Business › Re: 1000+ Tips To Help You Grow A Successful Business: A Must Read For Entrepreneurs by monteriza(op): 12:51pm On Nov 21, 2015 |
Define your brand. No two businesses are alike just as no two customers are. Hence, there is need for you to brand your business. What does your business stand for? What differentiates your business from other businesses in your industry? What do you want to be known for in the market place? What is that special thing about your business?
One of the best things that will ever happen to your business is for you to define your brand and consistently communicate and promote your Unique Selling proposition(USP), the unique qualities that differentiate your products from the multitude and compelling reason customers will patronize you instead of your rival. Your goal is to be different and better than your competitors, and the first step to achieving that is to ask yourself – What does my business stand for? What do I want my business to be known for? And What picture do I want to create in the minds of my customers and the general public?
Then go ahead and make your business look exactly the way you want the public to see it. I always tell my audience to take dressing from the likes of Mr Biggs, Tantalizer, etc. People have been selling rice and ‘dodo’ before the owners of these businesses were born. But they were able to make a brand out of the ordinary, turning it into a household name. Some of the food we buy from ‘Mama Put’ is more delicious than that of the fast food, but when we patronize them, and they tell us a plate is N400, we say it’s too expensive. But we can afford to pay N1,500 or more for less in fast food spots without complaining. That is the power of branding in business.

Business › 1000+ Tips To Help You Grow A Successful Business: A Must Read For Entrepreneurs by monteriza(op): 12:13pm On Nov 21, 2015 |
Good day,
I have in the past started a couple of threads on business tips, but unfortunately I was compelled to stop as a result of my very tight work schedule. I'm now into something else which takes less of my time. I pray God grants me the will to continue.
On this thread, I'm going to be sharing some very powerful business tips (not just any how tips, but actionable ones that you can implement in your business and see significant results). Most of them I've put to action in my personal ventures, my wife's, relatives' and clients' businesses and the results were commendable. However, I'll warn you against anticipating immediate outcomes. You could get frustrated if you expect too much within a short period. Business is not Magic
Stay tuned for the first tip!
I remain, Yours Sincerely, Monteriza

Can you also confirm for LO 11 Petroleum Marketing? Mazimc: Up till now, there is no LO 1 in Petroleum and Natural Gas Processing Department. And I am in Warri now and have been to the department but yet no offer for the five of us that attended interview. |

I don't think that will help. Another thing with my group is that we weren't for one position but four, Lecturer Officer 11 A, B, C and D (Petroleum Marketing and Business Studies). 3 to 4 candidates were shortlisted for each. Could it be I'm the only one on Nairaland? busuyem: It really pains that u didn't get a contact of anyone from ur group. Anyway, try and check this thread from the begginning if u can get email address of anyone of them in case they on Nairaland too. |

This thread has been to the fp, so won't be placed there a second time. A new thread will do. busuyem: I think the 2getherness must start here now. Let's use social media to expose them, if the MOD of this session can help us move our observation to the front page. |

Seconded. busuyem: I'll try and consult a lawyer too right away. If nothing is done this time around, worse than this will still happen in this country. My lawyer may not win this case but the step will place watchdogs on them whenever they plan another recruitment. What the hell are they doing? Calling us to come from our individual states to write aptitude tests and interview when they knew that most of the positions had been filled with the anointed candidates is just dissapointing. They don't even mind the risk of life on Nigerian roads; they don't bother about our expenses even the rigorous stress. Nigeria must change! |

@Busuyem: I was there myself yesterday and my deduction is similar to your discovery. That was what prompted the post I ended with "RIP Nigeria". Now I'm thinking of sueing someone for deceit. I'm no longer interested in the st*pid job. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Currently Recruiting by monteriza(m): 5:38am On Feb 27, 2015 |
I may be wrong, but my thought is that they've used some of their special candidates to fill in those positions. If that's the situation, why make people go through so much stress for nothing? It's really unfortunate. |

In my opinion, only two sets of people got appointment letters, viz: The connected and the lucky ones. The lucky ones are those who do not have godfathers. They were successful because the connected ones are not interested in the positions they applied for. |

If at all there's a list, it's not for public consumption. busuyem: Welcome Monteriza...it's well. Pls, were u given any list 2day? Did u see the supposed remaining letters there? I don't even knw which questn to ask again. Nigeria, which way? |

I still doubt that of Lag, cos the guy has refused to tell us where he collected his. busuyem: But some folks here claimed they got their letters from Lagos and Abuja, even one claimed he got his letter from ministry of Education. U never can tell oooo...the letters might be on different journeys. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Currently Recruiting by monteriza(m): 2:10pm On Feb 25, 2015 |
I don't think letters were rent to Lagos. I was at the PTI liaison office in V/I this morning, and the lady at the helms of affairs there told me no employment letters were sent to the office. busuyem: I think u should not conclude that ur name is not there then. What if ur letter has been given to courier company b4 u got there? What if ur letter has been sent to Abuja or lagos? What if ur letter has not been written according to those who claimed that some letters in some department have not been released? Or do u knw if all letters for all department has been written and released? This issue is just becoming more complext cha. I think allowing us to check our names on their master list will settle all these problems. Checking the available letters only may still throw one into deeper confusion and ablivion. Thanks 4 ur response. |

Bros pls tell us, where exactly did you pick your letter? I just left the PTI liaison office and the person in charge, a lady told me no letters were sent there. ochallo: it is pti letter head, effirun, pti has liason offices in lagos and i think abuja too, but it's likely the letters were printed in warri and those in the north were sent to abuja and west to lagos
most of the information people are asking on this thread would not benefit them, if you can't wait then if you are close to warri, go to pti and ask, if you are close to lagos or abuja , go to their liason offices. The letters are between warri, lagos and abuja. May God reward your efforts. |

Congrats Peterside44: @ Monteriza, Katete, Mazimc, Jeniro and Jkels I have been patiently waiting for this call until today afternoon my contact address in Abuja was reached by a currier service. I will be on my way to ABJ tomorrow to get the details of the offer. I want to advice that some of us that did not receive any call yet should still exercise some patience as calls or curriers are still ongoing. We are praying with you all and i hope the offer will be on the way soon. Thanks for all your prayers guys and may God bless you richly. One love! |
