jdf99: the skills test was physical. the head of hr said the next stage was interview, then medicals.
it was only one panel interview with the finance team and the CFO.
there were no technical questions, just scenario based interview question.
but this was 2013. things might have changed now. Thank you. Please point us in the direction of the nairaland thread, if there was any |

Remmedy: Good evening Everyone I still doubt anyone has gotten an invitation email or success mail…. Assessments are fully done before emails indicating next stages are sent … What of a case more better candidates are discovered It’s always I heard , I heard over here .. even someone above said he was going to confirm from someone he’s sure has gotten up to now nothing
So assessment is still ongoing and I’m sure before the end of July everyone will know his or her stand .. SHELL can’t leave you on standby
Yes it’s highly competitive , a current beneficiary of the program said during his time some ODVI videos you submitted was analyzed from Recruiters abroad to make sure it’s fair and square ..they took just 15 out of thousands .. Graduates from Imperial College London and Harvard applied too so you know the level of programme you are applying for…..
Don’t lose hope because even people from Nigerian universities and polytechnics applied too and some got …
Keep your fingers crossed and Hope for the best .. I also believe that no one has received a success mail yet. Fingers crossed 🤞 |

fisimaster: Come you’re not getting it Some of These companies won’t bother to send a rejection letter to you to let you know that you’re no longer considered. For perspective I applied for baker Hughes,ExxonMobil, BAT since last year/this year January No response rejection or congratulation emails And people have done final stages So what does that tell you Not all companies are the same Companies like kpmg would get back to you most of the time to let you know your fate But these IOC’s no get strength for that kain tin Mind you there’s a lot of nepotism in oil and gas industry I get you. But going by precedence, Shell doesn't move like Baker Hughes and others that you mentioned. They reach out from time to time with either a rejection mail or a success mail. The fact that nepotism is the order of the day in IOCs doesn't mean that they won't select the best people they see fit. Like it or not, these IOCs are more populated by merit candidates than by nepo babies. So, compete hard, pray harder and do it over and over again until you get that dream job. |

Lol you guys are funny sha. You come here and see positive comments and then be like: "you like the positivity hovering around here..." and then go on to try to kill it Regardless of whatever has happened, you're in the race until Shell says it's over for you. Dent your own hopes and let others hope on if they want. |

I got to Eko Hotel around 7.30am that day, which I'd say was just on time, as they started calling us upstairs about 10 mins later. So for our successors coming to seek for one or two gists, I'd say "be yourself" on that day. I've joined the "be yourself crooners". Also, maintain professionalism. Just see that day like a normal day at the office. This is important because those tasks are designed for calm and collected heads. Don't let anxiety get the best of you. The group exercise was daunting for my team due to time constraint, but I think we gave it our best shot, though we didn't finish discussing all the issues. Fact finding was bizarre lol. My assessors were cheerful though. When I made my decision they both looked at me like I had made a mistake then they started playing devil's advocate for the option I dropped. I stood my ground with facts. Analysis and presentation was something else. my assessors didn't smile with me one bit. Time flew by so fast I could only scribble a few things to barely fill up a page of the chart. If you hear the atrocious questions those men threw at me after my presentation! I got the Peter Lorenzo question too lol. How can they be asking me the business' operating hours? They asked about 5-7 questions before the time elapsed and we called it a day. And as for the food, I had lots of the suya and pastries for breakfast such that I could only eat scantily during lunch. I was really impressed with their detail-oriented planning of the process. So smooth. It was fun. Can't wait to see that bumper offer! God abeg!! |
