As a buyer

If you contact a seller on nairaland, and they insist on taking payment first, ask for their moniker on nairaland. Dig it up, match the number with what you're seeing on whatsapp or sms or calls (whichever medium you're using ). Ask for vouches. Contact the most popular or all of the vouches presented by the seller. Don't accept phone numbers of the people he's claiming can vouch for him from him. Find the numbers yourself. Use the nairaland search tool. Ensure the moniker spellings match a to z. No excuses like spare number or office phone or bedroom phone number. Most of all legit traders have one phone nunber that can never change for any reason at all.

Note that scammers will likely mention the names of popular persons on the thread or nairaland as their vouches hoping to claim legitimacy by so doing. You must ask these persons personally for a vouch.

If scammed victims can go after all these account holders then scammers will really be having a tough time. Because definitely that titilope will have some connection with the scammer ,if the police wants to do an investigation,they will actually start from the account used in receiving and arrest the account holder .
