I got a call too, this morning as per my interview appointment now on the 18th SEPT. I can only give God the glory. |
According to the US Treasury Department, the largest currency denomination ever printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing was the $100,000 series 1934 gold certificate, which featured a portrait of President Woodrow Wilson. But you couldn't find these in, say, J.P. Morgan's wallet. A limited number were printed at the end of 1934, and they were intended for government use only. By the end of that year there were several other big bucks, including denominations of $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000. These were perfectly legal tender, but mostly used for bank transfers. Production of these bills stopped around 1946, and in 1969 the government decided to cease using them altogether. The big bills are still around (though mostly in the hands of collectors), and can be used to make a down payment on a plasma TV. However, the U.S. government has made an effort to pull them out of circulation. The biggest bill still in use is the classic C note -- the $100 bill. The Benjamin was the highest note to survive the 1969 repeal, because by that point electronic money transfer systems had rendered large paper bills unnecessary. Your local convenience store may not accept bills larger than $20, but once upon a time you could have paid for your gum with a nice fresh $10,000 bill. What’s the story behind the large-denomination bills that the government used to issue? What big bills has the U.S. issued? high-denomination-currency Why on earth was the government printing such giant bills in the first place? Believe it or not, it wasn’t just to save space in fatcats’ wallets. When the Treasury started printing these giant bills, their main purpose was making transfer payments between banks and other financial institutions. Before sophisticated wire transfer systems were fully developed, it was apparently easier and safer just to fork over a $5,000 bill to settle up with a fellow bank. Once transfer technology became safer and more secure, there really wasn’t much need for the big bills anymore. http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/44861 I pray Mallam Sanusi is not taking Nigerians back to pre-independence era. The question is what's the opinion of Okonjo-Iweala and our president that had no shoes while growing up. |
jack_syno: House, just got a call from the embassy that my interview date has been postponed to 19th Sept - about 3 weeks from today.Waoh!!!, the question, is the embassy closing shop on Tuesday 4th or gonna attend to less number of people? I have not got a call yet and have done a return ticket to and from Lagos already. my 18th all through to end of Sept is booked for serious official duties. I pray the Lord's will prevails. |
Exponental: If he can invest in Nigeria, I fink he deserves a national honor.I don't think he should even accept the national honor if offered because the government is making mess of it especially this Jonathan administration. the national honor is now meant for thieving politicians and these jokers in the name of actors and actresses(distracting and deluding the public). A U.I diploma as bad as the situation is right now, is worth more than what is tagged the Nigerian national honor. |
tosmy :Thank you @Tosmy, God bless you. |
@Tosrich, great interview experience, Congratulation. wish you the very best. |
tosrich: I don't know why some people just come to this thread to cause confussion. I almost had an heart-athack a-day before going for interview on the 3rd of this month. Thank God for courage. I had a succesful interview without an affidavits of support and attestation of age from NPC, as I only used the birth certificate I got from birth. Pls let's stop misleading people here. Most importantly, divine favour is the surrest way of having a succesfull interview. As regards payment, its better to go with 330$ because their exchange is very high if one is paying with our naira...Please can we have your interview experience? and what is the exchange rate |

the notification came on the night of August. I sent my documents on the 27th of july |
chiteny: Thanks @TosmySorry house I wrongly used a colleague system not knowing he was online already. Once again thanks @Tosmy Then @Gentiger what exchange rate? what exact amount in naira? |
House, been away for a while, thought I should feed you guys back too as did jack_syno, I have my appointment date too for 4th of Sept. I pray the Lord's will prevails. Thanks to temmytanny, tiwanna and everybody in the house for you great contributions. |
Tiwanna: Sir the number i wrote out on this forum for U̶̲̥̅̊ is authentic. I just tried it few minutes ago and it went through i even spoke to him. If U̶̲̥̅̊ can't reach him again like U̶̲̥̅̊ said just go to moscow rd. The office is after one nigerian journalist something. The painting is yellow and somehow old. it is not a necessity that U̶̲̥̅̊ need an appointment before U̶̲̥̅̊ go to the office. Just go there. Thanks Tiwanna, I saw Barry yesterday. @Jack_Syno, I guess we are having similar case. I got the mail too and couldn't even recollected that I ever entered for the DV2012. Well of course I did but I don't put such in my mind neither do I check or follow up after entry. If not for the link attached in the mail I wouldn't have been able to obtain my confirmation because it went away with my former official laptop. I returned those forms just last week Thursday. my case No: 2012AF00007*** maybe that's what you guys call low case no. |
@Tiwanna, Barry's phone has not been reachable since. @Temmytanny, just learnt I could get the original documented birth cert at the General hospital in my area in Lagos. What's your opinion? |
Thanks @ Tiwanna |
ferdiii: Are you still in school?Nope sir, been working for 5 years now after graduating. Tiwanna: you can do your attestation of birth in npc right here in PH. just go to Moscow road. when you get to the office they will do everything for you. but go with you dad or mom passport cuz they will need it. you don't have any issue with the ssce thing, if you have up to 5 credits in the combination of both result maths and english included. Please Tiwanna, do you have any contact at Moscow road, if I could call and make appointment. As per the parents photo, they are both late a long time ago. so wot next? temmytanny: she has said it all but i dont think maths and emglish are compulsory esp for those with BSC or higher certificate than SSCE
@ Temmytanny, so the point is, I dont have to show the 1993 certs at all since I have the 2 combined certs ok with all the required subjects and credits. |
