It was gathered that the deceased, who was the only son of his mom, lived in a private hostel outside the school campus and was reportedly attacked by suspected cadet officers. The deceased family is asking for justice for their son. The family in a petition to the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mike Ogbodu, filed by the counsel to the deceased’s father, Chief Goodluck Ibitoye Ewarawon, alleged that Olumuyiwa was attacked in his room at Shanghai Hostel in Akungba by the armed gang of seven men who claimed that they were student cadet officers. Meduoye said: “The armed assailants broke into Olumuyiwa’s room while he was asleep and attacked him, thereafter, brutalized, bruised and inflicted on him fatal injuries from which he fell into coma. “The gang dumped Olumuyiwa’s body at the General Hospital, Iwarooka Akoko before good samaritans brought the incident to the attention of the family three days later.” According to the family, Olumuyiwa was in a coma when he was taken from the hospital to Trauma Centre Ondo which instantly referred the case to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife. The family said he never came out of coma and died later in the hospital. They urged the Commissioner of Police to use his good office to ensure a full investigation of the murder of Olumuyiwa by the suspected Cadet Officers. http://africwap.com/2015/12/15/final-year-student-mudered-in-ondo-university/ |

https://i1.wp.com/1.bp..com/-SLwdXbf9uwY/VmwWT0UAwzI/AAAAAAAHpN0/E6YvETgcRQ4/s1600/index.jpg?w=960 The Delta state Police command have arrested 15 year old Silas Anidi, the only son of the General Overseer of God Peculiar Evangelical Ministry, Sapele, Delta State, for beheading 11-year-old Aghogho Igbi and was about to do same to the deceased’s sister, Favour, when neighbours intervened and got him arrested. According to The Sun, when interrogated, Silas said he was lured to commit the crime by his friend, Christian. “It was his brother who is in Ghana that gave us the contract. He promised to pay us N50,000 and also help us to relocate to Ghana. I started monitoring the Igbi’s family because I know that they used to leave their children at home and go out. Luckily on November 28, 2015, I visited their house and as God will have it, their elder sister, Janet said that she wanted to go to school for evening lesson. I was excited that I was left alone with the much younger ones. I sat down on the rug and was watching cartoon network with Aghogho. While she was busy enjoying herself, I dragged her head back and sliced her throat. I rushed to the next room where Favour was sleeping and tried to do the same but she woke up and started struggling with me. I tried to slice her throat but she started screaming. I only managed to stab her in the head but her screams were too much that neighbours were attracted. I was about to escape when neighbours caught me. I am the son of the General Overseer of God Peculiar Evangelical Ministry, Sapele, Delta State. I am ashame of myself because my family especially my dad will be disappointed in me. I was not satisfied with the little money that we made in the church that is why I wanted to travel to Ghana to make money. I was deceived that until we get human head that we will not succeed. He promised to pay N50,000 for each human head”, he confessed. Favour, the sister of the deceased who survived the attack said “We attended church vigil the previous night and I was in the room sleeping. I heard when someone was at the door, but since my sisters were around I assumed that they will attend to the visitor. I heard when my elder sister, Janet left the house and told Silas to relax since he is a close friend of the family. In less than 10 minutes, I noticed that someone was trying to suffocate me with the pillow. I was shocked that it was Silas but since it was no longer a joke, I struggled to free myself from his grip. I kept screaming and he used a knife to stab me in the head. I was lucky that someone heard my voice and rushed to the room. He was later arrested while he was trying to escape through the roof. I rushed out to the palour and saw that he had beheaded my sister. I don’t know the kind of devil that entered into him that he had to kill my sister,” she said crying The Delta state Police Commissioner, Usman Baba Alkali while confirming the incident, said investigation was ongoing while detectives are still on the trail of Silas’s accomplice, Christian and his brother who is based in Ghana. http://africwap.com/2015/12/12/photos-pastors-son-beheads-11-year-old-girl-in-delta-state-for-ritual/ |

Buhari stated this while delivering his keynote address at the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe lecture in Abuja today December 11th. He said CBN will reveal the names of the former government officials in due course “As I stated recently, a good number of people who abused their positions are voluntarily returning the illicit funds. I have heard it said that we should disclose the names of the people, and the amount returned. Yes, in due course, the Central Bank of Nigeria will make information available to the public on the surrendered funds, but I must remark that it is yet early days, and any disclosure now may jeopardize the possibility of bigger recoveries. But we owe Nigerians adequate information, and it shall come in due course. It is part of the collective effort to change our land from the bastion of corruption it currently is, to a place of probity and transparency.”he said http://africwap.com/2015/12/11/buhari-speaks-on-why-he-cant-reveal-names-of-govt-officials-returning-loots/ |

