APC Senator defects to PDP in Oyo

IBADAN—The hope of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State to clinch the popular votes of electorate in the 2015 election grew dimmer yesterday as another senator dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Senator Ayo Adeseun, who represented Oyo Central in the National Assembly formally defected from the broom party to close ranks with former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala who is aiming to clinch the PDP’s governorship ticket for the election.

Adeseun became the second senator to dump the party.

Some weeks ago, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin defected from APC to the Accord Party.

Ekiti, Osun, Edo, Adamawa and now Oyo are up for grabs or have been grabbed by PDP in the last few weeks.

The 2015 election is waste of scarce resources since it appears GEJ is going to win. The #120bil could be used as extra money for education, health, security etc. The election should be postponed till 2019 when APC has realistic chance of winning. This would be a win win situation for Nigeria.
