Politics / Gov Fayemi Polarizes Ekiti State APC For Selfish Reasons by moneywealt: 8:14am On Jun 29, 2020
TIME TO TAKE A STAND

By Ekiti APC Stakeholders June 28, 2020

We the undersigned are members of APC and patriots of the Ekiti project.

Consequently none of us having given our best at different times to building the party through hard times will not want our party to suffer reversal of fortunes.

Party faithfuls rejoice when we win elections, but above all, the greatest desire is to see the party endure and impact lives when those in government deploys the manifesto of the party to make tangible and lasting positive difference.

The future of any party is dependent on the combined deft management of the party and government in such a way that all members have a sense of belonging rooted in fairness and justice, while government delivers on the promises of the party as encapsulated in her manifesto.

It is in the recognition of this that we acknowledge the intervention of President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, in the matters of the party leading to the dissolution of the National Working Committee and the inauguration of the Governor Mai Mala Buni 's committee to bring some calmness into the party.

This gratifying development has informed the need to bring to the attention of the newly constituted committee our concerns about the unfortunate drift of our party in Ekiti State. Prior to now we we have communicated the situation effusively to the dissolved NWC.

As this new body sets about resetting the future of our party, it has become imperative to acquaint the leadership with developments in Ekiti State. The time has come to bring to the fore the developments in the state and the political realities in our party.

On June 21, 2018, Ekiti people pulled the state from the brink and stranglehold of the immediate past administration, we all heaved a sigh of relief, and looked forward to a time of healing and revival in our progressive tendencies, as defined by development and inclusiveness.

Our victory was a much sought after, a battle well fought, and won, not solely through the Governor's efforts rather by all party people who worked so hard to secure that much coveted victory, and with that came the expectation that attends a new day. But that hope has been dashed two years into the four year journey.

If the present leadership in Ekiti state is guided by sense of history, it will be sensitive enough to realise that the present administration has taken our party back to that inglorious point that we got to in 2014, that was the prelude to our political travails.

Just like five years ago, when deafness to reason contributed to our loss of the election to Former Governor Ayo Fayose who taunted all our party people to no end with his 16-0 jibes for 4 years, we lived with that humiliating taunts all through his administration at no fault of the people.

We the undersigned stakeholders therefore feel compelled to speak up now, "a stitch in time saves nine"

Consequent upon the victory at the Gubernatorial elections of June 21, 2018, the Governor immediately jettisoned the collective efforts of the members of the party and initiated a clannish group under the philosophically deficient identity named "JKF TOKAN TOKAN" which led to the need by uninitiated party people to “politically isolate" and"social distance” to be safe from the released "political CORONA VIRUS" of disdain for time hallowed principles of political inclusiveness, and injustice from their laboratory.

The ground for this was set earlier after the emergence of the Governor, and a stakeholders meeting was convened at Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the present Honourable Minister of Industry's residence in Iyin Ekiti, where the list of names that had been clannishly compiled was ratified as the list of party executives for the Wards, Local Governments up to the State levels

It will be of interest to ask if the present executives of the party at any level can tell the world with proof the date the congresses from where they emerged as winners, either through elections or by consensus, where the elections were conducted, i.e the locations and the officers of INEC or indeed officials from the National Secretariat of the party who witnessed it.

This travesty was committed deliberately to completely ostracise people out of the party activities and today that is what has become the rule and not the exemption.

In almost two years, the party had not convened any political meeting of stakeholders, no new membership drive , no political activity whatsoever to rev up and consolidate the place and presence of the party in the state since inception of this administration till date., Instead of growth, the membership of the party is dwindling by the day.

Today, any member who expresses a contrary view is seen as a dissident that must be harassed and intimidated, notwithstanding the status, stature, profile , reputation and above all contributions of such person .

Indeed the more visible, the more the orchestrated efforts to hack the person down in a HARVEST OF SUSPENSION.

Today the following persons have been suspended or in the process of suspension.
- Senator Tony Adeniyi
- Senator Babafemi Ojudu
- Congressman Bimbo Daramola
- Honourable Oyetunde Ojo
- Honourable Akogun Bunmi Ogunleye
-Chief Ben Oguntuase
-Mr Dele Afolabi

The State, Local Government and Ward executives who see the Governor as their benefactors capitulate under such threats of removal and denial of patronage to carry out the marching orders to suspend party members without recourse, just to please their masters, except in Senator Babafemi Ojudu's Ward where the chairman stood his ground not to oblige such a perfidious request. And for this, that Ward executive is being hounded, harassed and oppressed.

Our concern also is stirred not only by the unnecessary and imaginary battles with party members but self inflicted hate with dire consequences of the yet unnecessary terror that Governor Fayemi has unleashed on 16 Ekiti first class and revered traditional rulers, directed that they be queried FORMALLY and threatened them with DETHRONEMENT contrary to our age long tradition.

It took the intervention of foremost Yoruba rulers, the Alaafin of Oyo and Ooni of Ife to give them a temporary reprieve. He has not relented in this ignoble pursuit of them.

Every thoroughbred Yoruba son or daughter knows the implications of this on our people and COLLATERAL damage on any political party in future.

Opting to enforce, not earn respect and loyalty, the political appointments given to the members of the party are exclusively reserved for the Governor Kayode Fayemi's JKF TOKAN TOKAN rapacious gang and dispensed with baits.

This has been taken to such a ridiculous extent whereby all the thirty five appointments from the state were secured for his cronies when he was Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals, and are still being held by most of those appointees till today, some of whom now hold other positions in the state government at the expense of other party members. We challenge them to put out their letters of resignation.

It is a common feature today to find Honourable Commisioners in the State cabinet still holding Federal Political positions, and those in the National Assembly holding Federal board positions.

Beyond politics, we challenge the Government of Kayode Fayemi to list with pictures tangible projects undertaken in two years and the amount of money collected over that period from the Federation Account

The State as well as the 16 local governments have collected billions of Naira (NBS records) in allocations this year’ between January to April alone, and no local government has witnessed ANY FORM of DEVELOPMENT whatsoever. Then citizens have asked for explanations none is forthcoming.

