Infact the ijębù thumb rule is ….if it has not entered close to exam season that you are sure your kids will be spending the term in that school dont pay….

If 2hrs into the Dangote refinery IPO they sold over 1.4trillion out of 2.1 trillion they needed.
By implication they should have met the target 2.1trillion within the first 24hrs of the IPO.

It means all those extras that applied/would apply after the first day should exceed 10trillion.

It also implies that over 10trillion will be rejected. If them return all that rejected money into the market ehhhh hmmmm bulls go pursue person oh.

I liked your post...but the reason why church universites are expensive is simple...they have to pay salaries at the same rate as the government does for its universites, and also pay for better hostel facilites than any government university....and they have to do it without any government support whatsoever (except, as Oyedepo of living faith once joked...in getting land..and even then he still had to pay for the land!)

University na expensive thing. Even if the pastor had not bought that car, and had bought second hand VW golf, he would still need to charge high fees for any university owned by the church.

The best thing that church members can do is to either get the rich ones among them to endow a scholarship fund, then comapnies and other agencies already do scholarships, and then I don't know if NELFUND does scholarship for private students.

But university is expensive. The private universites, and even government universities in countries like the US and the UK are paid for with heavy duty loans taken out by students. (When Obama got into the white house, one of the first things he did was to set up two accounts just to save money for his children's university education. Had he never become president, na loan him pikin go take enter university), The countries like Germany and Denmark that do free university education, do so at the expense of tax that chops half the income of everyone, before other taxes, and loans come in. And so forth.

Crude prices dropped yes. However, when an order for crude was placed at a higher price and that shipment is on the sea, gets delivered to the refinery, the gantry price of the refinery will be determined by how much the distilled crude that came in last cost.

Every business fixes its current price based on the cost of inputs. If prices of inputs later drop before existing stock gets exhausted, depending on the level of demand elasticity in that particular industry, the business will maintain its old price using existing stock. The business may only reduce price when new stock bought at lesser prices, are utilised. It takes 5-6 weeks for a ship from the US where Dangote buys his crude, to reach Nigeria. Whatever happens with crude prices after that ship has left the port of origin, has no effect on how much the refinery will sell. Dangote will reduce his price at a later time when he buys crude at reduced prices. Assuming ofcourse the price of crude doesn't increase before his current stock in the refinery needs to be replenished.

That said, why are we focusing on Dangote? Why is no one worried that Nigerian breweries, Guinness Nigeria and Intercontinental breweries seem to have colluded to keep the price of beer high? Beer increased prices when dollar to naira was 1900 or so. The exchange rate is down but beer prices haven't dropped. That to me is a bigger problem.

You see doctors, That profession here in Nigeria is filled with very arrogant, narcissistic and useless set of people. Unadulterated scumbags. Butchers in lab coat. They care more about money than saving one's life.

Intresting. My dad really tried for us in every ramifications. We had everything we wanted as kids. My mom spoilt us silly when we were kids. But after she sadly passed away in 2012, it wasn't that easy for my dad to train four kids in the university at once. Anyways, we are all doing well today and he's eating the fruits of his labour. But l will never give birth to more than 2 kids no matter what, cus anything can happen at any time.
In the same vein, my dad married quite late at 35, so by the time we were all in the university, he was already a retired Bank Auditor relying mostly on pensions and stoke brokerage. So l will never have kids once l cross 35. Training kids in old age no be beans at all.

There's this question I want to ask. Please can a woman choose a man whom she want to marry? Because there was a time I kept chasing my ex and she told me that I shouldn't pressure her,that shes the one who has the power to choose but I think she was wrong. From my own perspective so far,I think and believe it's a man who has the ability to choose the kind of woman he wants to settle down with and the time to do so.
