This is the main reason I never quoted any of the involved in particular only stating people should verify source of funds before purchase or reselling. Nigerians are indeed funny set of individuals. So you guys want to exonerate funlord from this gbege. For the record, pls note that he is the primary dealer/business partner of DJ. All others are secondary. You ppl keep saying its a gang up against funlord, he paid back 700k, DJ sent the money bck to patience (funlord business partner/accomplice) and what not. The focus here is not only on the money. Fact remains that the money is of a questionable origin.

Now y'all are concerned about funlords reputation becos he has been added to the scammers list (temporarily and subject to change, i want to believe) , albeit it is on NL (a faceless forum). If not 5-years at-least a guaranty of NO ISSUE should be the bidding responsibility of the seller, Also the seller or MITM should disclose the source and the sender's info in details with buyer.


Any seller/MITM who cant assume this responsibility dont worth selling or advertising, apparently such funds or dealer should be red flag no room for excuse that i am not the sender.

WHENEVER BOA CLOSES AN ACCOUNT , A CHECK IS ISSUED OUT TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER FOR THE REMAINING BALANCE IN THE CLOSED ACCOUNT .
HAS BOA ISSUED OUT ANY CHEQUE YET? AMD IF THEY HAVE IS THE $3000 THERE ?
check for such account are usually issued out after 2 or 3 weeks of account closure.

many Nigerians are living abroad with foreign names , just like you will notice that many Nigerians have already adopted Kenyan names and even passports in kenyan names just to be accepted in the system .
the problem with cash deposits happens occasionally but the magnitude and dimension it usually takes depends on the maturity and intelligence of the players involved , both the selling and buying parties , if one party decides to be cool and understanding i believe the second party too should reciprocate such gesture . this present is a very very simple issue which ordinarily shouldn't even reach this thread at all , but i think one party got fed up and bring the issue out to the open for justice .

I have taken my precious time to read the accusations and counter-accusations and I have come to an unbiased conclusion.

Funlord .........if you had taken the time to explain things to dowjones and just given him a date which his money for the $3000 would be refunded, you would have just spared yourself this drama.
It is already self-evident that the said $3000 which was deposited into his account is of questionable source which the bank has gone ahead to place on HOLD.

Now, in the interest of peace and the sanity & sanctity of this thread, I advise that you refund dowjones his full amount of money that was paid to you for the $3000.

If you are waiting for comments and posts based on this unfortunate transaction which was brought to light to be deleted, I am SORRY to tell you that it ain't gonna happen. You caused all this by not remitting him his money in the first place when he brought this to your attention.

Now, please kindly agree with dowjones on a realistic date when all his money will remitted to this.

The person can never own a BOA account & if per adventure the person has been reported (which is highly likely) to chex system, it's another level of gbege on its own.

Cos in the case of this magnitude, the funds may be small but the crime is major, it's not the usual dating scam or you won lottery ones, THIS IS PURE IDENTITY THEFT!!,No bank will allow him/her operate an account with them & that puts paid to any future asset financing like car loans, mortgage etc....

I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED BY FUNLORD. (this is for anyone who plans on doing future business with him)

… and for the moderators who will attend to this case. there is no grey area in business, its either you’re good or bad.

I will summarize to save everyone’s time. (i have left out all evidences and details of middlemen. i will provide all these on request by moderators)

1. i ordered for USD deposits from funlord to a BOA account

2. funlord wires $3,000 (one of several payments)

3. the bank calls the next day to inform that the funds were fraudulent and they should be contacted for further action

4. bank offers me (i use my friends account) to reverse funds to the sender or keep it and possibly face charges

5. i inform funlord and he suggests i reverse it

6. funds were reversed, banks put the funds in a HOLD ACCOUNT ( because its under investigation) and my bank account was closed.

7. at this point i demand for a refund but funlord accuses me of being a scammer because there was no proof of a closed account or email from the bank (i later realize that a third party company handles the bank’s fraud cases and they will not communicate with you for legal reasons)

8. i suggested that the account sender goes to her bank to claim her money and end this issue. but funlord says the lady has been going to the bank and the bank cannot help (i will prove this is a lie)

9. after some research,i find out that the funds CAME FROM A DEAD PERSON’S ACCOUNT and the person who sent the money is just a next of kin (enough reason for a bank to suspect fraud even when there’s none)

10. with this information i thought funlord will finally arrange a refund. instead he blocked me. I have been blocked by funlord for over 3 weeks and i have been speaking to his middleman. who on legal grounds, has no business with me. (funlord who i did business with pushes me to a middleman and blocks me)