In what will appear as a misplacement of priority, the government is committing huge amounts out of the lean resources to build a cargo airport without cargo, no farm is being developed to have the capacity to service any cargo airport, IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS!!!

Indeed the major bridge on the way to the so called cargo airport has been washed away since last year!!!

When the COVID-19 pandemic broke, doctors in the employment of the state government were about to down tools until well meaning people intervened from among us stakeholders because the health system in the state is non existent and was so unprepared, leading to the death of an innocent woman whose son’s gory account berated the government for the untimely death of his mother in an open letter

Our doctors had less than 50 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the entire state.

At the beginning of the administration, the state government announced a recruitment scheme for young unemployed Ekiti people the application for this jobs attracted the payment of N1500 per applicant.

We challenge the state government today to make public how much was collected and how many people have been successfully employed from that scheme. It is an albatross on party members.

Ekiti people are desirous of knowing how many hospitals and schools have been built or renovated in two years, rather the Government of Kayode Fayemi would prefer to commit 1billion Naira to the renovation or rebuilding of sale of Ekiti State Governor and Deputy Governor's lodge located on T.Y Danjuma Street Asokoro in Abuja that nobody stays in! The opposition party has challenged the government to publish the facts against the documents in their possession. Till date no explanations

The pursuit of the touted aspiration of Governor Fayemi in 2023, even when the President Mohammadu Buhari administration is yet to turn 365 days, has clearly shifted the attention and commitment of the Governor to the extent that the Governor instead of focusing on the huge responsibilities that our parlous situation at the state deserves has shifted his gaze to what has no immediate benefit to the people of the state but desperately in furtherance of his personal ambition got steeply deep into the politics of the party at the National secretariat, funding and fueling the same at huge expense to the state.

The recent crisis at the national party has indeed provided an escape for the Lord of Ekiti who claims to rule from Abuja as alternate President to be completely absent from work as he has been since his assumption of office.

This public expression, the first in the series of our string of legitimate interventions, by the EKITI APC STAKEHOLDERS FORUM must therefore be seen for what it is as a patriotic duty to secure the value and worth of our party, our future as politicians of the progressive hue on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and more importantly as persons who are irredeemably committed to making our state a great one in the league of states.

Our intentions are pure and noble and time will prove us right or wrong if we do not redress this drift now.

We shall not fail, nor falter.

This is a sacred duty.

#THE #ACCREDITATION OF #LIGHT IS GIVEN BY #DARKNESS.

:#CELEBARATING #AFRICA #DAY2020.

The Annual Africa Day comes up on the 25th of May 2020.

Though themed the year of "silencing the guns" by the African Union (AU), but the sudden reality of the COVID-19 has compelled for us at the #ONEUNITEDAFRICA foundation the need to veer off this official theme.

The COVID-19 pandemic has like never before given every African the opportunity to re assess our place in the world.

The pandemic has become an eye opener for institutions, governments and organisations of African extraction to come real with our situation, amidst all the manifestations that the pandemic has thrown up, all of them regrettably can be traced to one glaring fact which is the weak bond, disunity and lack of oneness among Africans.

It therefore becomes expedient to reset our priorities and anchor on the rennaisance of the Pan African heritage and vision as canvassed by our forefathers on the continent of Africa.

The global confusion occasioned by this moment of darkness in humanity should trigger the stream of new light that will shine forth on and out of the continent.

The #ONEUNITEDAFRICA foundation is therefore organising a "#CONTINENTAL #VILLAGE #SQUARE #CONVERSATION around all the issues that have emerged out of this moment of darkness with direct reference to African continent.

The Topic is The #AFRICA #WE #HAD:The AFRICA #WE #HAVE and The AFRICA #WE #WANT - :#POST #COVID-19

The continental village square conversation comes up on the 25th of May, 2020.

We invite all Africans to join the conversation on Instagram and Facebook live@oneunitedafrica, time is 1700hours GMT.

Let's have a robust and factual conversation that will help shapen the future of our continent.

Expected Special Appearances from Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, former Director General Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, Hon.Mohammed Bago, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, and the last of the titans himself Papa Dr.His Excellency Dr.Kenneth Kaunda, first President of Republic of Zambia.

While among the lead discussants is Mr. Kaweche Kaunda, son of Papa Kenneth Kaunda.

The conversation will be moderated by #Congressman #Bimbo #Daramola.

COVID-19: Madagascar Keeps OneUnitedAfrica’s Dream Alive, Says

Congressman Bimbo Daramola

11:46am

19-05-2020

The convener of the OneUnitedAfrica Crusade, Bimbo Daramola, has commended the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina for taking the lead in the war against COVID-19 on the black continent.

With the discovery of a homegrown cure for the deadly virus codenamed (COVID-Organic), the ex-legislator posited that Madagascar had rekindled the dream of Africa’s forebears, stressing that it was a living testimony to the fact that Africans are capable of solving their own problems without necessarily looking for help elsewhere.

The pan-Africanist praised President Rajoelina for standing by his conviction, even in the face intimidations and for also fighting for what he termed “the new spirit of the new generation of Africans “

In his position paper titled: “Enter The New African Hero: President Of the Republic Of Madagascar”, Daramola argued that no nation in history has earned greatness either by deriding her people.

He specifically showered encomiums on the rare courage and commitment of President Rajoelina.

“You have shown that Africa is not an annexe, annexure, or appendage to anyone, individual, organisation or nation. You have taken the first chapter in the new history of Africa that is about to be written. You are the new African Hero…. Thank you, President Andry Rajoelina, for doing us real proud,” he submitted.

The OneUnitedAfrica crusader, however, charged other Africa leaders to borrow a leaf from the Madagascar experience and confront the scourge headlong.

He said: “Thank you for standing by your conviction i.e that the lives of your nationals matter, your belief in your country and her scientists, the 57-year-old Madagasy research Institute, that you recognise your sovereignty and readiness to stand by it.

“These are the definers of your sovereignty that they want to intimidate you to abandon, that they baited you to chicken out on; you stood your ground, instead of sitting idly by and watch your citizens die while waiting on instructions from elsewhere, you reaffirmed your belief in yourself deriving strength from faith in your people.

