Please I am planning to go green and need your input on which is a better option between flooded and AGM/SMF batteries as I plan on getting it.

With the proper maintenance (battery rotation, equalization, etc) which amongst the 2 will last longer (I can't currently afford to get a new 24v lithium bank).

Proposed set up.
1. 1.5kva 24v luminous hybrid inverter
2. 4x 350W panels
3. 60A Techfine or Powmr MPPT CC
4. 24V 200AH to 305AH battery bank.

FLOODED WILL last more than smf, epsolar mppt cc has inbuilt 30day programmable equalization, so its abetter choice...i dont know if techfine has it as well, powmr doesnt have it.

why are you going for luminous hybrid, since you are planning on using standalone cc?, why not save money and go for the cheaper non hybrid inverter??.....again you say you would go for lithium in the future---if so you need an inverter with editable charge voltage settings.
sorotec 24v 2.4kw hybrid with inbuilt 4kw mppt cc would have been the best for you if you can see it, costs about 200k. has everything u need now and for future expansion

The sonic ones are highly effective. The estate maintenance guys use same in my work place for pest control. I use the sonic ones in Nigeria mostly as mosquitoes repellent. They work like magic. The solar sonic will be very ideal for Nigeria but I've not used this before but I know solar garden lights can last more than 5 years without maintenance. So I trust the solar sonic system will last just as much.

Nigeria snakes no go stubborn pass rattlesnake for USA na when it comes to sonic sound. Here we use sonic sound to keep troublesome youths away from town center, shopping centers and bus/train stations.

I have read through all the comment about the design of the 2 bedroom apartment. Where the building is being built the rent for a 2 bedroom goes for 800k above. Presently the building is on decking stage. I believe tenants also deserve privacy. I considered a lot before I started building.

Opinions are like anuses, everyone has one, carefully weigh ypour options and the kind of tenants you are targetting, as far back as 2008, i rented a 2br with visitor toilet and both rooms ensuite, thus 3 WC FOR 350k, in woji axis, and it was gr8. everything depends on location and target tenants.

my dads old house in the village, his rm isnt ensuite, and we hv told him severally, for us to make it ensuite for him, he has vehemently refused. , guess he doesnt understand the concept of toilet being in the same space as the room. for an 800k rent 2br house in present day nigeria. they sure deserve and will like the 3 WC arrangment, for a sub 250k a year rent, its a no brainer putting 3wc based on cost/clientel

If you think the cost of wood is too much, discuss with him about buying the materials yourself at your own preferred sawmill.

If he will climb up and come down, I think 80k is not too bad for a renovation job.

Here’s my piece of advice:

1. Negotiate with him and be upfront with him about your budget and projections.
2. Don’t assume it’ll be cheaper. Renovation is never cheap.
3. No builder has X-Ray vision when it comes to renovations. Brace up to spend more.

The idea is during the day, as long as there is sun my fridge and freezer get powered. That off and on cycling of compressor in my experience takes a toll on most batteries, car batteries are more suited for providing high start up current.

if based on slight savings in cost, deep cycle vs car battery, but unless you are running a high wattage fridge, i think the surge is neglible. say a 150w fridge will surge to 900w at startup. @12v, this is about 75amps, which is well within the territory of deep cycle battery, a car starter needs upto 400 to 700amps at start up, if your device has such hefty requirements..then would i buy into your theory....

in other forums i belong to, RV owners and campers, swap out their car batteries to deep cycle, cos of its ability to power their loads without flinching

My 12v 900vac luminous inverter went off yesterday. I used a 950 watts drill on it. I heard the warning sound shrill so i paused and the sound stopped. I then continued. Within few seconds of use it shrilled again and then went off. I unscrewed it checked the fuses and pressed the tripller and it came on again. But this time the power indicator came on. When i put the inverter on it came on normally but did not show any indication of pushing out any ac power to the house. I have looked but cant see anything burnt or blown in it. I bought fuel and used generator and all lights in the house came on, though i did not test the inverter since i had disconnected it. I will buy fuel and test it with gen this morning. I think i have used the drill in it before without any problem but i cant be too sure.
But in the meanwhile, what could have happened and the solution? Thanks.

Before you go disassembling the inverter, tey this simply first and pray hard..
Disconnect the positive cable from the inverter for 15secs, and reconnect. You may be lucky
