personally, I believe people may be likely answering wrongly some of the questions that determine if one is qualified for IW, some of the questions are crafted somewhat, so if you don't think it tru properly, you may choose an IW disqualifying answer......the system is very straight forward

Hello everyone . Please does anyone know the solution for people still having GTB Mrs receipt issues . My parents visa was paid for June last year before the migration. I try to upload the receipt on AVITS, it says receipt not found. I have raised so many tickets, the last ticket is in hold., they claimed to have escalated the ticket.

I have sent a couple of V45 emails to lagos NIV , yet nothing. The last email is sent for V46-mrv issues, lagos niv replied that I should still go back to AVITS. Please anyone to help me, I’ll really appreciate it’s been months on this issue

AM in the same boat with you, countless mails, chats, tickets....1 of the staff advice me to make fresh payment, as my appointment is reading EXPIRED, what is the status of your appointment on ur avits dashboard?..a few hv been lucky, they said the were sent mail to appear at the embassy for interview with 1 wk notice

Stayed 10 days on my last trip and while I was not refused IW (I could not use my GTB receipt due to some glitch), I was instead sent an email, inviting me for a physical interview. In fact, my AVITS has no indication that I was book for/ attended an interview.

Thankfully, it was successful (4 people interviewed before me - a family of 3 who were "white slipped", and 3 others who were denied. All for B2). Short interview too and based on what I do for work, where I plan to stay in the US, longest time I've been in the US (1month) and reiteration that I can't use the visa for birthing purposes per their 2020 laws since the visa is for 5 years (at this point, I was a bit sure I was going to be white slipped). She then handed me the white slip and told me my passport will be ready for pick up in about a week, which was true to stated timeline.

due to a glitch am also unable to use my old gt receipt. i hv created a ticket on avits and also sent emails to consular abuja, nothing tangible. and my trip is in march. what extra effort did you make b4 they sent you the mail for physical interview?...when was your trip scheduled for?...want to know if they are sending the mails based on nearness of trip...

Please I need your advice on my family tourist visa application. I booked for an appointment almost a year ago, and my interview date is now close.
My wife is currently heavily pregnant, and at the time of the application, she was not pregnant.
My question is how can I explain to the VO that I am traveling for vacation/tourism with my wife who is heavily pregnant.
Please note that our kids are also included in this application.

if u wanna play it safe...best you postpone the appointment, till after her delivery...unless u r a gambling man...and wan gamble with ur visa fees.
VO is likely gonna deny the whole family...unless u lucky to meet an understanding VO..that will deny only ur wife..

alternatively if the preggy is under 3 months...u can proceed with ur plans...n come back and hv ur baby in naija

SO just got a sad news from the AVITS people today, after several engagements on chats and emails to consular abuja etc. a rep who appears knowledgeable asked me the status of my application/appointment,
I missed the initial IW dropoff due to the ois/dhl mixup, and my appointment says expired. and all attempts to reschedule or rebook an appointment using the old gt bank payment has been unsuccessful.

so the agent says I have to pay a new fee, if my status is showing expired, and couldn't explain or give a reasonable response why my payment made in july 2024 would be expired, when I hvnt made an reschedule attempt whatsoever...and missed my initial date due to the americans own internal confusion from the switch to avits.

am really feeling pissed, and its painful no one to complain to or escalate.

anyone who booked recently, pls confirm the earliest dates for IW nd dropoff for abuja

Hello everyone. Please my parents are trying to interview for a visiting visa but they were unable to secure the same date for interview and have used up all rescheduling slots.

Is it advisable for them to go separately or are the chances of approval higher if they go together?

i dont understand what or why you are asking, of course its better if they interview together...and you/they should have factored that in and juggled the dates when rescheduling.....now u have lost that capability, its up to you to decide if you have extra money to gamble with, by making a fresh payment and then try to match the date of 1 person.....ie if u decide their being interviewed together is worth the fresh MRV fee

My parents had an appointment from the previous provider that was migrated over but showing a past date (sometime in August) and 'Appointment Cancelled' state. I have opened tickets on the AVIT website but not getting response. My parents are based in Osun State, and I see there are OIS offices in Ibadan, Akure, Lagos etc. Can they go to the Ibadan or even the Lagos office with the appointment from the old provider without an AVITS appointment? Thank you.

no, they will be turned back, from my experience..
what the system wants you to do,is to create a fresh appointment request, select bank payment, when you get to payment section...then enter your old gt receipt number, and you should be able to book a new appointment......