“No nation derides her people and appropriate that of others and become great. That is the greatest delusion, rather you give a chance to your people to find solutions to their own problems first and foremost.

“That is the hallmark of leadership. This was the vision of our forefathers on the continent, they wanted us Africans to be able to hold our own against any other, not waiting till the foreign nations determine and chart a course for us.

“They said the Whiteman did not discover River Niger, that indeed, the white men met people at the bank of River Niger before the arrival of the white men.

“Now history is about to be revised negatively as if we were not taking care of our medical challenges without the endorsement of the World Health Organisation in the days of our forefathers,” Daramola asked rhetorically.

“Well, it is said, of all ideas, first it is ridiculed, then violently resisted until it becomes self-evident. You do not become great by trading off your identity, a people without a sense of history and appreciation of same are not worthy of recognition.

“That is the inspiration from your emerging story, you are clear-minded and purposeful, above all you value the lives of your people, refusing to be limited by your classification as the 63rd poorest nation on the planet.

“You looked beyond your circumstance and not allowing that picture to determine your future. Kudos. Weldone. Mr President. The bright spark in the dark.

“Today, kids are back in school in Madagascar, no isolation camps gulping the money (questionably) that you do not have, life is back to normal in your country and you are ready to face life again, while those who should lead the struggle will rather abdicate responsibility and dither in taking their places and fulfil their obligations not only to their nationals but the continent, that seemed to have dressed them in an oversized robe of a giant,” he lamented.

He added: “Instead of people getting treated and finding our ways back to normal life, as you are doing, we are celebrating spiking figures of casualties and victims on their ways to their untimely deaths and needless graves.

“By this act, you have not only saved lives, of your nationals and those who are humble enough to admit and not deny results but by this action, you are inspiring a new generation of your citizens, that you are infusing with great attributes, that they are not second best, that they can be solutions in a confused world, that they can give hope, that solution and success are not determined by or dependent on physical sizes,” Daramola said.

“You are reassuring them that all they need to succeed and to turn your country around and prepare themselves for greatness is to be solutions provider buoyed by and infused with the unbending will and with uncommon “#can #do #spirit,” which is a powerful key to unlock their potentials and by extension that of your country,” Daramola added.

Certainly adversity can be beautiful, when thinkers are in power.

Thank you for showing the way for the new Africa that we want, taking a cue from the Africa that our forefathers handed over to us.

Thank you for fighting for the new spirit of the new generation of Africans that we have committed ourselves to at #ONEUNITEDAFRICA and leading the way to a new Africa.

I see the #Keyattas, #Mandelas, #Bikos, #Thambos, Julius #Nyerere, Thomas Sankara, Leopold Senghor, Kwame Nkrumah and The Great Zik of Africa, the Patrice Lumumbas, the band of our foremost Pan Africans genuflect joyfully in their graves for rekindling the dying embers, even as the living legend Papa Kenneth Kaunda waves his white handkerchief in agreement that there is hope, afterall he had declared that the Pan African Renaissance can only be achieved by the determined young generation, what a great delight that you are fulfilling Papa's prophecy in his lifetime.

You have showed that Africa is not an annex , annexture, or appendage to anyone, individual, organisation or nation.

You have taken the first chapter in the new history of Africa that is about to be written.

You are the new African Hero....Thank you President Andry Rajoelina for doing us real proud.

COVID-19: DON'T IGNORE CLAIMS OF LOCAL REMEDIES, DARAMOLA ADMONISHES FG
POLITICS

ADO-EKITI- A former member of the National Assembly, Congressman Bimbo Daramola has admonished the Federal Government to pay attention to the various claims of local remedies for the killer virus – COVID-19 rather than shoving them aside.

Daramola who expressed concern over the seeming slow pace at which the government was fighting the scourge also called for an all- inclusive engagement between the authority, the health professionals as well as the indigenous scientists.

Reviewing the situation in a statement made available to Daily Independent, Daramola stressed the need to establish Test Centres in all Local Government Headquarters in Nigeria .

He commended the Lagos State Governor,Babajide Sanwoolu for rising to the occasion. “I totally appreciate the dedication of the people at the frontlines and the authorities, particularly Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, and of specific mention is the Commissioner for Health, Lagos State both are visibly bogged down and under the weight of this unfortunate incidence,”

The former legislator ,who represented Oye/ Ikole Federal Constituency between 2011-2014 lamented that time was already ticking out for Nigeria “we need a sporadic but professionally guided domesticated review of strategies, and informed by our local realities now”, he averred.

“While testing is going on as said, Government should now corporately and collectively engage resident doctors, biologists, virologists, epidemiologists as I have said before, and not just limit themselves to the head of professional bodies, who most times hardly engage down to the young doctor just coming out of youth service into clinical practice!

“Nigerian doctors are gifted with uncanny abilities and #adaptive #knowledge and #skills having been trained under harrowing conditions unfortunately, this has toughened their professional practice so much that they do know how to navigate difficult bends sometimes.” the statement reads in part.

“For those who have authority to listen, all these claims of remedies (local) that hithero have been shoved down bureaucratic and territorial laundromat should be thrown up for cross fertilisation and incubation.”

“We cannot fold our arms, now isolation centres are getting filled, Minister for health is looking for people to donate houses, what of other cost centres like logistics to go bring 100 cases to isolation centres for example at the same time?

Instead “democratise early testings” and subsidise cost, and the “reviewed and agreeable treatment regime” as agreed to by orthodox doctors can be activated across the country without waiting till it incubates and festers.

“That way we are being pragmatic, we will never have enough isolation centres, we will never have enough personnel dedicated to servicing isolation centres, and of course sharp claims are going to go into cost of running and managing victims and isolation centres by the time we come to this.”

“Today everyone is technically avoiding talking about average cost of managing a victim to recovery, or running the centres for obvious reasons, that we are in the thick of a war, but all wars have cost of prosecuting them, human, financial, and Material”, Daramola maintained.

“Most times they are nebulous, but the ultimate wish and desire is to win, at least first, but having come this far, giving Nigerians spiking figures daily is a sign of losing the war and helplessness. No doubts”

“We are raising a despondent and weary citizenry pool, the communication going on are just for the purpose of news and update not information and assurance of victory in sight.” he regretted.

