Afamed: It's easier to say that on Nairaland. Same way Atiku sank PMB both on tweeter and Nairaland here Ize-Iyamu does not have d pedigree to upstage Obaseki. And besides Obaseki is an incumbent just like Buhari. If Obaseki moves to PDP it wud be alll over for APC in Edo State |

seanfer: The mode of primary to be adopted is to be made by the NWC and not the NEC. This is APC constitution section 13.5 xiv. Organize Primary Election forthe nomination of its Presidential Candidates, Governorship Candidates and Candidates for election into the National and State Assemblies. Why not paste it here fully let's see if u re so sure. |

Clevite: To me, Obaseki is fighting a lost battle already. I hope I'm proved wrong eventually. But if the dynamics remain unchanging as currently ongoing till the primary election, which doesn't appear to be largely in his favour, then Obaseki may have to be working on Plan B outside APC. Yea that's why he will really trounce Oshiomole. The REC is a PDP man |
Politics › Re: Obaseki: APC's NWC Has No Power To Decide Mode Of Primary In Edo by moderatedguy: 9:03am On May 24, 2020 |
seanfer: Google the party constitution. Section 13 sub section vii point clear that the NWC will organize the primary election for President, Governors, National and state Assembly elections. Obaseki is gone. But the decision on the type of primaries to adopted is to be made by the NEC of the party and not the NEC.. .. Oshio has shot himself on d foot. |

Mynd44: This isn't about balls but legality. The NWC is also the body responsible for submitting names to INEC.
You need to ask Senator Amosun what happened to him and his candidate in Ogun state.
Governor Obaseki needs to prepare for the direct primaries because when the scripts flip, he will be on the strong side up But it's the NEC that is supposed to take this decision not NWC.Oshio is on a long thing |

Politics › Re: Edo APC Counters NWC, Adopts Indirect Primary Mode by moderatedguy: 11:05pm On May 22, 2020 |
seanfer: Obaseki is running faster than his shadow.. The Electoral Law has mandate the NWC of parties to submit the names of party nominees.. Obaseki should learn from Imo and Ogun state where Inec only accept the names submitted by NWC of the parties. By sponsoring the state excos to go against the NWC directives will be his early downfall because by the time He will move from one court to another the time to submit and exchane names will have elapse.. As it is now the odds are not in Obaseki's favor. Interesting time ahead in Edo APC. But NWC has erred by choosing the pattern of the primaries, they dont have the right to.The Constitution clearly states that it is the state chapters that can choose the pattern of primaries. |

Either way, Obaseki looses because is the National Chairman that INEC recognizes in term of submission of Candidate The party constitution is very clear it is the state the chooses the pattern of primary ,oshiom is just wasting his time. |