however what I suspect is that this route may erase your IW/dropbox status and translate to a physical interview ////// perhaps someone who has tried this route can confirm for us

don't complicate issues , just try and reschedule. the Avits website is fond of classifying IW as normal visa...mine experience is somewhat similar to yours, but I can see you have 2 reschedule attempts in yours, I would advice you quickly use it and select a date, mine I was only seeing 2025 dates when I tried to reschedule...till after a while, I lost the capability to even reschedule, as an error msg pops out....it then wants me to start a fresh application, which am not keen on doing...hence am stuck

Those avits call center ppl don’t know shit! I would advise they book another appointment on ois and go drop off their passports.As long as your visa expired within the last 48 months you qualify for IW,the only situation where you will need to go to the consulate is if you’re given a 21g letter after you do your drop box .Book an appointment on ois that matches Avits date and go and drop off .

is the toddler your only child?..if no your other children have visas?...if yes VO MIGHT HAVE profiled your family as jakpa possibles, hence reapplying soon after when nothing has changed in your circumstances may not achieve much.

You erroneously entered a wrong date of birth for ur husband....or the system changed the correct date you entered??.

This issa a complex issue.
Try contacting the aventum people to see if anything can be done.

I dont know if it is pure or not, but her last dropbox was at walter Carrington not DHL as informed by her. Also, she might be mistaken. Anyway, since you have done your drop box, can you be of help. For dropbox, aside the IW letter,
payment confirmation, passport,DS-160 confirmation, one passport photograph and the OIS letter what is required? Thanks.

For dropbox, all the docs/items the US embassy needs/asked you to bring is stated in the IW appointment letter....i really dont understand why u are fixated on wanting to add extra documents.....

this ur story no pure...nobody does drop offs for IW at the embassy...even before the change. all drops off b4 was at dhl....and presently OIS office

I need advice because I'm not sure if I'm being selfish or if my wife is acting unreasonable and out of line.

I've been married to my wife for about two years now, and we have a son. We're currently planning to relocate, and by God's grace, we should be out of this country in a couple of months.

My wife and I have discussed severally even before marriage about her getting cosmetic surgery after we finishe having all our children, which I’ve always felt is a nice idea. I've always mentioned that it should happen later, after she's done giving birth. Recently, she brought up the possibility of getting the surgery done sooner, and I thought she was joking. However, she kept repeating it and then I playfully said she could go ahead if she had the money, I didn't think she was serious and if even if she was , I didn’t think it was something that would be up to 3M( pardon my ignorance)

However, she brought it up again three weeks ago, and I realized she was serious. When I asked how much it would cost, she told me it was 8 million naira. I was shocked cause it was even way more than I expected. Now, My wife is a businesswoman, and while her business is doing well, I feel she can afford the surgery but it's really going to eat probably 90% of her savings.

She knows I have savings of about 25 million naira, which I've been accumulating for years for our relocation. Also, recently, I’ve spent around 5 million on processing the move, and I intend to use the remaining funds for travel expenses(flight,e.t.c) rent, food, and living costs for about 6 to 8 months in the country (it's a cheap European country) of which she is very aware cause I have informed her severally about.


I was shocked when she suggested I take some of my savings to help fund the surgery, asking for around 2 to 4 million naira. I found this request annoying and unreasonable. Although she didn't ask directly, but where does she expect me to get that kind of money if not from the savings?

To me, her body is still in good shape, although not as great as it used to be but I understand it was caused by child birth and I feel she is better than most ladies/ mother of one in terms of body shape( even though she feels the boobs aren’t firm anymore and the stomach isn’t flat anymore but I’m not complaining and it’s okay to me, she’s still very attractive to me ) , while I understand her desire for improvement, I think it should wait until we’re more financially stable. We should be focusing on investing and accumulating wealth, not spending on what I see as a luxury. Now, she's a matured lady as that was one of the reason I married her. We are both in our 30s also. So I really do not understand why this sudden frenzy about body work. Worst off, she doesn’t seem to have a sensible reason for wanting to do it now. All she says just doesn’t make sense cause the only thing I can grab from everything she’s said was she wants to look better and with the way Nigeria is going , it’s going to be way expensive in coming years.

Additionally, I feel it was unfair for her to bring this up suddenly, especially since she didn’t communicate this desire early enough. If she had, I might have been able to save up some money for her. Instead, it feels like she’s trying to make me touch the savings without saying it directly, which I feel is very disappointing.

I have told her point blank that I cant touch that savings and even if I want to give her something it won’t be substantial cause I really don’t see the necessity of the surgery at this time and it's coming very impromptu . Not wanting to sound like an unsupportive husband, I told her I can give her something but I don’t know how much yet. She asked for the range and I told her I'm not sure but it can't more than 800k and she said okay, but I know she’s unhappy with that amount.