#TRIBUTE TO #HIS #EXCELLENCY, #PAPA DR.#KENNETH #KAUNDA ON HIS #96TH #BIRTHDAY.

Today, the creme de la creme of Africa would have converged on Lusaka, the African leaders, Past and Present, across a broad spectrum of the African continent, the SINCERE FRIENDS NOT FIENDS OR EXPLOITERS of Africa would have arrived in Lusaka to accord a great African, one of the greatest to ever walked the continent the well earned honour and deserved adulation as he turned 96 years old today.

A man with chequered history launched to the world from that rustic village, of Chilenje, from where he started and became the compass as one of the greatest African statesmen, the first President of the republic of Zambia, a country of very affectionate people with a rich history, through the years of apartheid and exploitation.

When in September 1945, in the British city of Manchester, at the concluding meeting of several others before it, some young Visionaries, conviction driven personalities, who all they had to their names was the spirit of struggle, got together for this last meeting with a moving farewell speech given by the greatest Pan Africanist that ever lived, in person of Kwameh Nkrumah of Ghana.

He said "...rising from this moment, you all go back to your separate "states" in Africa and prepare your states for independence"...with that charge, the curtains were drawn on further talks and opened the new chapter in pursuit of what today will be known as independent countries making up the continent of Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, kenya, etc

One of those titans at that meeting is the young Kenneth Kaunda.

Many of those who were at that meeting had since gone the way of our ancestors leaving just about one or two left, and Kenneth Kaunda is one of them, still healthy, with firm grip and clear minded and sharp clarity of thought.

These modern Ancestors before leaving had undeniably lit the candle of ##panafricanism, which in simplest terms meant #ONEUNITEDAFRICA, where the focus and full interest is Africa and the well being of Africans.

It was a case of one for all and all for one!

But what do we find today?, efforts to extinguish that fire of Pan Africanism, thank God that it had become a huge inferno though with reduced intensity.

If it were still a candle, the successor generation of leaderships on the continent may have through their coldness and indifference allowed that Pan african fire to be extinguished.

Today Africa from Zambia to Zamfara in Nigeria is being ripped and raped by those who do not mean well for Africa and Africans.

Where our future is being fettered by ridiculous loans and aids from modern colonialists masquerading as altruistic friends and benefactors when indeed they are rabid EXPLOITERS in pursuit of self interests only

Our mineral endowments are being illegally exploited, or compromisingly ceded or looted, abuses of our sovereignty as nations go on without let or hindrance, with instances of China wanting to take over of a part of the Zambia police, after taking over some of the public utilities.

Not to forget the illegal chinese people caught in economic sabotage of counterfeiting Kenya currency and sale of fake products, or the flogging of Africans for coming late to his work post by a chinese in Kenya!

The most ridiculous was the picture of a chinese man openly handling the breasts of under age African girls in what will pass as the greatest incestuous travesty, assault and insult of all times on our collective sensibilities as Africans.

This must be grieving moments for the great Dr Kenneth Kaunda. Because the emerging Africa is not the Africa of their dreams, himself and other compatriots of Africa.

Burdened by this sad spectacle and realities,I alongside others who found all these putrid, odious and noxious took up the challenge to start a revival of the idea and ideals of PAN AFRICANISM not mouthed or in sloganeering but to reconnect with the vision of the Kwameh Nkrumahs , Kenneth Kaundas and others.

So we started the #ONEUNITEDAFRICA dream, first and foremost triggered by the senseless manifestations of XENOPHOBIA among Africans on the continent, we know that a home divided against itself cannot stand, and if that festers then in another ten years, the African spirit will be dead.

We will be left only with a geographical expression as the reminder that we once had a "continent" passed on to us by the likes of Papa Kenneth Kaunda, a land of great people called the cradle of human race and MOTHERLAND will be gone, and when the spirit leaves, what is left will just be the carcass, so we committed to bring back the African spirit.

This goal was what took the convener of the #ONEUNITEDAFRICA, my humble self working with my colleagues to Lusaka, Zambia to get the blessing for the task ahead from the only living ancestor in Person of Papa Dr. Kenneth kaunda in February 2020,in pursuit of the #AFRICA2020:#ONEUNITEDAFRICA dream.

When our friend , a great young diligent African of Zambian Extraction, My brother Chishimba George worked hard to get the appointment scheduled with Papa it was one of the greatest breakthroughs for our vision.

I set off to Lusaka to meet with destiny, it's not often that one had the opportunity to meet with a legend and a "living ancestor" that you only read in books! Or hear about from fairy tales!

Touching down at home it felt like home, indeed it was home, Lusaka streets looked like another part of any city in Nigeria, I was gratified and delighted, the African spirit was too alive, almost touchable.

I took the first day to visit Chilenje, the building where Papa first lived and I saw the history of struggle, I saw the giant footprints of a great man, a man totally sold to struggle for the emancipation of his people and Africans from the shackles of mental and physical slavery..

I connected with the chequered history of this African legend , his track record in social reengineering vision and positioning of the nation of Zambia in the bigger African context. Visiting Chilenje was historic and a connection with history, and the African essence.

The following day, my opportunity came to meet with the man, the living legend, the uncommon African Persona.

As he walks in with stately steps, the steps reminded me of the steps this legend had taken to redefine Africa alongside his contemporaries that bestrode the continent.

As he approached with his trademark white handkerchiefs in one hand, I was awed , standing before the GREAT KK OF ZAMBIA nay AFRICA. I went down on my knees in total submission to the human representation of parts of the African history and veritable struggles.

I told him why i flew thousands of miles to connect our efforts with his admonition and IMMUTABLE statement that "

"...with renewed commitment from the continent's younger generation to foster unity and justice, you are able to redress injustice suffered by African people as a result of local and external factors..."-Kenneth Kaunda

"...we must come forward with united strength and claim this century as Africans..."- Kenneth Kaunda

"...there was and still is a real hope with people at the helm to succeed in the Pan African dream, if the young people continue in their quest to build Africa...." -Kenneth Kaunda.

