I would have said it was a fixed deposit. NOTE: A fixed deposit in a bank used to work this way, money comes into your account, bank opens a fixed account at head office and money leaves your normal account. when investment matures money is dropped into your normal account if you not interested in rolling over. Investment could be anything from Fixed Deposit, to FOREX, to fund management. etc I hope it makes sense Thank you for the details. Makes a lot of sense. Appreciate your help. |

LaaJiblik: If I were you, I wouldn't do that. I would use an existing account. It's suspicious to just have new account, no previous transactions, no latter transactions. Just 1 huge deposit of over 4,000,000 naira. Then a statement. I hope you realise that the bank statement you will then submit will simply be 1 page and 1 line? Thanks for your reply. That's my worry too. Please is there anyone who used a new account and their application was successful? |

Hi. Is it okay to open a new account and deposit the money for the maintenance funds in it and start the 28 days count or does it have to be an account that has been running for longer? |
