ugsams: Please i need matured advice and candid opinion here.
I met this lady who is a xhosa mixed with sotho, we have really developed strong feeling for each other. We have at several occasions considered the option of getting married.
I don't live in South Africa, my immediate plan doesn't include living there and even if I will have to, it will be living there for a short period of time which is likely going to be few weeks or months of several visits just to enable us know each other over time. I would've loved to make her be the one to visit me instead but after we both analyzed the situation of things, we decided that i should be the one to visit because she is a single mother and works in the South Africa Police Service, so it won't really be convenient for her and i am the one who has the chance to do that now.
We have talked about paying her Lobolo and marriage but then there is also the the need for us to also to spend some time to see how compatible we are. Although, we spend a lot of time online I still think it its not enough.
My questions are: What type of visa will be the most appropriate visa for me to apply for this visit?
What will be the likely requirements?
For someone who doesn't live in South Africa, what's the position of the law on getting married to a South African citizen?
What will be the process of getting married and the required documentation?
What are the benefits of marrying a South African?
***Note: I am not particularly in a hurry about getting Residence Permit as I am already processing my travel documents to another country. I am doing this because I want to start a family with this wonderful lady. I will also appreciate general advice that will be very important in my decision making or guide my procedures. Please I will need everyones advice lol. bro, just be careful sha, things aren't always what they seem. southy ladies are really mysterious. read opinions of naija guys here in SA about southy chics and enlighten yourself. Good luck. |

@kinky: I'm neutral, so I didn't base my comment on sentiments. I know naija guys here aren't saints and I did mention that there are good SA ladies but they are in the minority... I don't need to live here for years to know that. The company I keep?. oh well, I'm not in 'that class' now but I doesn't mean I don't associate with them. cheap n trashy?... may I remind you that SA has one of the highest rates of HIV and baby mamas in the world?. do the maths and you'd understand why I said the slutty ones are in majority. by 'stories to tell', I didn't necessarily mean sex, its a complex term. I seen it all, now I'm just trying to be better in every way I can. |

fnep2smooth: i don't know why you guys keep killing yourself on this Matter. You can't compare nigeria with south africa. .. We build our country from nothing to where it is today with No western help.. .. There economy is been control by the white, the white still dictate how the country will go or been rule. (secretly). The white occupy almost all the top agency. The blacks over there are just like normal citizens with no right what so ever.
but Nigeria guy got swag and thats why they are jealous. most of all the south african girls i HAve come in contact with always fall for me, not because am handsome but because they see the spirit of confidence, intelligent, well exposed and sweet talk. Sometime we the nigerians don't even know about it cos thats our way of life. But funny enough our own girls fails to see it . Many of them still wish to date us or even marry us but i guess some bad stories flying around about the nigerian hustle is whats bringing all this hate . I don laff die. |

firstly, I'd say that SA ladies love Nigerian guys cuz Nigerians are mostly smart and success-driven (though I don't support all the means they use e.g drugs). my cousin came here with $500, was driving a bicycle and doing legit business and 6 years down the line, he owns a successful company. secondly, the average Nigerian guy here is social, funny and knows how to woo ladies and maybe spend on them. so in all, the SA ladies say Nigerians are 'romantic''. thirdly, the average Nigerian guy is 'bigger' and better in bed than an SA guy (the ladies tell me). while a Nigerian sees his '6 inch D as average, an SA guy would brag about his '4.5 inch D.
on the part of SA ladies, there's no generalization. there are a number of good and virtuous SA ladies but the truth is that majority of them are slutty and unfaithful. trust me, it doesn't matter is she's educated or rich. that's why most Nigerians dont marry here, they marry from home and even when they do, its mostly for a side motive. again, I've met a few good ones amongst them. I remember a particular girl I met on my way back from Pretoria, she was perfect in every sense.
the key thing to strive amongst the ladies here is to be smart, successful and good-looking. I don't have any stories to tell yet since I'm still chasing dreams n working on myself, but its just a matter of time. sh*t gon change. |