The combined meaning of these profound statements make it a heavy burden to come to the feet of the legend to acquaint him with the vision in fulfilling the charge he has committed to our hands as young Africans.

As if Papa knew, well the African folklore says what the elders see sitting down, the young ones will not see it standing up.

Could it then mean that Papa knew that Pan Africanism will wax cold as they exit the planet?

Could it then imply that Papa knew that the young ones must consciously take that baton and hold the banner of Pan Africanism aloft from their weary hands.

Yes Papa knew. He knew that the generation of younger Africans would have to rise up to the occasion to salvage Africa and the ideals they struggled for.

I told Papa that this is why I have come to see him and that I have come from miles away to stand on the shoulder of a giant that he is, so that we can see farther, while assuring him that , at the fullness of time, he should be able to take the message home to the #Kwameh #Nkrumahs, #Thomas #Sankara, #Mwalimu #Julius #Nyerere , #Nnamdi #Azikiwe that a young set of Africans are ready to take up the challenge he has thrown our way.

Papa was moved.

To also reassure him that the light of #ONEUNITEDAFRICA will not be extinguished, knowing that our ancestors are grieving looking down at what fate has befallen Africa, and that we are going to try our best to keep their vision aglow, even as the struggle has move from seeking independence to a new phase of post independence struggles across Africa from ourselves and conspirators UNITED to plunder Africa and keep her prostrate in global reckoning.

Papa became emotional when I reminded him of the meeting in Manchester in 1945.

He became more emotional as the recollections provoked memorable says, he starred into deep reflection obviously with torrents of memories pouring in.

Papa pulled me closer and prayed for us and the vision , laying his hands, the hands that has done so much for Africa and Africans on my head.

As Papa retreated back into the other part of the serene abode after the meeting , I could see a satisfied man and happy that the charge he gave the young men of Africa is being taken up now.

With gamut of the new information that I gathered on that trip, we felt Africa owed this great icon a worthy 96th Birthday for which we sought his consent and that of the family, to celebrate his birthday and we secured it.

We wanted to honour and celebrate this great son of Africa, to etch his prints impressionably on the minds of successor generation and not wait till when he joins the ancestors to give him, funny eulogies and oration at the graveside .

We felt Papa needed to be acknowledged and celebrated in his lifetime, just like Nelson Mandela, who upon his release from prison visited Papa Kaunda as one of the great pillars of support for the struggle while it lasted, to free South Africa.

Papa Kaunda is one of the last of the titans and a vestige of our past as Africans.

So we committed to give Papa a very worthy 96th birthday, but here we are today, living with the irony of life.

When we planned to put forward the best of convivial and communal African spirit, now we are foisted with a fait accompli of social distancing because of the COVID-19 pandemic!

Our hearts are broken that a day to celebrate one of our greatests on the African continent, we are dealing with the enemy of CORONA VIRUS that is threatening the human race.

Well the resilience of Papa Kk will sustain our vision to still honour this great pride of Africa after the pandemic by the grace of God, we believe and trust God to sustain Papa's life.

Today your incandescent life illuminates our dark path as Africans, even the pandemic has further showed how badly Africa has slipped away from your vision.

Because of the lack of unity among Africans that you and others of your ilk envisioned, Africa is now at the receiving end of opprobrium and jest in the scheme of things, we do not believe in ourselves, not seeing ourselves as competent enough to find solution to our challenges.

All these are antithetical to the struggles you stridently fought alongside other African legends for.

But today, on your birthday Papa, we solemnly commit to do all that will give you some comfort while alive, and at the very fullness of time when you join your contemporaries in the struggle, we hope our humble efforts through our crusade and conscientisation would have triggered a reset, that will lead to an African Pan African rennaisance, rediscovery and repositioning of the continent that you love so much , as we also do, taking a cue from you our living and the departed ancestors.

Your life is a beacon, it is a compass and a foundation for a rebuilding and restoration.

We shall not detract.

Happy Birthday Papa, the last of the Titan, you are a strong hope upon which our tommorow will be built.

You and your works will remain indelible and a refuge , shield and fortress when the storm of neo colonialists assail us.

Once again Happy Birthday, Papa Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.

Yours

Health / Chelsea & Roland Aroge Advocate For Proper Hand Washing Among Children by moneywealt: 8:35pm On Apr 24, 2020
CHELSEA & ROLAND AROGE ADVOCATE FOR PROPER HAND WASHING AMONG CHILDREN

Hand washing may look like a simple remedy or infection prevention strategy, yet it is very effective for disease control even from a layman's perspective. Haven practiced this hygiene procedure for a few weeks during this lockdown due to strict house rules as being enforced by our parents, we have come to terms with this new culture and we know that it is definitely a culture to promote even in the post covid 19 era, hence, we have been taking the campaign to our peers practically during our food distribution exercise.

Politics / Chelsea And Roland Aroge Foundation Collaborates With PEACrEc by moneywealt: 7:31pm On Apr 20, 2020
Chelsea and Roland Aroge Foundation collaborates with PEACrEc (Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre) to deliver massive donations to vulnerable kids in several communities along Lagos and Ogun axis.

Chelsea and Roland Aroge Foundation (CRAF) have been working to keep people safe and informed regarding the recent outbreak of COVID-19. This has been a consistent act by the organization to deliberately communicate the existence of the infection across lines of various groups irrespective of age, gender, religion and race.
CRAF was out again to carry out a massive relief distribution towards assisting vulnerable kids in the second week of the 1st extension of the COVID-19 Federal Government lock-down order in Abuja Lagos and Ogun States. Being members of these vulnerable communities, Chelsea and Roland have decided to take their position in the front line to serve distressed families, individuals, especially kids in these communities who may be experiencing unexpected challenges as theirs regular means of income and survival structure is being distorted by the lockdown .

