Look at what kanu has brought upon the innocent igbos leaving in exile.

Only the jobless igbos and those living in Biafra are the ones agitating.

The hardworking ones are not part of the stupidity and out of annoyance he called them "pigs and idiots"

I think a normal person knows who the real pigs and idiots are

Effiong and the rest who stayed back were never in trouble. Ojukwu was the main culprit Nigeria who Nigeria wanted his head.

They were not in trouble in a war? That's ridiculous . Are u aware the war hasn't ended when Ojukwu left? And u say the men who stayed back weren't in trouble.

Listen, fact 1: Most Igbos are not bitter at Ojukwu for leading them in a war of freedom despite all we lost. If it isnt paining us he led, why is it paining you people he did not lead?

Second fact: what Hittler and Mussolini were fighting for was a direct opposite of what Ojukwu fought for. While Ojukwu was fighting to liberate his people from Nigeria, Hittler and Mussolini were fighting to subjugate other people. Ojukwu fought for freedom, Hittler fought to enslave.

After 3 years, when it was no longer possible to continue, Ojukwu left the scene which ushered in peace. The only thing that would have been achieved by Ojukwu staying back to be killed would have been to give Nigeria sweet victory. By leaving, Ojukwu denied Nigeria that victory and lived to a ripe old age. On his death, he recieved the greatest funeral ever witnessed in Nigeria.

Ojukwu had the last laugh

No offense , but you make less sense with this post.
The point is, those people led their people to war for whatever reason and gave their life for it . They stood till death for the course they established .

It doesn't change the fact that Ojukwu fled when he technically led his people to death.
Heroes make sacrifices even with their life .
Onwuateagwu and Azuchie who followed Ojukwu to the airport should have fled too. As a matter of fact, they could be shot dead , but they stayed back and watched their master run.

According to obasanjo's account of Onwuateagwu's death, he launched a final attack on nigerian troop and got killed .

For those who say that Ojukwu escaped with his family leaving all others, I ask you.

What would have been gained by Ojukwu staying back to be slaughtered when the war had virtually ended
?

Are u kidding ?
He led over three million people to their death when he had the chance to back out and you are saying why will he be slaughtered for the same reason?

Hitler led his people to war , and when he lost, he didn't run into exile when he had to chance to hand over to his power hungry junior, he killed himself for the course .

Mussolini led his people to war, and when he was initially arrested and overthrown, he broke out of jail and went back to war instead of running into exile .

Ojukwu was losing the war, he handed over a Biafra he dreamt of to Effiong and fled .

in other words, don't start a course you can't sacrifice your life for

I AM AN IGBO MAN. With all confidence i wrote that. I did that to buttress my tribe before making my assertion so that whoever wants can quote me, or mindlessly insult my personal perspective to thia call for secession.

Granted, if the Nnamdi Kanus call for secession is for "Political reasons " being the igbo tactics at mimicking what the Ijaws did (Niger delta fuel bonkering & bombing sabotage moves) which got them President Jonathan Goodluck, & the Arewa strategy of creating "Boko Haram " to get the President Muhammadu Buhari's gov't good. But if its simply to realize a Sovereign state of BIAFRA, I AM SAYING NO! NO!! I DO NOT SUPPORT THE POGROMS BEING ENCOURAGED BY SOME SELFISH INDIVIDUALS.

This ia 21 fired Century, people are enlightened and inter married for crying out loud.
You cannot force your selfish propaganda on innocent, unwilling tribesmen.

We still prefer not to experience the 1967 war anymore. Our parents regrets it, and told it to ua with all sense of regrets so why exhume the Dead Horse?

LOL. Maybe you should have read my very first post very well before responding. I made a claim, and you stated that it was the reverse. Then you went ahead to state the very same thing I said.
U misunderstood my first post. I was actually saying Azikiwe was against secession .
Then when u replied with
"Excuse you? Azikiwe opposed... "
I felt u were being sacarstic and trying to prove me wrong

Why do you like to revise history so much?

http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2017/06/my-opposition-to-secession-zik/

When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.

That was when we began to use that expression – ‘The Indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation’ – and that to secede would amount to treason. And so, a debate ensued.

So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded.
and why do u keep shooting yourself in the leg Mr. ?

Asides shooting yourself in the leg, why didn't u post who won the debate ? .

Well, at the end of the debate, Azikiwe was able to convince the British to put in the constitution that whoever calls for secession is into an act of treason.

I think that justifies my point that The igbos represented by Azikiwe were the first to oppose secession .

*modified*
Now I see why we are in an argument when we were actually saying the same thing .
You didn't understand my first post!! grin

Excuse you? Azikiwe OPPOSED it. Awolowo ASKED for it.
No, get ur facts right . It's the other way round. The Hausas and Yoruba were the first to call for secession even right under the British rule.
Azikiwe diplomatically united all (Awolowo and bello) and coined the "one Nigeria" slogan . He asked for it to be put in the constitution after which the British agreed to . Then, A call for secession became treason.
That was why he frequently advised Ojukwu against the war and when he wasn't yielding, he left the war torn country for Ojukwu to sort himself . He knew Igbos were guilty of treason

If u were so conversant with nigerian histories , this won't be new to you I insist .

I must also tell you not depend on Wikipedia any more . All details of incidents that happened before, during ad after the coup has been taken down .

Wikipedia initially gave accounts of coups including details of how Ahmadu bello was killed and so many interesting details, all has recently been taken down and remodified

You are not famous for anything, that's the glaring truth.

Kanu remain the number one recognized Igbo leader today , he has the support of majority of Ndiigbo.
Kanu seek no fame, he seeks for the freedom of his people, and majority his people recognizes this fact, reason why he commands massive fellowship.

Azikiwe had played his role and is no more. Now we the present Igbo generation have a destiny to fulfil, and in Kanu, we had found a brave soul who will not betray this destiny.

Now I understand why he calls his people Pigs and ...
What a diplomatic leader!! grin

If being a slowpoke, yelling in an already loud mic , making a hate speeches is what makes one a leader, then am sure Kanu would be president of Nigeria already.

What a diplomatic leader!! grin

Stop blabbing. What elders? If it's easy to be that famous, why are you not famous?

Why are we talking about NK today and not you?
You can be famous for various reasons . Good and bad .

Kanu is famous for being stupid and he is dragging you un-ambitious youths along .

I will be famous for a good thing.

You ask what elders ? Apparently, The kanu syndrome has taken over you. You don't regard the elders anymore , Azikiwe is no more your hero.

This isn't the first time I'm reading this story.

All I know is ,no matter how saintly Banjo is painted , he had skeletons in cupboard and that was why he and Ifeajuna were executed.

The whole Biafra actualization wasn't based on truth . It has always been a clear case of greedy humans trying to steal power for themselves . Ifeajuna tried it too many times but got caught . If ojukwu wasn't smart enough, he would be mudered by the notorious Ifeajuna without blinking an eye.

Ojukwu refused to heed to the advise of the elders (maybe a quest for power or a true justice fighter) but he went into a war anyways .......
Ojukwu realized his mistake years after and rebuked a second war but here we are again ...
Some1 who didn't witness the war , he wasn't among the kids that were starved, he didn't go through the hardship of the nation cos he spent his life being the rich son of a king and lived his life in the UK.
This man woke up , read some books and he decided to be famous !
He wants to experience what happened before his birth , he wants to take his tribe to the muddy road once again .
He is refusing to take advise of the elders again just like Ojukwu did to Azikiwe .
He is dragging the un-ambitious persons along in his stupidity !!
Call Kanu to order!!!
A call for secession is treason !!
Azikiwe begged for it in the constitution
