Nothing really determines balon dor. It's all political. 5-5 is okay for Messi and Ronaldo. Enough with this stupid obsession. It would make sense for Griezmann or Modric to win it. Messi and Ronaldo are helped by their popularity and rivalry, El clasico etc. If Messi and Ronaldo did exactly the same thing Griezmann did this year, they would definitely win the balon dor but Griezmann most likely will not win it because 1)his club is not popular 2)he himself isn't as popular