CRAF is committed to providing as much support as possible to their target beneficiaries even with lean resources. Their creativity and dynamism did informed the need to collaborate with other result oriented NGOs, corporate bodies, international organizations and kind-hearted individuals alike, to create an emergency response squad to help promote their SDG # 2 passion which aimed at "ending hunger" and leaving no one behind among vulnerable kids in these communities within Lagos and Ogun States.
It was a big collaboration as the effort put in by CRAF lead to a massive result for PEACrEc who was able to deliver relief to children from : Oshodi, Ipaja, Akowonjo, Igando, all the way to Agbado area of Ogun State. The Government alone do not have the resources to meet the need of these communities especially at this time, a bridge is therefore needed to link these sets of Nigerians to various groups of donors in a bid to helping them stay at home during the lockdown.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zKZTaIALm8
A big "thank you" goes to donor organizations who made this massive relief donation to these communities possible, we want to appreciate Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, PZ Cussons, NORDICA Fertility Centre and Federal Government College, Ijanikin ‘84 Set. These above mentioned organizations partnered with PEACrEc to put smiles on the faces of these less privileged children owing to an effective grass root distribution by CRAF.
While expressing a serious note of appreciation to PEACrEc for believing in a CRAF-PEACrEc partnership even when the organization is being led by kids SDGs Advocates, Chelsea and Roland Aroge has expressed their desire by appealing to PEACrEc and by extension all potential donors both in Nigeria and in Diaspora to support their Covid 19 kitchen initiative as well as Cheroland lunch pack which was developed to promote their SDG # 2 advocacy movement aimed at "ending hunger" among kids by the year 2030 according to the year 2015 UN agreement among 193 countries of the world.

As the first week of the Federal Government's extended lockdown order elapsed, Chelsea and Roland put smile again on the faces of Majiyagbe residence in Ipaja town in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos, Nigeria . Most affected among their target beneficiaries are kids and mothers. This time around, they were supported by donation from a California based Philanthropist, Princess Juliana Enosegbe Obanor whose heart goes to millions of Nigerian kids and mothers who are being negatively affected by the current lockdown order.

On the part of their beneficiaries who converged from all over the community at different times due to the social distance recommendation, they made their presentation seamless and brisk to avoid forming a crowd, the beneficiaries were extremely grateful to Princess Juliana and CRA Foundation for remembering them consistently especially during this lockdown season irrespective of status, age ,tribe or religion.

On a parting note, Chelsea and Roland seized the opportunity to reach out to kind hearted corporate organizations and individuals to come out and support them in sustaining their covid 19 kitchen operations. they are soliciting for urgent support for food stuff, logistics and cash from the government, other NGOs, Corporate organizations and good-hearted philanthropists across the globe, to help mobilize support for the vulnerable and less privileged in their immediate community- Ipaja, and its environ. Politics / #covid-19: #time #to #stop #reacting, #africa #must #respond. by moneywealt: 1:39am On Apr 16, 2020
#COVID-19: #TIME #TO #STOP #REACTING, #AFRICA #MUST #RESPOND.

Growing up my grandmother used to tell us in my Ekiti dialect, " han a wi uku i lode, kan gbode re uku" meaning literally "we cannot cede our streets to death because they say death is stalking the streets"

Well COVID-19 seems to have to a large extent challenged this wise saying from my grandmother, albeit momentarily depending on what we do from now and henceforth with the situation we have found ourselves in.

COVID-19 that happened on us is undeniable now! What do we do with it is the question?

To a greater majority it caught us pants down, save for the video that showed President Barack Obama talk about the likelihood of a pandemic that is flu like, and he predicted that this may happen between five and ten years, so this clearly validates the fact that the intelligence community of some "big-boy" nations knew that something was afoot.

Naturally they did not share the info, no heads up, and when it happened for some reason they have casualties in tens of thousands and Africa is dealing with losses painfully so too but not posting the figures from the big-boy nations.

We can say we were caught napping because we were not privy to the information and sadly too those who were and hoarded the info, regrettably did not work on it, and today they will not say the fault is in their stars, but here we are paying for a meal we did not partake in.

Now that we are at this point, as I said on a National Television station yesterday, we must domesticate our action, we cannot continue to lap up the cut and paste methodologies of coping with CORONA VIRUS as handed to us.

Its time for us to own our response and stop REACTING!!!

Virtually all we know and work with by way of information and knowledge were handed down and not one thing in terms of response has evolved generically from within and among us in Africa. Not one.

We woke up to directives from others that we should wash our hands frequently, even times for 20 seconds, that we should wear masks, self isolate, social distancing, quarantine and the ultimate prize LOCKDOWN strategy!

Now my worry is that the Lockdown which is the most far reaching of the "directives" handed down is not very compatible with us as Africans, it does not match up with our lives, in principle, pattern and not informed or supported by our socio-economic realities!

But Lockdown we must. Little wonder why today the society is bursting at the seams because it's strange to us to stay locked in!!!, indeed it's when they say we should stay inside that our pristine nature pushes us out!!! That's us!.

We have a lot of homeless people , whose bed spaces are makeshift kiosks that doubles up in the day as "stands" for itinerant food sellers and when night falls becomes the "homes" of many people at the various motor parks.

In other climes , there are homeless people mostly on drugs, but not as many as we have in this part of the world, and somehow they still have a working social security system that knows them and has provision for them every week, that offers not only actual economic reprieve but psychological buffer against hopelessness.

In many African nations, such a near perfect social security system does not exist, and where it does like in Nigeria, it is fraught with irregularities and the absurdity of a bloated register, sometimes burdened by corruption. But Lockdown we must.

So in determining the efficacy of such any strategy, it is clear that the structure to build the Lockdown strategy upon as it is elsewhere does not exist here in Africa. So its a mismatch, that can only serve momentarily not enduringly.

Then about 80% of the 1.4 billion Africans have subsistence lifestyle, their livelihood is dependent on what they do during the day, from cart pushing, through Cab driving to local hair dresser, barbers, newsvendors, masons, painters, Students, Bludgeoning populationof unemployedand underemployed, to "Mama Put" restauranteurs etc to all of these people Lockdown as a strategy is seen as punishment i.e depriving them the opportunity to access and earn legitimate income to keep themselves and families alive, but Lockdown we must.

Now in many countries in Africa, governments are grappling with growing citizen resistance, restlessness and managing that may be difficult in the days ahead, going by what we now see on the streets with attacks on vehicles conveying food items during the day and attacks on neighbourhoods that seems to belong to those perceived as more immune to the consequences of the Lockdown strategy.

