Emir01: 😂 😂 loan is not a curse my brother. As a civil servant, loan is an opportunity that other people want to have access to. If you're not working nobody will loan you a kobo. No matter where you work you need loan on certain things except you don't think big even Dangote dey hustle for loan Ok |

AmiableMosquito: It's counter productive trying to educate people who have never worked in the public service or even worked anywhere before. And it is easy to identify them Mohisah. Why are you wasting your energy? People not in the system will argue your salary with you as if they are the ones paying your salary.
At least 50% of public servants live on loans (including their almighty FIRS, NIMASA and even NUPRC). People take loans for different reasons; augment cost of living, property/automobile purchase, sponsoring wards abroad, financing a new business etc. Why do you think there are more finance companies springing up by the minute? You think they are there to service only Grade C and D federal employees?
People's lifestyle are determined by their level of income and a lot of us like to live a little bit beyond our means. Coupled with the current devaluation of our currency and rising inflation/cost of living, even 500k monthly is not enough income for anyone to boast they are not on loan.
While a National Gallery of Art staff may be managing public transport, a typical FIRS staff might think that it is unbefitting to be jumping public transport and will therefore take a car loan just to fit in to the lifestyle that supposedly "befits" a FIRS staff. An unemployed person will see the FIRS staff and presume they are doing far better.
A NIPOST staff may typically live on loan to survive the rising cost of living and other sundry expenses. A NUPRC staff may take loans to finance expensive private school tuition fee (that befits their wards), make down payment for several properties, start a lucrative business, etc. Because sometimes, the fact that you are well paid does not mean that you have cash to finance all your wants at the same time. The lifestyle/living cost of an NNPC staff will definitely differ from that of someone with NTA. The higher your income, the bigger your needs/wants/responsibilities.
In summary, loans are not a yardstick to determine the welfare structure of any organisation. However, FIRS staff are also not earning well enough to claim that a lot of their staff are not on loans. NIA pays far better than FIRS and I know a staff who is on loan.
Again, Mohisah, don't waste your energy trying to educate people who don't know how the system works. What percentage of FIRS staff can afford to rent a 2 bedroom in Guzape? If you know where you come from, you doesn't need loan to survive in FIRS. |

Emir01: I know someone that was given Senior manager in FIRS two years ago but he rejected because of the package, he was assistance manager in NDIC then going to deputy manager. He would have taken it today because of salary increment, their promotion is more faster than NDIC. He requested for Assistant director but was not granted because he did exam and interview on Senior manager position. FIRS promotion is slow too. |

Avvaavava1: Why are they hyping the place as if there’s an abundance of rice and stew? Please, after the salary increment, how can we say that level 8 now reaches 500k?
Before the increment, the FIRS salary was 225k. After a 60% increase, this amounts to an additional 135k, bringing the FIRS level 8/2 to 360k.
Previously, the FIRS salary was N225K+, and there were no allowances unless you worked in the tax department. Overall, before the increment, the salary was relatively low, and many departments did not offer allowances. The CBN's salary is also not high, but their allowances are significantly better. When Nami came onboard, it was 240k. Within his 2nd year in office, he increased it by 20%. And last Year there's another 60% increment. Allowances: KPI once in every quarter (your one month equivalent salary), September allowance (I can't remember what dy actually call it), wardrobe allowance (50k*4) in a year. 13th month salary, and recently some new allowances were introduced. Now, just imagine yourself working with FIRS, I know it's not like nnpc and others but mehn! |

Katey93: Officer 2 is not GL 10. Officer 2 is an entry level position. GL 10 in FIRS is an Assistant Manager.
Some people can fabricate anything they imagine and put on social media to ignite FIRS Stop misleading the public... Officer II is GL 10, Officer I is GL 9. It's in descending order. |

Swagsultan1: That's how it works there. Even CBN is like that too. In your first year, you only receive basic salary with no allowances/upfront. However, once you're confirmed, you start receiving upfront payments and other allowances. These allowances ultimately make your total annual take home pay higher than what you earned before confirmation. For CBN, you get double upfront the year you are confirmed Oga Swagsultan! Please any news about NNRA? |
