The Nigerian Army on Wednesday said it killed Boko Haram terrorists who attacked Jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri earlier in the evening.
“In a merciless operation, Nigerian troops have neutralized Boko Haram gunmen who attempted to attack Jiddari Polo community in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital,” spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, said in a statement..
Mr Usman, a brigadier-general, said “there was an attempt by a few suspected Boko Haram to attack Jiddari Polo and all have been neutralized. Situation cool and calm.”
He said residents of the area who had planned to flee their homes were reassured with rapid response of Nigerian troops.
There is heavy security presence in the area, while residents were asked not to panic as the situation is under control.

Politics is all about interest(s), it is neither patriotism nor selfless service, though politicians and their lackeys might appear to be doing favour to people and country, but in real they are only promoting their personal and elitist hierachical needs, never you believe any politician or leader is doing you service free of charge, don't let them decieve you, there is no pro-bono in politics and politickings, it is all about interest(s).
Have you seen the Minna assembly of those you religiously belived to be patroits, do you know thay the assembly was preluded by the 3-Statesmen meeting, it is all about interest, those you castigated as the pillagers of the country for "16 years" and beyond are seen there being showered with "ranka-dade" courtesy by those you ascribed incorruptibility and infallibility under the # Change gov't, they are all there to celebrate one thing-the continual subjugation of the poor citizens through elitism and cabalism irrespective of party affiliation and doctrines at the expense of the poor poverized citizenry.
This assemblage might be social at the surface but underneath is a strong political undertone to re-align and permutate and brought into reality yet another set of politicians and leadership that are to be paraded as the saviours of the nation for another political life-span, continue the blindfoldism of yourselves and like-minds but the reality is, there is a dawn of political history of
# Nigeria in the making.

If every politician and political office-holder will write a book on what his/her mission. vision and political philosophy are, the electorate will find it easy to study and comprehend the parambulations of every office seeker.
Just imagine the President, the Vice-President, the Ministers, the Governors and his Commissioners, the LG Chairmen and their Councillors all having books written and made public for consumption, there will be less disappointments over politicians' failure when on seat of power because public will always call him/her to order on what (s)he has written in his/her book.
Politics aside, the culture of writing book should be encouraged among the Nigerian politicians and public office holders, that will help alot in knowing their thought-process and train of thoughts and their capacity to lead a country as diverse and complex as Nigeria.
