Speaking to National Assembly correspondents, Ndume said ‘The budget cannot be missing. A copy can be laid, it is a symbolic copy, the budget will be in custody of both Chambers. It cannot be stolen, it cannot be missing. Once the budget is laid in the National Assembly, it has become the property of National Assembly,” he said. Speaking on why the Senate President, Bukola Saraki visited president Buhari immediately after reports that the budget was missing, Ndume said: ‘Saraki’s visit to Villa is for Senate to know the President’s priority. We want to see how we can fast track the passage of the budget before the end of February. What is before the Senate is proposal, once the president signs it, it cannot be amended, we can turn the budget upside down, it cannot be missing”he said http://africwap.com/2016/01/13/senate-leader-ali-ndume-responds-to-rumours-of-missing-budget/ |

Nwobodo who was a staunch Anglican, first married Patricia in an Anglican Communion in the early 80 but moved over to a Catholic church today after he fell out with the leadership of Communion following the death of his first son Ifeanyi last year. Nwobodo, who was at loggerheads with his first wife and Ifeanyi’s mother, had insisted that his son must not be buried in his compound in his village in Anambra, a move that caused him and his former church to fall apart. Nwobodo was such a devote Anglican to the extent that he single-handedly built the multi-million naira St. Mathew’s Anglican Church in his hometown, Amechi, Awkunanaw in the 70s. http://africwap.com/2016/01/09/photo-jim-nwobodo-renews-his-vows-with-his-wife-patricia/ |

https://i1.wp.com/africwap.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/a-43.jpg?w=568 A hunter in Idaho who killed a mountain lion involved in an attack on a dog discovered the lion had a beastly deformity. A set of fangs and whiskers were growing out of its head. A pic released Thursday by Idaho Fish and Game shows the big cat had another set of fully-formed teeth and whiskers growing out of the top of its head. Wildlife officials say they have never seen a deformity like that but have offered up several theories. One explanation put forth is that it may be a conjoined that died in the womb and its remnants merged into the other twin. Another explanation is a so-called “teratoma” tumor. This type of abnormality, whose Greek name translates to “monster tumor,” can grow teeth and hair. In humans, it can grow fingers and toes. http://africwap.com/2016/01/09/a-hunter-killed-a-mountain-lion-and-saw-a-deformity-never-seen-before-photo/ |
https://i1.wp.com/3.bp..com/-RwqNYrpYjiw/VpDi0p_Kg3I/AAAAAAAH7dA/JtC8Bf9xB4o/s400/Olisa-Metuh.jpg?resize=400%2C200 Read the PDP statement below.. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the continued incarceration of its spokesman, Chief Olisa Metuh by the EFCC since Tuesday, without charging him to court, clearly shows the dictatorial character of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Federal Government, which has not hidden its disdain for rule of law and an appetite to gag the opposition. The party said the continued detention is in clear breach of Chief Metuh’s constitutionally guaranteed liberty and fundamental rights. The PDP in a statement signed by the National Legal Adviser, Barr. Victor Kwon on Saturday stressed that relying on a purported ‘holding charge’ said to have been derived from a Magistrate to detain Chief Metuh beyond the statutory period allowed by the law is in total violation of the constitution and extant corresponding rulings by several trial and appellate courts in the country. “We draw the attention of all Nigerians and the international community to this illegal clamp-down on the opposition spokesman by the EFCC, using a purported holding charge said to have been derived from a magistrate court. “Holding Charge which implies ‘arrest before investigation’ instead of ‘investigation before arrest’ is clearly an aberration and abuse of judicial process which has since been declared by several courts as illegal, null and void, and of no effect as it is totally in contradiction with section 35 (1), (4), (5a) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “The PDP is particularly worried that Chief Metuh, since his arrest on Tuesday, is being inhumanly kept in an underground cell where he is daily threatened by officials, who we gathered, have been mounting pressure on him to accept guilt of fictitious figures and implicate PDP leaders. “The public is very much aware that the EFCC Chairman has visited the Presidential villa at least twice since Chief Metuh was arrested and detained by the commission, ostensibly to get further directives on the case. “We invite the world to note that President Buhari’s election promise of fighting corruption has now been turned into a man-hunt of PDP leaders, while known corrupt APC leaders are being shielded by the system and rewarded with ministerial positions and other government appointments. “Our nation is now being turned into a police state with its inherent constitutional violations and infringement on rights of citizens, a scenario which poses grave danger to national stability and survival of our democracy. “The PDP strongly cautions against the avoidable tension and looming political crisis over the continuous clamp-down on our leaders and particularly, the continued incarceration of our spokesperson, Chief Olisa Metuh, who was arrested a few days after he confronted the Federal Government and the APC over their dictatorial pronouncements and actions. “Our teeming members across the country have so far exercised reasonable restrain, but we caution that there is a limit to what they can stomach in the face of this brazen persecution of our spokesman. The President Buhari-led APC government and the EFCC should therefore hold themselves responsible should there be any breakdown of law and order in the land over this matter. “We therefore reinforce our demand on the EFCC to respect the course of law and release Chief Metuh immediately or charge him to court in line with the provisions of our laws if it strongly feels it has a case against him. “Nigerians cannot afford to return to the era of dictatorship where constitutional provisions, respect for lawful processes and personal freedom of citizens under the law are trampled upon. Their response to this might come with very dire consequences. ‘Enough is Enough! Signed; Barr. Victor Kwon http://africwap.com/2016/01/09/metuh-holding-charge-illegal-pdp-tells-efcc-fg/ |
https://i0.wp.com/africwap.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/index-48.jpg?w=400 Former Chairman of PDP’s Board Of Trustees, Tony Anenih has written a letter to the EFCC explaining how he got and shared N260 million from embattled former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki. According to the Nation, Anenih in his letter stated that he received the money from Dasuki’s office and shared it as instructed but never benefited from it. A source at EFCC stated that Anenih in the letter said of the N260 million he received, he gave N63 million to a group coordinated by a former Special Assistant to former President Shehu Shagari, Tanko Yakassai, for the 2015 presidential election. “Chief Tony Anenih has written the EFCC on how he disbursed N260million from ONSA to various groups including a team being coordinated by Tanko Yakassai. Anenih specifically indicated in the letter that N63million was given to Yakassai’s group. He mentioned a few others whose identities we will not disclose until our investigation has reached an appreciable stage. We will unveil the names of all the beneficiaries of the N260million soon. But we are at a level that we need to invite Yakassai to shed more light on why his group was allocated N63million arms funds. Besides the letter, we will invite Anenih to make a Statement on Oath and for interrogation.”he said http://africwap.com/2016/01/06/anenih-writes-efcc-on-how-he-shared-n260m-says-he-was-acting-on-instruction/ |

