PoliticsThe Undiluted Truth ....jonathan's Administration Was The Best Since 1960. by mordsith(op): 4:23pm On Feb 20, 2016
Goodluck Jonathan was the best executive President
Nigeria ever had. This is the reason Islamic hausa-
fulani-Yoruba APC is fighting the truth which is a
standard they don't want to be judged with.

*CNN Money projected that the fastest growing economy
in the world in 2015 will be China (7.3% growth);
followed by Qatar (7.1%) and then followed by Nigeria
(7%). this attests to the astute management of the
economy by the Jonathan administration under the
ministerial assistance of the world renown economist
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Igbo).

* Nigeria's Gross domestic Product ranked the nation's
economy 1st in Africa and 26th globally; from 3rd and
46th respectively. The economy became more widely
diversified than before.

* Foreign Direct Investment were boosted from US$24.9
million as at 2007 to over US$ 35 billion by 2014 and
virtually all quoted companies doubled in size, assets
and profit.

* Jonathan's administration rendered over 25,000
kilometers of federal road motorable from barely 5,000
Kilometers as at 2011.

* Began work on second Niger bridge and Loko-Oweto
bridge over river Benue.

* Nigerian railways was resuscitated from a 30-years old
coma with over 3, 500 kilometers of lines operational.

* 22 airports remodeled to meet International standards
and five International ones namely Lagos, Abuja,
Portharcourt, Kano and Enugu.

* Agricultural transformation agenda made it possible to
now export Cassava and increasingly attain 60% self-
sufficiency in Rice production.

* The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United
Nations voted Nigeria the largest producer of Cassava in
the world.

* the Jonathan administration built six strategically-l
ocated perishable cargo airports in Ilorin, Jalingo, Jos,
Lagos, Makurdi and Yola in close proximity to Nigeria's
food baskets.

* Under Jonathan's administration Agriculture accounted
for 22% of Nigeria's GDP, more than Oil and Gas which
only account for 15.9 percent. Nigeria recorded more
than 50% reduction in food imports. Prior to his
Presidency, we had a food import bill of 1.4 trillion naira
but his policies reduced it to less than N700 billion.

* rehabilitation of 19 dams and construction of 14
irrigation projects - millions of Nigerian farmers are
engaging in all season farming across the country
except Boko Haram disturbed areas

* Jonathan’s administration resuscitated the Warri and
Portharcourt Refineries that were deliberated left to rust
and pine by preceding administrations.

* Power generation went up from some 2,000 megawatts
in 2011 to some 5,000 megawatts in 2014. More
independent power plants commission. nevertheless
there was sabotage by blowing up underwater gas
pipelines in then APC controlled states - Lagos and
Rivers states.

* Jonathan administration established 14 new
universities and 150 almajiri schools in 13 northern
states.
Under Jonathan administration there had been a 10
million increase in school enrollment in Nigeria.
* People-oriented projects under the Subsidy Re-
Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE - P)
which helped create 1.6 million Jobs in 2013.
*CNN Money projected that the fastest growing economy
in the world in 2015 will be China (7.3% growth);
followed by Qatar (7.1%) and then followed by Nigeria
(7%). this attests to the astute management of the
economy by the Jonathan administration under the
ministerial assistance of the world renown economist
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
(Igbo).
* Nigeria became the 23rd largest economy in the world
overtaken European countries like Belgium and Austria.
* In 2010 when Jonathan was acting president, life
expectancy in Nigeria was 47 years but by 2015 it was 54
years, an improvement of seven years.
* Maternal Mortality ratio in Nigeria was reduced by 26%
* Under Jonathan, Nigeria had become Guinea-worm-fre
e; a disease previously affecting 800,000 Nigerians
yearly. Polio was extinguished from Nigeria as no new
cases were detected in the last nine months of his
administration. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world
and humanitarian philantropist hailed Nigeria's fight
against polio as one of the great world achievements of
2014.
* Between 2012 and 2015 the United nations Conference
on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) ranked Nigeria as
the number one country for foreign investment with the
fourth highest rate of returns on investments in the
world. This was inspite of security challenges from
Islamic Jihadists from the north.
* In 2010, when Jonathan came to power, Aliko Dangote
(Hausa) was the 463rd richest man in the world with a
total fortune of $2.1 billion. Jonathan's policies and
support made him the 23rd richest man in the world with
a total of $25 billion.
* Transparency International in 2010 ranked Nigeria
134th out of 178 countries in corruption. Under Obasanjo
Nigeria was 1st, 3rd and remain one of the most corrupt
in the world.
* By instituting the e-payment system, Jonathan's
administration sanitized the civil service by removing
50,000 ghost workers in one fell swoop. The
administration also got rid of ghost voters from the
electoral register; over 1 million ghost voters were
removed from Zamfara INEC register alone.
* Under Jonathan's administration Free and Fair
elections were conducted in Edo, Anambra, Ondo, Ekiti
and Osun.
* Under Jonathan's administration Nigeria won the
African Cup of Nations and Under 17 World.
* Jonathan’s government for the first time in Nigeria
conducted an election in which the opposition won and
handed over power without incident.
#Those who fought Jonathan will soon be on their knees
to beg him and ask forgiveness. It is very unfortunate
that under 8 months, Buhari APC government has ran
Nigeria's economy aground. Buhari APC government has
really messed Nigeria up Nigeria and the Lying
information minister Mr Lai Muhammed is not even
helping matters at all. He is busy lying to Nigerians
everyday about state of the economy. May God salvage
Nigeria from Buhari APC clueless government#

