Blessing is set to feature as cast and partner in a short movie about sexual assault titled ‘Episodes,’ which will premier April 7 on Outboxtv.com. According to Lanre Adegbaju, head of Original Content at Outboxtv Online Cinema, this is a powerful and thought-provoking short movie that explores the intricate subject of sexual abuse, trivialising sexual assault leading to depression and mental health uniquely and creatively, while exploring the multidimensional effects of sexual abuse. “The movie is set to challenge the stigmas surrounding sexual assault, raise awareness of the importance of being open about our problems by showing love to one another while victims build the courage to speak out,” he stated. For Nkechi Blessing, the current state of the nation and world at large has led to growing concerns about the impact of societal anxiety on people’s emotional well-being, particularly regarding fear, social anxiety, depression, and love caused by sexual abuse. Idris Bello, lead PR on the project revealed that “It is our belief as the project initiators that Nkechi Blessing as an actor is a critical stakeholder in societal issues and can help amplify the project with the use of her platform to help secure lives of many youths especially women and girls by creating necessary awareness to help this movement.” Kasali Adesina, production manager on the project added that sexual assaults are serious and life-altering violations of a person’s dignity. This movie serves as an attempt to tell the story of date rape and sexual assault in a compelling way that has never been done before with the ultimate goal of spurring critical stakeholders into taking responsive and effective actions towards annihilating the scourge in our society. IPO ARAKEJI, IJESA, OSUN STATE INTRODUCTION Ipo Arakeji is a town located in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State Nigeria. It is in the south western part of the country, 37 km from Akure (Ondo state capital) and 69km to Osogbo (Osun State capital). The town is populated by the Yoruba tribe with inhabitants of the town generally farmers by profession. The developed land area of the town occupies about 2.7sq.km with geographical coordinates of N 7° 25′ 10.56″N, to 7° 26′ 28.32″N and 4° 56′ 34.08″E, 7° 37′ 0″N, 4° 57′ 25.92″E. The town was formerly known as Odo Ipo, Ikeji Arakeji until Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the then Governor of Osun State, approved, elevated and presented the staff of office and beaded crown to the Oba Ejisun of Ipo Arakeji, Ijesa, His Royal Majesty, Oba David Omodunbi Adekunle Ajetomobi, as the Government approved and Gazzetted traditional ruler of the town on October 11th, 2014. The town shares boundaries with Ira (headed by Olura), Ipetu (headed by Ajalaye), Ikeji-Arakeji (headed by Akeji) and Ikeji Ile (headed by Akeji Ile). Popular establishments on the land include Christ Apostolic Church Prayer Mountain, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ipo Arakeji Market, Ipo Arakeji Palace, JABU Resorts, GTBank, etc. EARLY HISTORY Ipo people in Arakeji have their origin from ILE-IFE, the cradle of the Yoruba race. The name “IPO” was abbreviated from “IPOLE”. The traditional ruler of Ipo has the title of EJISUN and he is a direct descendant of ALAAYE of IPOLE AAYE who was one of the direct sons of Oduduwa. ALAAYE OF IPOLE AAYE was commissioned with the other sons of the great Oduduwa to found Kingdoms and he was also a recipient of the BEADED CROWN (ADE ILEKE) as the symbol of the “ROYAL COMMISSION” among other paraphernalia of office. The descendants of ALAAYE of Ipole Aaye are specifically from IDIO in Ile Ife (very near to the present ENUWA, the Palace frontage of the Ooni of Ife) being the nerve center of Oduduwa Dynasty. In 1919, there was a colonial directive which led to the movement and relocation of people from Ikeji-Ile to Arakeji which means “People that met rain“. This movement was only partially successful as the town split into two. The whole of Ipo and part of Ikeji migrated to Arakeji while the whole of Ira and the remaining fraction of Ikeji remained in Ikeji-Ile (all in Oriade Local Government Area and Oriade South Local Council Development Area of Osun State). Despite the split, each of the two communities migrated