Now as at today, nobody can safely tell what will happen next after the next lock down date, another extension? how do we measure the impact of Lockdown? when it did not prevent death of thousands in more organised countries?

But what I know is that with the resistance that is brewing now, the policemen drafted to enforce the lock down will be overwhelmed by the sheer number of people that will over run them in an event of another lockdown extension. Let's prepare for that. And we do not need high handed treatment of citizens who are already groaning under the weight of this pandemic as it is.

A minor drama happened in Abuja, Nigeria, where a grown up man was being restrained by security operatives from going into town , coming from the suburbs, the man simply went berserk and stripped his clothes to his butts screaming , how do I feed my family? You say I should stay at home? What will i eat? It's obvious that the man believes that it's better to run away from hunger than from CORONA VIRUS.

So we have reacted enough, it's time to respond, and this is where my grandmother's statement comes in handy!

We simply cannot abandon our lives and our world to Corona, as morbidly cruel as it is, the reality is that how long can our safety be guaranteed in our homes , if our streets remain unsafe?

God forbid that death begins to knock on our doors since we are all ensconed in our homes!,

Death in this instance from massive hunger, (that palliatives cannot handle) death from inability of the sick to access medicare, because of Lockdown or afford their medications, death from poor electricity in our homes to power fans in this very hot weather, death from frustrations, feeling of hopelessness or helplessness or both and above all death from armed robbers who will do anything to survive! Their victims are defined by the neighborhoods and appearances.

Definitely death will stalk us.

So it's time to respond, based on and motivated and informed by our realities as Africans, from socio economic to cultural and even politically.

For me the way out is to push the borders and boundaries of strategies foisted on us from other climes causing us to react permanently as against responding.

We must not react perpetually which is what we have been doing with adoption of all the strategies that have been handed down from other climes, suggesting that we are not a thinking lot.

Now there is the unseen strategy that the guys who passed down the present strategies that we are adopting today, will never tell us or encourage us to do.

They will never report that or put them up for discussion until they succeed and then we become either guinea pigs or further slip in Africa's comfort zone of age long dependence on others for solutions to her problems, insatiable palate for quick fixes!

This is the strategy of getting local scientists and researchers to go into aggressive research, this is one strategy that is always kept in the background.

As at today, there is nothing to suggest that Africans believe that they have capacity or capability to handle their own problems , rather they wait for somebody from somewhere else to figure out the solution to their problems!

This is one of the biggest shameful attributes of Africans today.

It took a Bill and Melisa Gate to champion the cause of polio vaccination in Africa, the unfolding events are telling now, that this may not be altruistic afterall in the light of the revelations about Bill Gates tacit support for the evil "#depopulation #philosophy"that will reduce the population of Africans to 500million!

He has admitted to funding five organisations to produce vaccines against Corona VIRUS! He is not interested in vaccines against other medical challenges, this new foray and enterprise are both driven by mercantilism and #morbid #masochism.

Africa must not forget the vaccination test where innocent children from Northern Nigeria were the Guinea pigs and they died in thousands from the consequences of the administration of that vaccine.

Who knows the fate that awaits Africans when Bill Gates vaccines are concluded, already two french sadists doctors have identified Africa as a place to run the tests, which is being protested against weakly, and Democratic Republic of Congo already indicated acceptance.

So why won't Africans pick up the gauntlet?

And save Africans from those who run with the hare and hunt with the hounds? Those who show up like helping us to dry our wet clothes but are the ones really encouraging the water conduit that makes us wet!

Why must we wait on others to find solutions for us? Since Ebola outbreak about five years ago, Africa has lacked the initiative to find a vaccine or an effective, efficient and potent treatment plan or management regime for this monstrous death laden virus five years later? We are waiting on other people!!

Shamelessly Africans have not deemed it fit to conquer our age long Malaria till date! Malaria and polio are still killer diseases in Africa.

Incidentally a drug called COTEXCIN was manufactured in China! for Africa about ten years ago, and guess what? The raw materials for the production came from nowhere else but you know it, AFRICA! Now shipped to us for consumption.

Nigerian government formally introduced and launched the drugs when the Chinese brought back the medication to us. I know their agents.

Now we are here now, what are we going to do with this?

The truth is that within this whole morbid and surreal situation lies some opportunities and the first is that Africans must quit the dependency mentality, where all we do is depend on others for solutions to our problems from badly skewed Aids and loans to Relief materials and all manner of interventions for survival.

This must stop, that is one of the inherent lessons that must not be lost on the leaderships on the continent from the COVID-19 malady.

Now two clear basics moving forward.

Firstly, all of the strategies handed down to us and that we have imbibed WILL NOT END CORONA VIRUS!!!

The aggregate expected value proposition of all these strategies is to reduce incidents, and incidences and occurrences until such a time that we either have a vaccination or safe medications to treat it! Pure and Simple.

Now that we do know that these are the two ends of the spectrum, vaccines or medication for treatment, so what is Africa doing to connect with these reality?

We have heard of several home remedies and all sorts of claims from people, its worrisome that our consciousness is not awake to the fact that the guys undertaking research into vaccines and drugs outside of Africa do not have two heads!

Why won't we just develop an aggressive strategy that is home grown from Africa, using Africa natural endowments for liberation of Africans should by now be a front burner strategy that we cannot afford to ignore or make light of.

Why must we wait for solutions from outside of Africa and be so dependent, while our people keep languishing through these painful times, when we also could try to seize the moment and use this opportunity to lead the world?

I am certainly convinced that Africans with the right incentives can find a way out of these, if the right environment is created.

It is time to think of responding and stop REACTING, Africa must seize the moment and break this dependence hold and appendage effigy mentality image that we have all regretably cut.

We have this moment to seize.

And we must do it Now, lest we again lose a moment to further deepen the meaning of our independence and earn the respect that our sovereignty should naturally attract.

