So recent Biafran protests have got me thinking, but I have been skeptical about airing my views because of perceived reactions. DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE PERSONAL VIEWS, AND I, IN NO WAY CLAIM SUPREMACY OF KNOWLEDGE. FOR THE "GREYS" WHO THINK I AM TOO YOUNG TO SPEAK OF THIS SUBJECT, PLEASE PERMIT THIS CHILD TO SPEAK, THEN CORRECT HIM IF HE IS WRONG. FOR IGNORANCE CAN ONLY BE KNOWN IF IT IS AIRED, AND CAN ONLY BE CORRECTED IF IT IS KNOWN. My points are as follows: 1. According to worldometers the median age of Nigeria is 17.8, hence an "average " did not experience the civil war. 2.This is the age statistics of Nigeria as at 2014 is as follows: 0-14 years: 43.2% 15-24 years: 19.3% 25-54 years: 30.5% 55-64 years: 3.9% 65 years and over: 3.1% (indexmundi.com) In simpler statistics 93% of Nigerians were 5 and below in 1967. 3. According to Wikipedia, youth age range is between 18-35. Hence no present day Nigerian youth saw the civil war. My first question: since over 90% percent of us neither saw the civil war nor participated actively, and our youth were born 10 years after the war, where is all the hate and agitation from? 4. The major driving force of Biafra is the igboland, but the Biafran map includes states like Cross river, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom state. This makes Biafra a culturally diverse state. I am igbo and i currently live in Akwa Ibom state, and we share no similarity in custom or language. How then can we live together as "one Biafra" when we can't tolerate the cultural diversity of Nigeria. 5. The Igbo tribe would become the majority tribe in Biafra, while the others who constitute the oil producing states hence the 'rich boys' would become minority. "How can the wealth most especially that from oil be distributed, when the majority is in power and the minority have the resource?" So therefore, a time may come when the "minority" may decide to be free, because no man wants to live in another man's shadow. 6. Igbos are generally regarded as traders, and the lifeblood of their markets like Onitsha Main market and Ariaria international market is found in Lagos seaport where most of the goods come from. In Biafra, Lagos becomes another country hence tax and import/ export levies would increase drastically and logistics would become more difficult. The other option is to trade via the Calabar Port, Delta Port or Rivers Port at Port Harcourt, and Onne. These ports are only found in the non-igbo states, hence another potential challenge. 7. What happens to Biafrans that have their livelihood rooted deeply in non biafran states? What happens to the igbos that constitute the majority of Alaba international market? Would naturalization take place or would they liquidate assets and return to Biafra and start afresh? 8. Finally, the question of rulership. Who rules Biafra? Currently, most Igbo people especially those in Abia and Imo state are dissatisfied with the condition of their states. They complain of bad government, massive looting, poor infrastructures etc, and they are currently ruled by Igbo governors. If Biafra is formed who would rule then? I believe it would be the same people that they complain of, and as you can see the cycle of pain and complaints would continue. Problems are fixed by inward reflections not outward projections and blame shifting. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME, FOR A CHILD WHO DID NOT SEE THE WAR HAS SPOKEN. |

dilapidated/collapsing State Of No 90 Agege Mottor Road. Hoodlum Inhabitant Fellow nairalander. Pls forgive my bad phrasing . I have been on this platform for a while , and i know people do complain about bad infrastructures , social amenities and on,before u know it actions will be taken on such complain. To tell you the power of social media in this era. I have come to make a complain on No 90 agege mottor road mushin lagos . Situated at Agip bus stop i.e opposite a new nnpc filling stating and it is off Matuwo street. This is a house that has been in a dilapidated condition for over 20 years and yet Govment has been able to do nothing about it .this house has been the hudlums inhabitant for so long that all manners of activities are been carried out at night. Such as extorting , raping , even rubbery at times. This is is a place where all kinds of illicit drugs are sold and all kinds of deadly weapon can be found . And day by day the number or hudlums thrives on this street call Matuwo street all becaus of this house. We have made several complaint. The land lord association of Matuwo street and other street around took there complain to alausa at LASEPA office 2 years ago, But all did not yield any result. We latter get to know that one of the sons of the deceased i.e the owner of the property , was in the past administration, That is working directly with fashola. And with this notting could be done. Governmnet officials has been on that site times without number, even we will hear they have given ultimaton to demolish the building. But nothing still will be done. This building has contributed allot the rate at witch criminal activities thrives in mushin most especially Matuwo street. As a result of hudlums and deadly Wepon . Talk about alakara polis station very close to this house. This is a no go area because even some of the police officials are sighted smoking weed with this boys. So there is nothing they can do to them. This is a case of past incidence on the news. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/2-killed-others-injured-as-hoodlums-unleash-mayhem-in-mushin/ http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/two-killed-as-hoodlums-clash-over-n1m-gift/ The most amaizing part of the whole thing is that , this street full of hudlums is one of the major street that leads to our ex Governor secondary school babatunde fashola. Birch freeman high school and also a Govment primary school in that street too. Imagine the young one going to school in the morning and then sighting a bad example of someone holding and smoking an heavily loaded weed. This is not good for the environment and also is not good for the sake of the leaders of tomorrow . I am using this opportunity to beg the state governor Governor ambode and other government officials in charge to pls help us do something about this building .as our mind is not at rest. Our lives are in danger . And more so this building could collaps any moment from now. Am also using this opportunity to beg who ever is in charge on nairaland to please help to save our life and help us lead to the front page. So the whole word will know what we are facing. Thank u. Your candid advice will also be usefull. Thank u Photo: 1 front view of the house Photo2 : back view of the house Photo 3: side view of the house Photo 4 : some hudlums arround

I think the weight of the stone is far more than the balance we might get |
shullamite:Bross can u do one and let see? |
For those of u talking about balancing. I think u need to take a second look of that picture. Even if it were to be ordinary stick. That stick am looking at, is not straight enough to make a balance on the glass. Pls we need a better scientific proof. |
Pangea:I laff in chinco! |
7footre:How true is that? Lol |
Has anyone has the scientic proof for it yet ? |
agarawu23:Yes i do. But some of chris performace are beyound normal imagination |
ikbnice:I dont think so. As d cup is transparrent. I took a severall closer look. Infact i almost touched it |
agarawu23:Thanks bro. But i think behind every magic, there is always a trick . Yay! I made my first front page ever.thanks to the mods and nairalanders |
Fellow nairalander. I was checking out a trend on nairaland of how a guy levitated at Ikeja, that brought about people staring for hours. Later the magic was busted and It was explained that the guy actually sat on a kind of chair that you can not see even with a closer look. That now remind me of what I saw in new Delhi (India ) when I went for a course. It's a huge stone tied to a stick, and the stick is sitting on a glass cup. It amazes me a lot every time I look at this picture. And there is this question that always comes to my mind . Could this be magic or science? Though I don't believe in magic but I need someone who can scientifically proof this to me or else I believe in magic once and for all if there is no proof for it. Thank yoy all.