to Arakeji (i.e. Ipo and Ikeji) still maintaining their separate geographical locations, separate identities, hierarchy of chiefs, traditions, farmlands, religious, political and social organizations, separate palaces and political autonomy. No one is a tenant or landlord to the other. No one pays tribute either in cash or kind to the other. The relationship between IRA, IPO AND IKEJI communities is purely con-federal for the purpose of social and infrastructural developments and intermarriage. Hence, ARAKEJI did not in any way alter or destroy the historical antecedents of the Ipo indigenes and town at large. The traditional ruler is known as EJISUN, followed by the king makers, ORISAPO, ELEMO, SAJOWA, ODOFIN, SEMO and SABA as the top six chiefs also known as the IWARAFAS and EJISUN-IN-COUNCIL. Followed by the IWARAWAS: EJEMU, AREMO, ASABA, ARO, ELEROMO and SAWE. The female line of chiefs is headed by EYEJUMU and has her chiefs: EYEISA, EYELEMO, EYESAJOWA, EYEDOFIN, EYESEMO and EYESABA. There are also six commanders of native soldiers: ELEJUWA, EMINISE, ORISA ELEBEDO, ORISA ELEJUWA and AGBA AKIN, all headed by the ELEBEDO. The Chief Priest and Diviner in Ipo Arakeji is known as “Oloriawo”, while the head of hunters is known as OLUODE. IPO ARAKEJI HAS SO FAR HAD 13 RULERS: 1. BABADU OGUN 2. AGABA OLA-ODUNDUN 3. OKODIMOYA ELEHINKUNLE ADEWURE 4. AFUNBI OWO-APATA 5. IGE OKUN AROBIERE I 6. ALOWOLODUBIAGBA 7. AGBURUGBURU Ijokun I 8. AJENIFUJA ATOBATELE 9. AMADAFERENIJU I 10. Delectable Yoruba actress and model, Bukola Olatunji is one of the young Yoruba actresses making waves in the movie industry, with their talents and looks. She’s a public Administration graduate of the Polytechnic of Ibadan. Her acting journey started with a drama group known as Igbalajobi and has featured in so many films, having produced six of her own, namely; Ini Oluwa, Ife Inu Mi, Ayanmo, Kosi Ife, Akutu and Esan Laye. In a recent encounter with Showtime Bonus the 6-footer let us into her heart. On being sexy Being sexy to me comes with an attitude of confidence and being comfortable with one’s body and self… And I will say women should flaunt their endowments, because you have to appreciate yourself if no one appreciates you. Influence of social media As an actress, Social media has and will continue to be of great benefit. It doesn’t only help with personal name and brand recognition, but it can connect you with peers and industry professionals you should know (and who should know you!). Plus, when it comes to larger film projects, casting directors and marketing departments are definitely paying attention to actor’s social media followings to gauge their online reach—for better or worse. Embarrassing day It was actually funny and embarrassing -There was this day I went to the supermarket with my sister and she forgot my ATM card in the car so I shouted at her, and a lady walked up to tell me and said, “Hey this is exactly how you do shout in movies”. I felt so embarrassed. On feminism Feminism to me is about all genders having equal rights and opportunities. It’s about respecting diverse women’s experiences, identities, knowledge and strengths, and striving to empower all women to realize their full potential. Major turn offs and allergies I can stand few things but bad body and mouth odour is a total turnoff for me in the opposite sex and I don’t act nude scenes. Selling points I will say my beauty and my height are my selling points. A lot of people tell me to my face they love my height. Goals My ultimate goals as an actor are to be famous, to impact knowledge and to be well respected. Naija music industry will soon be based on secret cult level, which is getting more obvious... Trust me, “It Will End In Tears” If you are following all the signings and helps on social media lately, you will notice this too. Most signings and help in the industry this days are based on the Frat you belong to. I won’t mention names so you won’t say I’m pointing finger. This act won’t help but destroy the youth and the industry. If this continues, most upcoming would have no choice than to join the cult that would favor them. I just want everyone to remember that “The Day You Join A Secret Cult, The Countdown To Your Death Day Begins”. Plenty Talk No Dey Full Basket...