The Taraba State government has confirmed the outbreak of Lassa fever, a deadly viral disease, in the state. Lassa fever is transmitted by infected rodents. The state Commissioner of Health, Innocent Vakkai in an interview with journalist over the weekend said “One person died and two others quarantined and their blood samples have already been taken to Irrua Specialists Hospital in Edo State for further confirmation.” Speaking on how the viral disease is contacted, Vakkai said “People usually get infected with the Lassa Virus after exposure to infected rodents, while person to person transmission occurs through direct contact with the sick person.” He said precautionary measures include putting food in rodent proof containers and wearing protections such as masks, gloves, gowns among others. http://africwap.com/2016/01/04/govt-confirms-outbreak-of-lassa-fever-in-taraba-state-1-confirmed-dead/ |

According to the person who posted the photos on Friday, January 1, the woman went into labour and was taken to a local Health Centre in a Keke but there was nobody there. They quickly set up the tricycle into a mobile hospital and with the help of his wife who happens to be a medical doctor, and his sisters-inlaw, the woman was safely delivered of her baby. Read his post below: “On my way to see my mother inlaw with my family this evening, my sister inlaw whose family house is directly opposite the LGA health centre (Iji Nike Cottage Hospital, Near Enugu East Development Centre Nkwo Nike) flagged us down( we didnt plan to stop by ), few minutes later a young man in his late twenties ran in panting….”my wife is in Labour in that health centre and there is nobody there” . In less than 5 minutes a mobile hospital was set setup in the “keke” that brought in the woman. To the glory of God, my wife who is a Dr delivered the woman of a bouncing baby boy at 6:30pm 01/01/2016. My sisters inlaw turned nurses instantly and the touchlight in my phone provided the lighting. The three alleged rapists are pictured sitting on the ground in the pic above and surrounded by police… According to India police, the men were arrested on Dec. 29th after getting a statement from the victim, who claimed she was lured into the home of one of the men.
