kingphilip: That was on super eagles players most of the time and even though it was annoying, it was within what the thread is set up to discuss - The Super Eagles so person no fit vex much.
But at least we've started discussing super eagles now with transfers, u20 and the newbies we're expecting by September/October. You should know it's normal. Our discussions here are sometimes seasonal. There are so many WC arguments, debates and analysis here while the tourney was going on. It's normal to deviate. And there's nothing about super eagles you want us to say that we have not said before. If this thread is focus solely on Super eagles, here won't be lively. Peace |

So no, I am not a newbie as you think. haa then you must have been here during Forg.i.veness vs The.good.joe argument era. 😂😂 Na that one gangangan be arguments. Not this playful banter. |

kingphilip: It is really shocking bros
I am just scrolling through the thread now because of useless arguments that won't better the Super Eagles.
A sensible thing to do is if someone isn't agreeing with you, drop your opinion and move on but they're just dropping useless comparison takes here.
Hopefully normalcy returns soon as it is over 24 hours the World Cup ended.
Hopefully semid4lyf starts deleting and banning them after now because I'm not seeing the relevance of the comparison to this thread. You must be a newbie. |

Shegzdave: I’m happy for him and hope it’s not like GJ kinda fitness where he’s fit during break only to go back when season begins
I know he’s got a chemistry with Bukayo on that wing but I feel it’s high he left sha cause am skeptical of his injury problems lest it becomes a reoccurring one leaving us a short one every season I hope so too. Calafiori and White are two defenders that give us a big advantage at the final third. Hopefully, they stay fit this season. |

ChrisKels: Our mission was clear and direct;
- Deny Ronaldo any opportunity to win a world cup because we don't ever want to have him in any world cup winners conversation ever.
- Crown the mini GOAT a world cup champion to kill the "Mbappe won the world cup at 19" talk or get the GOAT a second world cup Gold medal to further cause pains to the wannabe from Portugal.
At the end, the missions were accomplished and we are happy watching and reading you deluded fellows from the other camp grasping at straws but one thing remains Paramount, your okoro will never smell a world cup trophy neither would he ever be mentioned when we are talking about the top three which are Messi>Pele>Maradona.
By the way, looking at the picture below, as long as the most prestigious football event in the world is concerned, Yamal>>>>>>>Ronaldo. If you are hurt, hit back with a photo of Ronaldo like this, that isn't AI.🤣😂 😂😂😂 |

You can attach emotions o fanboyism
But there's no way you can back Ronaldo in a Messi Vs Ronaldo debate and you'll not lose
Emotions will only make it worse because you'd start talking out of point I was bantering one Ororo fan yesterday, na so the guy bring Instagram followers as metric. I first laugh. He con shift to individual awards, I brought BDR. He shift to international trophy, Na so I bring WC. 😂😂😂😂 He never reply since. Thing is those people can't take what they dished out. From the day Portugal won Euros till the night Argentina won Copa America, it's terrible. Now dem don dey use block button on Nairaland. 😂😂 |

Odunayaw: Maradona isn't. Winning at a younger age isn't a point, neither is "he had more charisma" nor the nostalgia of an emotional country winning a WC after losing the Falkland war to England.
The thing he did with Napoli is the only thing Messi didn't do. But meh, winning Leagues cup with Inter Miami is not small too. Actually, Maradona and Pele navigated a lot of tackles that Messi wouldn't survive in today's football. 😂😂😂 |

TheSuperNerd: Eric Chelle's Super Eagles stats so far...
25 games 16 wins 5 draws 4 losses
https://x.com/i/status/2079150577464815948
The 4 losses include 2 CHAN games with the Home based Eagles. The other 2 losses were friendlies vs Egypt (Pre-Afcon) and Portugal (Pre-WC).
I have been made to understand that the Super Eagles September/October list will be quite interesting. Yea.. About time we revamp that squad. |

Napoleon55: No doubt his dominance over Argentina and over France especially, he was one of the major reason Spain went this far,I wish one day Nigeria could produce a midfielder like this.
But nothing anyone here would say to me that Messi or Mbappe with over 10 goal contributions each does not deserve to win the award over a player with a zero direct goal contributions, it's unheard of also. So if Argentina had won, even with Messi scoring or not scoring, would there have been any arguments at all whether he deserve it or not?
Congrats to Rodri and Spain.
They just didn't want Messi to bow out in glory,he was a frustrated man yesterday. Ask him what would have happened to the tiki taka if Merino had not scored two late goals twice. Leave them make dem dey hide behind tikitaka |

germaphobe: if we can go for vini and pay 100m for him, it would be better than wasting it on english overhyped players. Vini and Arteta in the same team? Lolololo That's one transfer I don't really believe it can or will happen. |

germaphobe: @ Mostob mosquera isn't just learning, he has proved that he can be a good cb in all his appearance last season. I can't right him off due to that ucl final error out of his natural position. There's a reason why we all was skeptical about him playing RB in the final and it happened. Yes White and Timber injury is there, why not go for a RB instead?. Saliba won't be going for surgery as the initial fears was, he just needs rest to be back. But my own is that 60m for konsa is not ideal. Position and versatility are two key things I look out for when I'm assessing transfer targets. Saliba and Gabriel are the only two natural CBs in that squad. We need one more. We need a specialist in that backline that can deputize for both. I would have agreed we go for a natural RB if not for recurring injuries suffered by White, Calafiori and Timber. |

germaphobe: i share same thoughts about him. To me he's like a low budget Eze with potential. What ever they want us to believe he can do, Eze can do that too. We need to seek real profiles for the positions we are lacking, not packing players up and down.
I feel the same way about konsa that we are also romancing with. We have Mosquera and Ben white to fill in as cb, Timber will also be back and that will have us with a more than needed personels when saliba returns too. So why go for a 60m konsa when we can get a less value option who's young still and won't be just a quick fix. The pressure of winning a big project is off now a bit, so Arteta should trust his champions more and rotate often. White has been dealing with recurring injury. Timber is dealing with injury too. Mosquera is still learning and can't be depend on. |

Odunayaw: There's nothing (except the fights ) he has done that Messi hasn't both club and country. Only his feat of taking an obscure Napoli to reckoning in Europe hasn't been matched and that's about it.
Merely doing it longer, 3 finals as the main man and hopefully winning a 2nd WC makes any case for Maradona mere nostalgia. We did it at Inter Miami. |
