[s] barcanista: Dear Jonathanians/TANoids/E-trolls
It has become a common trend for some you to "DIG" up my posts of the past that had a different view from my present political leaning. I don't only find it ridiculous but childish.
To set the record straight, I am not the kind that get stuck to a position even after realizing that the view I hold on to is contrary to the true position. It is even foolish to hold on to a position you once believe in after realizing that it isn't the right position/doctrine. Like Apostle Paul that did a 360' change as regards the Christian gospel(apologies to non Christians), despite being one of the Chief Persecutors, he laboured and died by the sword of Emperor Nero for the same Christian faith he once stood against. In fact, he infamously led the lynching of a Christian Matyr Stephen before his conversion according to the Holy Book.
Of recent, I observe with dismay on the actions of Jonathanians/TANoids/PDP using my past stance to malign my integrity and reputation rather than engage in a debate as regards issues intelligently. The Chief of them is Mogidi, who kept spamming and following me in virtually every threads using my once held OPINION on this Thread https://www.nairaland.com/1855677/opinion-why-buharis-candidacy-not on General Mohammadu Buhari, which I have modified and even updated. Other trolls have been digging as far as my 2010 comments in their bid to malign me. Though I am not bothered, I consider it to be a shame, a disgrace and an embarrassment to adulthood that Grownups with possibly wives and kids will rather troll in an online forum than contribute intelligently to topics. First they tried labelling me as other posters, it failed. They went ahead to tag me a "Yoruba" and "Northerner", it still failed, now it is character assassination, which I am guaranteeing that it will fail.
I want to restate that I am 100% committed to the cause of the All Progressive Congress and to kickout the Rogues and Clueless People in Power led by My Brother/Father Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his PDP gang out of power through the polling boot, which is a legitimate route. I owe nobody an apology nor explanation to this decision-except on my own volition.
Regards #barcanista [/s] You're now willfully looking for excuses to squeal your way out of the jam you created, and in the process demonstrating your talent and capacity as a highly paid poster. I will constantly remind you of your doublespeak, you shouldn't be taken serious. You accuse lots of us of digging into your past, but if it was once we would think its an aberration, you do it all the time which makes it a pattern. Your pattern of deceit will be exposed, I can promise you that. |

focus7: u are not making any sense. Is there anything wrong in barcanista's stance so far? For all I know change is constant and there is nothing wrong in one changing his view on issue at any point, is only a fool that doesn't change his opinion when he's enlightened. When you change your opinion as often as he does, don't expect people to take you serious. You don't start a thread giving 10 reasons why you think a certain politician should not be voted for and then change your stance less than two weeks later. His arguments were he did some research and found out the truth, that's baloney. Even a teenager wouldn't create a thread to espouse strong views without adequate research. |
Politics › Re: American Role In The War Against Boko Haram by Mogidi: 9:26am On Sep 25, 2014 |
Dominiquez: I watched with all attention, Mr President address to the UN summit last night and it shows that the Western countries are not assisting Nigeria in anyway to fight the insurgency. He acknowledged the African Neighbors and then thanked France for their Paris meeting that was held earlier. America and Britain seems just watching Nigeria take care of this insurgency on our own. Same as they denied us the Ebola drugs to handle the menace.
One begin to wonder whats America role in the war against terrorism in Nigeria and frustration that the Nigerian government has faced to procure arms from them. Is America backing Boko haram or supporting the oppositions in order to weak our present government.
Its high time Nigeria identifies who their friends are and work with them to solve our pending problems. Their position is at best convoluted, they never wanted boko haram declared a terrorist organisation then they relented when facts became too obvious. They wanted to help find the missing girls, but then decided the girls might not actually be missing. Their foreign policy is in shambles. |

