Sometimes some people ridicule nigeria because they have not gone out, when you ask nigerians abroad.they will tell you know place like home.even as bad as Nigeria is,it's still a good place .Every country has its own problem. The best place to make money is Africa, not abroad.Every cent you make abroad goes back to their economy.you work your life out to sustain their economy.while Nigerians are sleeping ,some of the people working abroad are already at work.do you know people wake up so early to work in some places doing tedious work and sleep late and because they send you money .you think life is easy for them.Do you know how many work some Nigerians are doing to survive .do you know the kind of racism they go thru.do you think they are given hundred percent opportunities abroad.some spend several years abroad with nothing to show.do you know there are many people who have spent 30 years abroad without having houses abroad.they build house in Nigeria and when they build house.do you think many can afford to build a house in banana island .I am not saying some cant afford it.the truth is that most Nigerians abroad are just average people abroad and not extremely rich

Even 50 years with no house sef. That one na normal things. Even if you get am, na in moRtGage

Blessed on your comment, while someone just said it's better to live on the bus in UK then live at banana island. It's well.

21 years ago was 1999. Which military regime kept him from coming back since then?
His peers are DGs, managers, business owners in all kinds of fields now. Is it now he will start building towards retirement?

My people, please don't go and waste your life in obodo oyinbo. The best situation is those who hustle and make it here, and can visit that side any bloody time they want.

People say no jobs, no opportunities... There are tons of people making it big in legitimate businesses, so unless you're waiting for a job to land in your lap, you need to go out and seize the multitude of opportunities out there.

The beauty of the story is that he didn't for once taught of returning to Nigeria. It took him many years and he turned a good person. He didn't allow the harshness of poverty or frustration make him a gangsta. He was good and the people saw the kindness in him and helped him.
May our helper locate us this year 2020. IJN. Amen.
aah. Who want be gangstahuh?? AGBeRO is a little bit better. At least it's a little more dignifying as a Black in a Black Country. The worst thing is just traveling from Nigeria to be a gangster here especially Akata

On top looking for greener pastures! Seriously, even if he started with selling gala or "pure" water anywhere in nigeria, after 20 years he would have been better off than wasting all those years playing hide-and-seek with the police in oyibo land. Now 55, no wife, no children, no job, where will he start?
FiRst, if he doesn't have Returning papers for re-entry into the u.k, he shouldn't Return because they would ban him permanently for over 10years and further till he sorts things out.
2.) He didn't or may not have established contacts to start up something in nigeria. He shouldn't return.
You don't just appear anywhere and things start working.
Look at you talking about him coming to sell gala, I wonder what kind of human being you are really

This is difficult to understand. Wasting all of 21 years jumping away one's destiny. Am I the only one who thinks the refugee aspect of running from an iron-cast dictatorship was cooked up by guyman? Raise your hand if u thought so too. Nigerians cant cease to amaze me. For God's sake people still make it in Nigeria!!

so a 15yr old kid don't know what cultism is.. so every single mistake u make, u push d result to someone. D mother sent her kid to school to learn like other kids, d school should be held responsible.. a kid spend only Saturdays n Sundays with d parents n barely see them on week days, soon you'll be a father.

Like BRIANWARNER of marilyn manson abi? LOOL
kiyosaki1:
Marley is an entertainer yes, he reels out what a moral police like yourseif, judges to be non conformity with the the norm of your so righteous society" which is very perfect" .The last time I checked, the control button is still on the dstv remote and ,as a parent you have the right to buy Internet enable phone for your wards or not to buy at all. May be you don't know parenting goes beyond providing for the needs of your children alone, but to whip them in line ,and to behave according to your set standards . America is a worst society where we have hundreds of naira marely , but we still have millions of teenagers that are not swayed by the so call bad influencers in the society, mainly thanks to good parenting jobs. Am not arguing about Wether marely is a saint or not ,that's not our cocern as a parent, but our main concern is to make sure that our wards are not sway by this so called wolf's out there ,since they would always be there.
If the mother does her duty well as a parent in the first instance, there are tendecies that her child can never, I repeat be swayed by the negatives out there, you can see now that the fault squarely rest with the bulk passing mum.

God Bless you and your family abundantly.
DEVELOPING AFRICA IS THE ONLY WAY OUT. NOt by sacking racist employees and making African Disney princesses with Wakaanda movies. That may be good. But it doesnt attack the root problem. Till then, BleaChing Continues..
holymiles:
write up is brilliant and it captured the problem in a clear and simple manner. but the little solution proffered at the end is bullshit. it is a problem of perception you can't solve it by just working together which is more like treating AIDS with paracetamol.
the solution is to develop Africa to erase the perception of primitive-ness and backwardness.
African Americans should also stop glorifying crime and drugs. this is evident on most music videos and films.

Apt. I guess it's a thing with black folks who still live with their oppressors. They don't have the balls to take the fight to their real enemies they'd rather look for Nigerians to use as scapegoats and blame for their problems. Who uses slavery as excuse in 2020? Pathetic
I call it living with my cult members. Which kind oppressors? I lOve white people DIE

Nigeria now have a booming porn industry.

There is a porn company in lekki funded by a white man.

If you see the ladies there eh? They are so clean and fresh.

Cleaner than many people's girlfriends. They look like office workers.
Please tell me more about this?

So what is the way out?

This is 2020.
We need solutions.

BTW, the girls in question are "Self-employed" with no government resources whatsoever.

Hence, their REVENUE is not TAXABLE.

If the government were responsible, some of the girls won't be on that track.
Self employed with no GOVERNMENT resources whatever. GoDBlessyouforthat
