year I made a tryst with destiny,scoring 253 in UTME and crowning it up
with 304 in PUTME.The stark reality is that I did what anyone else
would ordinarily do.It was not only by dint of my wits but ALLAH's mercy
uplifted me.History does not repeat itself in exact details but it can
surely be made again.The bottom line of my ordeal is that unmatched
distinction earned me more enemies than friends.Today am a law student
of ABU and popularly called CONCORD.

Am presently a student studying English(Language) in a prestigious federal University here in Nigeria. I've an undying passion to study law but was admitted for English. I sat for U.T.M.E exam in 100L,applied for Law but didn't get admitted. Now am in my 200L moving to 300L in september and I sat for the just concluded U.T.M.E exams and passed but have not registered for the P-ume due to my indecision. Now,am so confused as whether I should complete my degree in English and study law afterwards or opt out of English and go for the law degree. Your candid advice is needed

sure,U̶̲̥̅̊'re gud to go if U̶̲̥̅̊ can pass ur Pume nd score like 65% or more...mostly,candidates who choose other courses like BCH,MCB e.t.c. Are moved into dat dept U̶̲̥̅̊ chose...I wish U̶̲̥̅̊ best of luck

abbeywasc: @mochi1, i admit it is possible to get in with less than 220 BUT ONLY IF u ar apply for courses lyk human kinetics,counselling wt a 200 cut off point.
For those who chose unilorin as 2nd choice, i did d same and was admitted into accounting in 2009. Jst make sure u ace ur jamb. Gud luck.

am also a student of UNILORIN and I met students with scores less than 220 during my registration that were admitted...some are always lucky with the admission though cuz there are a lot of people with a high score in jamb nd Pume dat are still not admitted...

My dad refused, He said I should take JAMB again,cause he didn't like the course I was given. Despite the fact that I told him I would switch in 200 level, I even got my uncles to plead on my behalf, he refused. I pray I get admitted for law this time. if not it would only mean I've wasted one year for nothing, but I strongly believe I'll get it this time even though my JAMB score is annoyingly low. What's up with you anyway?

I think we are both in the situation of course...was admitted 4 English instead of my LAW with 264 nd 73% in my utme nd Pume respectively...had to write jamb again dis year but D̶̲̥̅̊ score is jst too low to compete..well, I av dat hope in me I'll b admitted

@abbeywasc,the 220 mark na wash...I have friends who scored below 220 last year and they were admitted coming in with the 1st list without knowing any1.To all prospective candidates,jst prepare 4 the Pume cuz it is based on general knowledge(English,Math,Current affairs,sciences)...Even after passing jamb and Pume based on merit,a candidate might not be admitted still..I am a WITNESS

Dat shld b after the second semester exam...we are on break now and dis semester should be over by june...

I wanted to study LAW which is my dream course

Hello prospective students of unilorin....I was once in shoes and that was last year and it was stated that the cut off mark for pume then was 220..my brothers,I dnt think dat was followed because I know of many people that were admitted with there score less than 220 nd pume less than 70..Like me for instance,I scored 264 in jamb nd 73 in Pume wanted to study which its cut off was 220..to my greatest surprise,thinking with my high score that I was on merit,my name came out with the third list and not even for the course I wanted whereas people didn't even up to what I scored based on merit...the problem wit d admission there again is that u could be admitted into the dept of ur choice and might later be moved away from d dept to a lower dept even after been cleared...Am a student of the dept of ENGLISH

I think the scores given in this year's utme are very wrong.Imagine,last year isat 6or jamb,I scored 264 and dis year,I scored 213...the most painful of it all is that I was expecting a higher score in my two major subject which are govt nd lit scoring 50 nd 60 respectively compared to last year's own scoring 68 nd 72 respectively..now,ma chance of getting admission into my preferred faculty of LAW is slim now whereas even when I had a higher utme score of 264 nd putme score of 73% last year,I wasn't admitted.well I still have dat fate in me no matter the score.Actually,I was expecting my mark to be within the range of 270-290 having prepared well for it..