He was arrested along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway over the weekend at about 17:50 hours when the police suspected his movement on sighting him. Items such as fake phones, key soap cut to size, shirts, sum amount of money, packet of envelopes and cut to size cartons were recovered from him. He is a native of Delta State and confessed to the crime. He claimed that it was poverty that led him into the act of defrauding innocent public. He explained the tactics that he uses to swindle his victims under false pretense, “What I usually do is called Exchange. My prospective victims will have the mind of buying handset from me but unknowingly to them I would have changed the real handset to soap wrapped with cut to size carton put inside an envelope. I will engage them in discussion after showing them real phone initially, and in the process of bargaining for the price, I will change it with the aid of white handkerchief to fake phone. And I will tell them to keep the phone inside their pockets immediately that people are watching us…. He narrated further”, As soon as they left the spot, I will change my clothe to another for uneasy recognition in case he discovers the trick in miles away that he has been duped.” The suspect, who had fathered four children from three different women, further explained “I was a refrigerator technician in Uvwie LGA, Effuru in Delta State. I came to Lagos to look for greener pastures about 15 years ago, but my expectations were dashed when situations got so hard for me in the center of excellence. I met one guy then, Hakeem Tijani, he is late now, and he was the one that introduced this act of stealing to me. Since that time, about 4 years ago now, this act of stealing has been my only source of livelihood… My first wife taught me how to smoke all sorts of hard drugs including cocaine. She died sometimes ago from the complications she suffered due to much intake of hard drug”, he said. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Joe Offor, warned the general public to be weary of individuals and shops where they purchase their mobile phones in order not to fall victim of con men. The suspect was charged to court immediately. http://africwap.com/2015/12/06/photo-54-year-old-man-arrested-by-rrs-for-swindling-lagosians/ |

Designed to aid academic activities and social networking among students and staff of tertiary institutions across Nigeria, the Glo Campus Booster will, among other benefits, support and improve education standards, create intellectual wealth for students, and provide access to information on research topics and thesis writing. At the official launch of the product at Globacom’s headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday, the company’s Senior Manager, Events and Sponsorship, Mr. Sola Mogaji, said that the Glo Campus Booster is a special data plan that allows students and others on campus to get up to eight times more data value whenever they use their Glo lines on campuses. For instance under the Glo Campus Booster, a N200 data recharge will guarantee a subscriber 400MB of data which is eight times more than the 50MB of data a subscriber would normally get with a N200 recharge. In the same vein, a recharge of N500 will give 1 gigabyte of data on campus. The service is available on all Nigerian campuses nationwide, including Military, Police, Customs and Immigration training institutions, Mr. Mogaji explained. According to him, “Students as well as staff on campuses can enjoy this offer when they subscribe to a Glo Campus Data Plan of N200 and above. They will subsequently enjoy enhanced data offered while used inthe campuses”. He further explained that another juicy feature of the package is that theGlo Campus Data Plans can be gifted to another subscriber on any other campus within the country. He said as soon as any subscriber on the Campus Data Plan enters a school campus anywhere in Nigeria, “You will be notified via a flash message that you have entered a Glo Campus Zone”, he disclosed Mogaji urged Nigerians wishing to register to enjoy the huge benefits of Glo Campus Booster to dial *777# to chose a preferred plan from N200 and above. He said Globacom decided to offer the Campus Booster, having realized the dearth of internet facilities on Nigerian campuses, and the need to enhance education and social integration through the provision of adequate data plan for students. “Globacom is a world class brand, re-engineered to provide voice and data services bundled with great devices. We are more committed than ever before to provide best value for money and making our products and services more accessible to our customers,” he added. The launch was attended by student union leaders from the University of Lagos, the Lagos State University and the University of Ibadan. Speaking on behalf of the students, Suleiman Adeyemi Wasiu, President, Lagos State University Students’ Union Government, said “it is a welcome idea. First, it will make researches easier and cheaper and secondly it is a form of economic advantage as it will drive traffic into the school which would boost economic activities on campus. We plead that Glo should not stop the product”. The Social Secretary, University of Lagos, Mr. Roland Onyeka, who led his school’s delegation, said, “The Campus Booster is a good product which will make life easier and cheaper on campus. It will facilitate our research and assignments which we have to put on PDF files. It will also keep us more on the campus as we can now download our favourite movies without going.” http://africwap.com/2015/12/05/glo-boosts-data-usage-on-nigerian-campuses-with-campus-booster/ |
