eGarage:Not too expensive for those abroad but very very very expensive for people in Nigeria based on the exchange rate. We don’t produce them (yet), so they are imported items. A leaf charging cable costs about $600, which is over 200K. And we’re not even talking about the battery of the car itself, a battery that inevitably needs to be replaced from time to time under normal usage, just like inverter batteries used to supply lights. do you know how expensive the battery is? Not to mention if the battery mistakenly damages before its normal replacement time due to surge or electrical failure or charging malfunction. So electric cars are not cheap to maintain at all, and for now are not 100% reliable, otherwise everyone in America and Europe would be driving electric vehicles already. But here in Nigeria we don’t even have the support system in place to handle it, no EV stations, no EV lube bays, no EV technicians - so how does the owner cope here? Then again, using generators to charge is a risky thing because it might damage the battery quicker than expected. So for now, I don’t think it’s a good idea to buy a EV car in a non-EV standardized country. https://www.amazon.com/Nissan-LEAF-EV-Charger-UL-Listed/dp/B00BNY14IE |
adudu208:Don’t try it!!! You will be stranded most of the time because we don’t have EV stations common here. Unless you’re planning to buy and keep it in your garage as a souvenir. Better to buy a hybrid instead that charges itself. |

Electric throttle-less fully computerized smart cars are about to take over the world. We are already at the threshold of this truly remarkable historic innovation. Imagine driving a car with only buttons and apps? Dear God please let me live long and grow old to use these smart machines ![]() |
erico2k2:This is not a matter of human correctness. This is a matter of personal validation. You eat porcupine. But don’t say everyone eats porcupine, because that’s not true. If a poll were conducted, i’m pretty sure that majority of people in this world don’t eat porcupines. And as for the Asians you mentioned eating porcupines, that’s not surprising. Some Asians have been known to eat cats, dogs, lizards etc, some even eat human babies. IMO that is not normal. |
erico2k2:Not ‘everyone’ eats it. I have never eaten and will never eat porcupine in my life. Same thing with snakes, monkeys, monitor lizards, bats, rats and those other strange creatures some funny people use to eat and post on nairaland. Not all Nigerians are abnormal people, some of us are still normal please. |

girl4rmspace:Why would I lie? I work for neither companies, nor do I have any investments in both. I was speaking as a car lover and enthusiast. I don’t dislike Lamborghini. In fact, I’m a fan of the Lamborghini Gallardo. But it’s good we set the record straight as far as SUVs are concerned. 2019 Lamborghini Urus = 650Hp 2018 Jeep Trackhawk = 707Hp The numbers don’t lie! The Trackhawk is the most powerful SUV right now - it beats all of the rest! A wonderful improvement of the Cherokee SRT (that one was under 500Hp). American technology is just the BEST! https://www.jeep.com/2018/grand-cherokee/performance.html Check out the drag race below that highlights the Hp/weight ratio: 2016 Range Rover Sport vs Porsche Cayenne Turbo vs Cherokee SRT - who wins? Porsche Cayenne Turbo wins by far https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFx8RlXCOpk Range Rover SVR = 2,333kg / 542bhp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT = 2,418kg / 462bhp The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S = 2,310kg / 562bhp. Check out the a “small” list of BIG cars the Trackhawk will 100% guaranteed BEAT in a drag race. It will shock you . The Trackhawk is a super-SUV! ![]() http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/08/10-cars-the-jeep-track-hawk-will-beat-in-a-drag-race.html/amp All hail the current, undisputed, one true King of SUVs: The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BygLK9BOOqo |
jaxxy:Trackhawk = 707Hp, 5258lb weight Urus = 650hp, 4850lb weight Weight difference = 408 pounds (Urus is lighter) Hp difference = 57hp (Trackhawk more powerful) P = W/t, so t = W/P Trackhawk = 7.437 secs Urus = 7.462 secs Therefore, Trackhawk is faster even though it weighs more. Now imagine if the Trackhawk was built as light as the Urus, the Urus won’t even come close to the Trackhawk at all .The Urus is the bling-bling type of SUV, i agree with you on that, has bling-bling interior, but still the simplicity and detailing of the Trackhawk is attractive in its own way too. But for that amount of $200K, it is ridiculous. The Trackhawk is better X2. |
AutoJoshNG:OP correct yourself! The 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the MOST Powerful SUV in the world, and it beats the Urus hands down. The Lamborghini Urus is no longer the fastest street-legal SUV in the world anymore, and has been beaten by Jeep’s Trackhawk. All that “World first Super SUV” is nothing but marketing hype to promote sales. It is a pure lie. The 2018 Trackhawk is greater than the 2019 Urus. It is the real #1 Super SUV in the world. |
Complete waste of money, and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo imitation. A 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has 707hp, does 0 - 60 in about 3.5s, can tow about 7000 pounds and costs less than $100,000. If, A 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk > a 2019 Lamborghini Urus Then imagine how much greater than it a 2019 Trackhawk will be. The Urus is overpriced and under-capable ![]() Imagine paying over $100,000 extra just for the name “Lamborghini” only? Never not me! I’d rather buy 2 Trackhawks and still have some over $10K change in my wallet. Right now in the SUV universe, The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the King of SUVs. The Jeep automaker rules ![]()

Realitycheck007, i think what you need is a reality check with yourself first. This is 2017, any fiancée that sleeps from 11pm - 7am is a wife material. The ones that are not wife material are the ones that do night vigil at Quilox etc and sleep at different hotels everyday. Reality check for every wise man: Play a trivial game with your fiancée called “mention the places you know”. Then when it is your turn to ask questions, ask your fiancée to name 10 hotels she knows. If she can conveniently name 7 or more hotels, then your fiancée is likely to be a runs girl material, not a wife material ![]() |
