Who's the 'We'. Besides, the logical thing to do when making a decision such as buying a car is to consider alternatives and explore the cheapest yet best option. This is what makes one a rational thinker. Its easy to give the above kind of suggestions until you are in the shoes of the decision maker. There are some things Nigeria hasn't gotten right and I'm not going to be the first to test it with my hard earned money. Tell our Legislators, Ministers, Governors, ministries and Agencies to use made in Nigeria Cars, then we all will follow. In Nigeria talk is very cheap until execution starts. Anyway, thanks for the Cotonou and Duty hint. I appreciate. |
Hello All, Pls I'm considering bringing in a Toyota Corolla 2005 model from Canada to Nigeria. The purchase price($4k) + Shipping($2k) from Canada is about $6k. I really want to know how much it will take to clear the car in Nigeria. Is there a fixed percentage based on the year of the car. Pls with the detail I just gave I need to know the recent cost of clearing, because I heard there's a new automotive policy (duty) now. Help is needed pls as I want to know which is cheaper: Buying from Cotonou, Buying in Nigeria or Bringing it in myself from Canada. Thanks for your anticipated response/assistance. |

Sensible reply only pls. The earlier he is reported and stopped, the better for someone somewhere. Who knows if he might actually succeed scamming someone next week if he is not stopped. And that someone might just be someone close to you. This world is a small place, pls lets make it safe for us all. |
Hello Everyone Pls I need advice on how to report an MTN 419 number that has been calling me and my wife for sometime. The guy claims to be 'Mr Eze' who works with NNPC in Port Harcourt. He keeps saying he wants to give me or my wife a supply contract and that we should get a pen and paper to take down information. Then he always pleads for us to call him back as his credit is almost finished. Before I could shout at him or say anything, he cuts the call. Guys, I believe this is the reason phone numbers were registered to people's identity. How can I report him to the necessary authority? Pls this nonsense has got to stop. |

A nairalander above me said 'Personally, he thinks there's nothing we can do about the epileptic power supply'. I strongly disagree with his point. If you are interested, contact me. The company I work with is making a small solar system (500w) available to Nigerians on a Pay-As-You-Go basis. Its enough to power 6 lights bulbs (Low wattage bulbs e.g 9 watts) 1 TV, DSTV box, home theatre, 1 standing fan and charging of phones and Laptops, All for a daily fee of, N300 daily. It can power you for 24 hours if used efficiently, but during the day when there is daylight, you are guaranteed of 12 hours. Now imagine running your small gen for 12 hours daily for 1 month. Guys, we really need to learn how to think outside the box, this power problem can be solved. |