CONGRESSMAN BIMBO DARAMOLA IN COLLABORATION WITH CHELSEA AND ROLAND AROGE FOUNDATION (CRAF) FEEDS HUNDRED OF KIDS IN IPAJA COMMUNITY, ALIMOSHO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF LAGOS.
Chelsea and Roland Aroge Foundation (CRAF) “end hunger” Noodles covid 19 lockdown campaign enters day 7 today with a tumultuous reception by vulnerable and hungry kids within Ipaja community courtesy of a surprise donation by Congressman Bimbo Daramola, founder and initiator of #OneUnitedAfrica who collaborated with the laudable project being embarked upon by CRAF under the SDG # 2 theme – End hunger. Leaders across the world have put together a monumental opportunity under goal# 2 to improve nutrition, increase food security and promote sustainable agriculture.
It was obvious that it is definitely going to be a challenging celebration as the lockdown has destabilized many families. CRAF embarked on a proactive response to the covid 19 emergency by providing palliatives to a few of their peers in the community owing to the donations received from both individuals and corporate entities.
Their Covid 19 Kitchen has not been able to take off in full swing as they do not have consistent supplies. At times they have to distribute their donations in raw form so that their recipients can go and complete the reparations of the meal on their own. This is what informed the Easter noodles campaign which ended today. They will continue giving away noodles and raw eggs even after the campaign. They want to believe that other donors would emerge, which includes FMCG manufacturing companies who are the custodians of the products that children need most especially during this Covid 19 lockdown.
What will become of our covid 19 kitchen operation as Federal Government has announced an extension of the first lockdown order? That was what Roland and Chelsea pondered about until help came from a foremost Pan-Africanist, philanthropist and leader extra-ordinary, Congressman Bimbo Daramola who was showered prayers by the kids and parents of the recipients of today’s handouts.
A big "thank you" to their donor, Congressman Bimbo Daramola who was appreciated by the organisation as the pioneer VIRTUAL SDG 17 AWARDEE who made their Covid 19 kitchen activities to continue to run in spite of the hard times that everyone is facing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfHtxolBMTw
Although they are getting bored with staying away from school, nevertheless, the activities of the covid19 kitchen has kept them going. They are so grateful to God for this kind gesture and unusual privileged. CRAF is aimed at continuing the struggle to end hunger in all its form by the year 2030, what about you?

Politics / Chelsea & Roland Aroge Foundation (CRAF) Feeds Kids At Ipaja, Alimosho LGA,Lagos by moneywealt: 5:11pm On Apr 11, 2020
CHELSEA & ROLAND AROGE FOUNDATION (CRAF)

CHELSEA AND ROLAND AROGE FOUNDATION·THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2020·

Chelsea and Roland are kid SDG advocates in the rural Ipaja community in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos Nigeria where they were both born about a decade ago. They have been inspired to embrace the sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which were put together by 193 countries under UN agreement in 2015.

The 17 goals jointly endorsed by the 193 countries are meant to bridge the gap between the rich and poor countries, without living anyone behind. Their ability to take action and pull the vision of SDG 2: "End hunger"(improving nutrition, achieving food security and promoting sustainable agriculture) evolved from here.

While they appreciate the covid-19 lockdown, they saw a looming challenge for other kids who may not be able to feed during this lockdown. Their immediate action plan is to attract influential people to mobilize resources towards getting food into the Ipaja community to help them achieve the Chelsea and Roland Aroge (CRA) lunch pack. This is a free food pack which is "not for sale", to handed over to children in the community at least once a day for a start with 100 units and more as the provision and capacity increases.
They have suggested and successfully secured permission for the conversion of their school facility into a COVID-19 KITCHEN. With the help of teaching and non academic staff of their school who live in the same community, they believe that they can get a lot of food, cook and served to the community to enable people stay alive and healthy while the lockdown persists. To this end, they have gained access to catering equipment, utensils and volunteers for the work.

The only pending input they are now left with, are: food stuff and logistics which are needed to achieve their dream. It will be a thing of joy for them to see this service to humanity crystallize, especially in the next 14 days of Lagos total lockdown and in the post covid-19 resettlement period which is not predictable at the moment.

At this junction, they are soliciting for urgent support for food stuff, logistics and cash from the government, other NGOs, Corporate organizations and good-hearted philanthropists across the globe, to help mobilize support for the vulnerable and less privileged in their immediate community- Ipaja, and its environ. Your Reputation of building people to fulfil their destinies is a purpose that you have found and take delight in giving all of yourself to.

History is replete with examples.

Our terrain is dotted by men and women whose rise today is intrinsically linked with meeting you and their stories took a turn for the better.

These alone are permanent footprints in the sands of time that No revisionist can change, they can only deny it.

There are many today whose journeys would have been different, maybe not glowingly as they are today without that Asiwaju quotient.

Today, if we celebrate you for being a political war horse, we will be correct, if we celebrate you for your political intuition, it will be justified, if we celebrate you for your political sagacity, we will be on point, but today the greatest basis for celebrating you is because your greatness is rooted in building people and taking them closer to their dreams and making them fulfilled souls.

It is on the basis of this that I most respectfully join your family, friends and numerous admirers to celebrate you for earning your place in the right places, in the lives of men.

Because life is nothing without purpose, to have known and related with you closely is a great privilege, having drank out of your fountain of resilience in the face of adversity, and staying on track when all else look bleak.

Your life among others bear eloquent testimony to and exemplifies pursuit of conviction, standing up for what one believes in and giving it the best shot.

I recall how you led us from opposition, two decades ago committing all, giving that well defined goal all, when we were down to one State and you navigated and walked us steadily under your shield, led us back to reckoning of having six (6) States and then working with others to the centre.

Your days and years as that one Governor that survived the holocaust in the Western geopolitical zone, and went on to recalibrate Lagos sufficiently enough to occupy her place and not to depend on Abuja are stories awaiting to be told for generations to learn from, the sure foundation that you laid for the rebirth of Lagos State. It can only be an Asiwaju to be that daring.

Your imprints are deep and bold for generations to come.

Happy Birthday our own Jagaban Borgu, the only Jagaban of Africa.

I join millions to celebrate you Sir and wish you more years of making men and helping them to fulfil purpose and that way fulfilling yours.

Happy Birthday Sir. Many Happy Returns