We are also aware that with GMB on the ballot, it is a 80% done deal for the APC the great party. We are very much aware that GMB represents everything good and a face of hope and change among the majority poor masses. We shall play their game and beat them at their own game. We shall always support and promote the face of change and of hope. We shall support and elect General Mohammadu Buhari for President 2015. Sai Buhari To God Be Glorified APC!!!! Change Barcanista on 13th of August1. Buhari Truncated A Democratic Process and Never Put Machinery In Place To Handover To Democratic Government.
2. Buhari does NOT support Press Freedom. He Instituted DECREE 4 that bar journalists from "unfavorable" reporting. He even went as far as Jailing Journalists.
3. Buhari Stand on corruption is hypocritical. The Same Buhari that Jailed Politicians for corruption is the same Buhari that publicly said "ABACHA did NOT steal" " That Abacha was supposed to be celebrated". Buhari, in 2007, described the allegations of looting against Abacha as “baseless”, because according to him, “ten years after Abacha, those allegations remain unproven because of lack of facts”. . The same Buhari that accused the ruling Party of Institutionalizing corruption.
4. Buhari is Not a democrat. He doesn't believe in democratic process nor primaries. Buhari would rather have people step down for him in the Primaries (cite 2007 when all aspirants including Sani Yerima and co were asked to step down on the day of Convention). It led to the exit of Atahiru Bafarawa where he formed the DPP and contested on its platform. Gen. Buhari quitted ANPP and formed the CPC in 2010/11. The reason was because he doesn't want to go through Primaries with a "Small Boy"(Referring to then Kano State Gov Ibrahim Shekarau that ended up flying the flag). I am certainly sure that Buhari will want to be adopted as "consensus" of APC which will SPLIT the party.
5. Buhari is OLD. Nigeria need change in Leadership. 65yrs plus should have no business in 2015 Presidential Poll. there should be paradigm shift. A 70plus years Buhari will seldom sell to the Youths.
6. General Buhari was a Military Leader in early 80s(when I wasn't even born). Times has changed. Leadership dynamics of Yesteryears is different from now. The APC should replicate what is done in Lagos State. Allow the younger generation fly ticket. A man like Buhari will most likely ban facebook and twitter because his antecedents is in conflict with criticism.
7. Buhari's WAI saw Nigerian Adults being whipped to submission. Maybe it was due to his military background but I for one can't sacrifice my freedom of choice for anything. It is of great concern that he hasn't find cause to apologise for that act. His aides even justified it.
8. The opinion is an honest one of a Nigerian Citizen. I expect APC to be different in approach from the norm to reflect the "CHANGE" that it preaches. Fast forward to September (with money changing hands) and you get the idea. Poverty na bastard, devil punish poverty. |

He, however, declined to give any assurance of a mutual complement of arms purchase policy that is not in conformity with that of his country and its interests. “U.S. Departments of State and Defense review all potential arms transfers for their consistency with US policy and interests, as detailed in the US Conventional Arms Transfer Policy, updated by President Obama in January. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Osita Okechukwu, has said the Nigerian elite are opposed to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as president because they are aware he would wage unreserved war against corruption. There are 5,000 dead Nigerians who would be turning in their grave if Buhari emerges winner. It will be dishonourable to vote in the buko hari leader just to placate Boko haram whose only reason for fighting is to install a muslim president, won't happen. No one is against anybody fighting corruption, but we don't want a man willing to destroy Nigeria to achieve his selfish ambition. |

[s] chemali: This is good news that should have happened years ago. What changed?
First, there was a series of startling revelations by the Australian negotiatior that fingered allies of President Goodluck Jonathan as being involved with Boko Haram. Secondly, there was a cash for arms scandal which doubled as money laundering of $9.3million that involved the presidency and his allies. Till date, the usually loquacious Rueben Abati and Olisa Metuh have been silent on the scandal.
In time past, it has been alleged that the presidency was promoting instability in the north for political gains. For example, labeling APC as Boko Haram sponsors. These recent events which cannot be independent of the current Army successes have proven that the government of Nigeria could have done more in curtailing these terrorists. The battle wasn't about Islam, it was all about holding on to power. It couldn't have been difficult to crush Boko Haram if the resources at our disposal were deployed.
Questions Is it probable that these revelations have brought Nigerians closer to the truth and the successes recorded presently are diversions from the truth we seek - who is behind Boko Haram? Is it probable that Boko Haram has outlived its usefulness and the powers that be are ready to shut it down? [/s] You no well...go and ask Buhari the above questions. |

When you tagged a party of men, women, Christians, Muslims, brothers and sisters "an Islamic Party" then you've lost the debate. You have nothing else to tell us why we should continue to support PDP after 15 years of misery. APC tagged themselves Islamic when it registered as a political party and had 17 of its 18 board members as Muslims.