Since our discussion, she's been trying to act like everything is fine but I know deep down she's angry cause she's been giving some kind of silent treatment which she knows I hate. Thinking about the issue just spoils my mood and makes me angry, no matter how hard I try to think about it, I feel even madder for even wanting to give her something as much as 800k cause i don’t feel happy about it and I'm sure she even feels it’s too small( which is what makes me angry cause I’m squeezing an unplanned 800k and she feels it’s way too to small or equal to me not giving her anything)

So, what do you guys think? Am I being unreasonable? Feel like I should discuss with someone but we have agreed not to discuss stuffs with third party that’s why I’m coming here to do this anonymously

I know if I try to discuss with her to ask if she’s acting this way because of how our last discussion ended, she’ll deny that it’s not it and nothing is wrong.

I apologize for the lengthy post, but I'm open to questions or clarifications.

women are largely emotional beings, while men are logical creatures.....you need to downplay the logic and throw in some emotional reasoning..for you to get out of this mess.

1. you guys agreed she wud hv her body done after you have finished having kids....----have you guys finished having kids??
2. what area of her body does she want to touch, stomach alone or boobs inclusive....abi nyash follow too?
3. women are mostly irrational and manipulative, and only respect the man the cant manipulate.....they will turn around to disrespect you, if you have made a stance...and then turn around to change it cos of their winning
4. you are in tight corner now...and if not handled properly may degenerate into bigger issues....especially as you guys are relocating abroad. you need extreme wisdom to navigate this and going forward...if you don't want your marriage to end prematurely.....unfortunately am limited by what I cud pass onto you here, but try and search for materials on female psychology etc so as to arm your self with proper knowledge.

any woman who uses silent treatment to express her annoyance, is still a baby...and may likely degenrate to starving you of sexs, food, affection etc.........

You can dhl your documents to a close friend/family in the city and have them drop off and pick up for you. That's what I had to do at the end. The screenshot shows the steps for someone picking up for you.

pls those that did IW/dropbox dropoff at IOS office abuja, how long was the wait?,,, am thinking of booking a morning flight to abuja and an afternoon departure flight, ie budgeting about 3hrs for the dropoff at OIS office....pls confirm if this is enough for those who dropped off at OIS Abuja.

2NDly, are they strict on time, ie you must appear by the exact time you booked for the appointment?. my flight to abuja arrives about 9am, wud prefer to book the 10am drop off slot so as to finish early and head back to the airport, but doubting if the taxi can get me to OIS maitama office y 10am

scroll tru the display and confirm how many watts its displaying
its likely a fake /rebadged or substandard protect...try running a 1.5hp sumo or AC on it..and see how many watts it displays on the inverter

So there is some confusion going on, for IW dropoff, on OIS website, there is option for dhl drop off in benin city dhl office.

I went there to drop off and the dhl stacf dire ted me to OIS office in abuja or lagos.
Has anybody been able to dropoff outside lagos or abuja?.
Why would OIS put untrue information on their website?.

I have a close relative who’s scheduled for interview in a few weeks from now on the B1/B2 visa application.
Here’s the question:
1. Person inviting him is a citizen (served the USA govt and retired) hence the paychecks is wats submitted as POF.
But does this relative here still need to submit bank statement as POF? He runs a family business and is a co-signatory to the account(not a salary job)
2. Wat stronger ties can he go along with aside from Land document to show that he’s not gonna overstay?
3. Does he need to go wit medical fitness result? Police character ?
4. Is it expedient to book a round trip flight ahead of the interview date to show you have no plans to overstay?

THE EMBASSY people dont care..even if president biden is the one inviting him..its of no consequence...the onus is on the applicant to prove strong ties to his home country nigeria...strong ties are usually proved by having a great job in a reputable company and or being married ...the embassy peeps gat no time to be looking at documents,..lands cud be sold , or documents forged. you say applicant is a young man, i hope he works in a solid establishment...being young, plus not working in a good place..inceases the chances of denial...but let him go try his luck, most people had 1 or several denials b4..they finally succeded

Not all locations have an OIS office, like benin or portharcourt, they direct people to dhl office for drop off...i have one scheduled for this week, wil see how it goes then

An African woman breaks down in tears after being treated poorly in the Dubai Airport.

nonsense..while acknowledging that africans are sometimes racially profiled, airlines advice that you arrive early enough at the airport to breeze tru security checks on time and have spare time to board your flight.

its not the airlines prob;em, if you are delayed by security checks, no amount of crying will make the airline staff rebook you on the next flight when the issue isn't from them, who will authorise or pay for it.......airline business isn't charity.....even airpeace nigeria wudnt rebook you, if you mother or sibling died the morning of your flight and you came 10 mins late................she is just being childish...payup and rebook, no be everything be racism and worth coming to post on social media.
