Theolink: I don't believe in talking too much. Note the following and ask no further questions please. FIRS did recruitment in November and December 2016. All such staff are already on duty across states in Nigeria. It is for the selected highly connected. The next recruitment you guys are waiting for will form part of 2017 budget and not the 2016 some of you are waiting for. Hopefully the budget for 2017 will be approve before July 2017. For now the Firs is considering the recruitment for July 2017. This also is subject to change. How do I know all these? From the office of the------. I got a part there. Had you resumed work in January as "said/planned/claimed/promised/prophesied/boasted"? Well, for me, I believe you talked too much. All the same, thanks for the info. |

Yaasir: They have not recruited anybody recently. The last official recruitment was June last year, though few of them are yet to resume due to one reason or the other. The recruitment will take longer than expected due to extraneous factors. There will be test. The number of applicants has also been reduced to less than 100k. The test invite will be sent after 2nd level screening, which is geared towards reducing the number further. There is provision for merit and "other considerations". As for their budget, it will take miracle to get the approval before March. Firs committed unpardonable blunders and national assembly is cashing on it to score point. Thanks Bro. I've been waiting for your update (especially on the issue of budget approval). And thanks again for your patience with us and your responses accordingly. |

FAVOUR13: Which budget again? Wasn't 16 billion naira approved in the last year's budget for the purpose of this recruitment? If you are talking about this year's budget, then it should be for a different purpose. The thing now is just God o. I mean only God knows their mind "The committee also kicked against appropriation of over N16 bn for salaries of 1 , 250 staff yet to be recruited in 2016 by the FIRS . He said , “ You may not have these people on board , maybe until the middle of this year and you have already allocated over N 16 bn . If you do common calculation, you would discover that the money is too much even for 12 months . ” The FIRS boss however explained that any amount approved but which was not expended , would be returned to the government treasury ." ( http://punchng.com/budget-senate-faults-firs-n16bn-salary-for-proposed-staff/) "In his remarks, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who took a swipe at late submission of budgets of government departments and agencies, especially revenue generating agencies as the FIRS, however, warned that going forward, budgets of special agencies not included in the yearly budget must be submitted not later than the first quarter of the year. Saraki said: “I will partly blame these things on the late submission of budgets. This practice where government agencies send their budgets late to the National Assembly and expect them to be passed immediately will not be tolerated. “They must submit their budgets early so that we can have enough time to work on their proposals. If we do that, these issues we have here will not arise. The relevant committees should take note of that and ensure that the right thing is done.” Saraki, thereafter, ruled and returned the report to Senator Enoh’s committee to tidy it up and report back within one week." ( http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/11/senate-rejects-firs-budget/) Now that the whole thing has leaped into 2017, does it mean that 2016 was not a fiscal year? This is so unclear. |

siina: Am not trying to be blunt and all, but I think you should have first hand info on if the recruitment will take place may/june and not based on "I hear". Please help us confirm from your source He has done well my friends. "Hear Say" is still not forbidden here. We should evaluate every post and make good meanings out of it. If anyone else comes here to say that the whole thing will be in December this year or next, I will understand, as long as the budget is yet to be approved by the red chamber. |

moshmod101: Hello house, how can I retrieve my details on the Firs portal or the ref number after successful registration... any help will be appreciated.... Use a PC to access your emails. Go through the following mail folders as the case may apply to yours: Inbox, Junk, Spam, Trash/Trashed, Delete/Deleted and Others If you hadn't been checking your application status when the View Window was still wide open, then there's a problem. If you had not seen/ written / snapshot/ printed/ noted/ saved or secured your application details immediately after registration, then there's bigger problem If you can't find the confirmation mail anywhere in your mail Inbox or Spam or Junk, there's a strong indication that your registration was unsuccessful. But why now? I think I'm getting to see why this exercise is on hold. God help us. |

The truth is that candidates that are qualified for the interview had been selected and invitations will be send in due course.

Monicks: For an agency as large as like this? I think it's worth it. Besides, I don't believe it's heavily padded if at all. How about the N3.6b for 360 lawmakers on Luxery Cars alone? The same people who can afford almost anything in Naija including flight tickets any day!
Luxery cars from Government coffer to people who can even afford them on their own is an act of wickedness to the people especially at this critical time when, getting out of recession is not even certain come 2017. It's another week today guys, let's just pray and hope that the amended budget report will be approved, so as to know the way forward. |

Before we knew it, they already started sharing 'Tear rubber' P... 508. I wonder how short it took 'them them' to approve their own N3.6b budget for car gifts, when "there are 29 budgets of other departments and agencies of the Federal Government currently before the Senate which are yet to be approved".
What 'luxury' at this period of reduced economic activity.
A day will come when the people will not only vote them in or out but also vote their benefits and allowances somehow. This car matter just dey vex me o! N3.6b? |

Look at d title of dis our thread, 1250 but according to mr flower before d green chamber committee on petition, he said only 500 ppl will b employed. gigaboy: Are you guys aware that nearly 80% of you are not really qualified for this job? This is a position for Tax Auditors who must be professionally qualified Chartered Accountants with ACA or CNA. There are less than 40,000 Chartered Accountants (Dead & Alive) in Nigeria and about 120,000 ANAN members. Which means that the total is not more than 160,000 (and of course all cant apply). The only area this may not be required is SL10- Tax Officer II, that is for trainee. If you apply for SL9 & SL8 without a Professional Accounting Certificate and no Masters, how do you think you will be considered among 700,000?. Kindly note that the basic requirements is first degree or HND with Professional Accounting Certification. It is a position for professional cadre. It would have been different if other departments had been considered but that had been filled through the secret recruitment of May 2016. This info is from an inside source. I really don't see the reason to quote me. Thanks for the Info though. |

MrsAnyanwu: tnx dear, but I'm using a laptop, how do I compress it, it's already in PDF format Download either CutePdf or MagicPdf. Note: there is a difference between printer software and software printers. These are software printers that can print(convert) almost any document to pdf format with no watermarks. Once any of these software has been installed successfully, here's how it works: -select and open the document you wish to print or resize -initiate a print command (I.e Contol P) -From the drop down menu on the Print Property Sheet, select the printer you just installed (i.e CutePdf or MagicPdf) -On the same Print property sheet, click on the Printer Properties Tab (Properties) to locate the resizing functions of that printer -Keep playing around with the resizing features until desired achieved. -Ok your commands accordingly and press print. -check your new file format and size. -If File size not desired, reprint the new file paying more attention to resizing. |

Osusha: Fellow Nairalanders, I can confirm to you from a reliable source that candidates that are qualified for electronic test had been selected and invitation will be sent next week. My source plead with me to prepare very well for the test because my name is among those to be invited, but what he did not tell me is where the questions will come from. I am very optimistic that most of us nairalanders will be invited by God grace but I urge everyone NOT to rely on GMAT only as questions could come from anywhere. Read other materials and rely on God for favour. Good luck to whoever is invited. Thanks. Next week? How sure? We've heard this before remember? Some have gone into hiding in shame for false information. Although I want to believe you because I didn't see anything close to 'Recruitment/Training Funds or The like, in the recently rejected budget |
