“We cannot afford to continue to see judges living in rented houses, sometimes squatting with relatives. By the end of President Tinubu’s first tenure, no judge of the FCT High Court will be living in rented quarters,” Wike declared.

He said the administration will deliver 10 duplexes each for the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, and 20 for the FCT High Court.

The minister stressed that the houses would not revert to government ownership upon the retirement of the beneficiaries.

“This is a policy of Mr President. When judges retire, they must go home with their houses. Nobody will reclaim them. That is the true position,” he said.

Wike also revealed that the digitization of the FCT High Court has been provided for in the 2025 budget, with immediate implementation to follow.

I am not talking about any POLITICAL PARTIES, I am referring to any politician that contested and won an election in one political party and defect to another party when his/her tenure hasn't ended should lose that seat/position. That's irrespective of the political party SHOULD LOSE THAT SEAT/POSITION AND THAT THE SEAT/POSITION SHOULD BE MADE VACANT; SETTING UP A NEW ELECTION ON THAT SEAT/POSITION.

They should test their popularity in the new party they defected to. Since political party are vehicle through which elected office get occupied. The political party should be ones deciding not the politicians..

PDP is in a mess because of Atiku.

Obi messed up LP over greed to loot donated campaign funds that h refused to channel through the national excos.

That nonsense by Obi saw LP not mobilizing party agents in over 90,000 PUs in the north.

When Abure showed his disaffection, the mob under obi's command wanted to oust Abure.

Abure fought back and declared no automatic ticket which saw to Obi convening an illegal NWC to wrest power from Abure .

Abure fought back again and won.

Now tell me, is it Tinubu that led to Obi mismanaging and causing serious division in LP?

That I know ...You and I know, how the mad politicians we have...and the type of justice system that exists.

It should be MADE CLEAR AND SIMPLE. YOU DEFECT YOU LOSE YOUR SEAT/POSITIVE; meaning that seat/position is open re-contestation.

You should test your new party and your popularity in a fresh new election.

Also, only a court of law can sack a defector after the defector is dragged to court by his or her original party towards reclaiming their seat.

Why hasn't PDP or LP dragged their defecting members to court to have them vacate their seats ?

Because both parties have bitter rival factions and so can not drag any defector to court.

This is the law.

It doesn't matter whatever you have said before when you are in a party. My point is that, the moment you officially defect to a new party...if you still HOLD a position; you automatically lose that position. And that, positive is left for contestion again in a new election. You can test your popularity again in your new defected party.

Nigeria should have law for DEFECTION. It is not good for our democracy. If you win a position in one party, defection means you lose that seat and left that position open for contestion. How is this an achievement for Nigeria? Nigeria has no business importing fuel or any crude oil products if Nigeria is working. It should be the other way around a net exporter instead.