2. THE IJAW PEOPLES: Ijaw (also known by the subgroups " Ijo" or " Izon "wink are a collection of peoples indigenous mostly to the forest regions of the Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States within the Niger Delta in Nigeria . Some are resident in Akwa- Ibom, Edo , and Ondo states also in Nigeria . Many are found as migrant fishermen in camps as far west as Sierra Leone and as far east as Gabon along the Western Africa coastline and the Dakolo Family that migrated from Ghana notable from the family is Timi Dakolo . The Ijo population is estimated to be over 10 million people. They have long lived in locations near many sea trade routes, and they were well connected to other areas by trade as early as the 15th century. [2] The former President of Nigeria , Goodluck Jonathan , is an Ijaw. Language Main article: Ijoid languages The Ijaw speak nine closely related Niger– Congo languages , all of which belong to the Ijoid branch of the Niger– Congo tree. The primary division between the Ijo languages is that between Eastern Ijo and Western Ijo, the most important of the former group of languages being Izon , which is spoken by about ten million people. There are two prominent groupings of the Izon language. The first, termed either Western or Central Izon (Ijaw) consists of Western Ijaw speakers: Ekeremor , Sagbama (Mein) , Bassan, Apoi , Arogbo, Boma (Bumo), Kabo (Kabuowei) , Ogboin, Tarakiri, and Kolokuma-Opokuma (Yenagoa ). [citation needed ] Nembe , Brass and Akassa (Akaha) dialects represent Southeast Ijo (Izon). [citation needed]. Buseni and Okordia dialects are considered Inland Ijo. [ citation needed] The other major Ijaw linguistic group is Kalabari . Kalabari is considered an Eastern Ijaw language but the term "Eastern Ijaw" is not the normal nomenclature. Kalabari is the name of one of the Ijaw clans that reside on the eastern side of the Niger- Delta (Abonnema, Buguma, Bakana, Degema etc.) who form a major group in Rivers State, hence their involvement in the fight for greater oil control. Other "Eastern" Ijaw clans are the Okrika, Ibani (the natives of Bonny, Finima and Opobo) and Nkoroo . They are neighbours to the Kalabari people in present-day Rivers State, Nigeria . Other related Ijaw subgroups which have distinct languages but very close kinship, cultural and territorial ties with the rest of the Ijaw are the Epie- Atissa , Engenni (also known as Ẹgẹnẹ), and Degema (also called Udekama or Udekaama). [3] These groups speak Delta Edoid languages . The Ogbia clan, Andoni people , as well as residents of Bukuma and Abuloma ( Obulom ) speak Cross River languages .[ citation needed] It was discovered in the 1980s that a nearly extinct Berbice Creole Dutch , spoken in Guyana, is partly based on Ijo lexicon and grammar . Its nearest relative seems to be Eastern Ijo, most likely Kalabari (Kouwenberg 1994). Origin Their settlement in the delta was from the earliest of times. Unfortunately not much is known about this period, only that traditionally it is said that these early ancestors “dropped from the sky” (i.e. to say the Orus were of divine origin), and were devotees of a spiritual culture that made much use of the waters (hence the mermaid and water people legends “Beni-Otu”) They were later to be joined by other ancestors “Kumoni- Orus” from about 400 CE, and 650 CE (AD), who, after settling first in the Nupe and Borgu regions, then the Ile-Ife region, moved to the Benin region via Nupe, and Ife. [4] In the Benin region they eventually settled and launched expeditions into the Niger Delta, where they came across remote settlements of the Orus, whom they termed “ancient people”. But because they were also ultimately Oru, from the beginning they established communities as one people. The Ijos were known by the two names of Kumoni or Oru up till the time of the 19th century. European visitors noted the name Oru as a distinct term for Ijaw. Likewise the compilers of the Izon/English dictionary noted that “to speak Kumoni is to speak pure Izon language”. The term Ijo (Ijaw) or Izon evolved as the name of the whole ethnic nationality through time, even though as a personal name it derived from one ancestor who was known as Ujo, whom as we have previously mentioned, represents the time when the Ijos evolved as a distinct separate people from their neighbours.[4]
