As much as it was wrong and very wrong for the Christians to use the sword, it was in reaction to the menace called Islam and her crusades.

The first Christian crusade was to recapture Jerusalem from the Jihardists.
Jerusalem was over ran by the successor of Mohammed; the Caliph Omar!

Before I proceed, tell me when and how Islam reached Jerusalem!

Again, in the 'fight' between the 'Quranic Islam' and the 'New testament Christianity' Islam stands no chance because it is not founded on pure truth unlike the latter. Apparently, Islam may appear to be winning through the constant persecutions and executions they would subject the true Christians but indeed, God will be the winner because He would be reaping the harvest of matyred Christian souls at the same time receiving muslim converts to christianity. The Qur'an itself is product of partly truth and partly falsehood. It is inconsistent in the relaying of a story or teachings. The chronology of persons is scattered therein and many other instancies of its shortcomings. In conclusion, I wish to say that 'terrorist Islam' cannot win even the war against 'christianity of modernity, compromise and relativism' because this so called 'christianity' has nothing to do with faith but has more to do with intelligence, sophisticated weaponry and pro-activity in itself. Islam is doomed to fail either way but only after it gas gathered enough souls for the devil through the numerous unwarranted shed of blood of unrepented souls.

The day Islamists forgets about the many wars of Mohammed, is the day they are no longer Islamists!
A true follower of Mohammed must wage wars, it can be:

Weapons War: like Mohammed himself did, Usman Dan Fodio over ran Northern, Al Qaeda is waging this war, the Taliban are faithful messengers of Allah, Boko Haram is waging this war. This war has no ending till the Messiah comes.

Political war: In this war, all infidels are subjected to second class citizens. there are some posts they will never be allowed to occupy. Government is run from the Islamic point of view. That is why you have Sharia in the North to intimidate and harass non Moslems. State funds are used to build mosques, churches are demolished, it is a crime to preach THE CHRIST, etc.

Economic War: Non moslems are denied access to the goods of the land, Moslems are preferred when it comes to jobs, shops and even occupations. Non moslems in the middle belt and core north can tell you more of this.
