TheSuperNerd: Jorginho's DLP profile offers Arteta a unique option in the #6 role. Truly, Physicality is the one big trait Jorginho doesn't have compared to Arsenal's First Choice in Thomas Partey but his Midfield conducting abilities in the 1st and 2nd phases of buildup plays could even help mask this lack of physical assertiveness because an Arsenal with a Jorginho in an arteta system will likely sustain possession across all phases of play for the most parts "depending" on the opposition.
You must understand, Arteta have made 3 signings in 3 areas of the team that needed some cover. CB - Kiwior, Wings - Trossard and now #6 - Jorginho. .
Arteta knows that if you gunners must be Champions by May, then quality depth for the run-in is needed.
In the summer, Arsenal will go for their true long term targets.
Trust your man, Mikel. Trust the process. 😉 You summed it up already. Let me just take a backseat and start observing. |

Spy360: 1. I don't think this is correct. Jorginho is mostly used to a back 3 and a diamond midfield where he plays as the base. In an Arteta set up he can play as the lone DM but more importantly as one to break the press.
2. Totally agree
3. Physical but not fast. In terms of speed, I actually prefer someone who reads the game than one who is fast. Jorginho reads the game better than most modern DM. Though stats means little and don't tell the whole story, but they give you some clues. Different system, different player. Jorginho usually has a runner as his partner at Chelsea in Kovacic and Kante. He wouldn't get that at Arsenal as Xhaka and Ode will be a bit far from him. Part of Partey's function is the efficient ball-winning which I don't think Jorginho has in his bank. |

TheSuperNerd: Is this Sarcasm?
I think Arsenal are still primed for the title until something crazy happens in terms of squad injuries (which is what no one wants).
Jorginho is your quality cover for the #6 role plus his passing game and Spatial Awareness in the 1st and 2nd phase of buildup plays could take Arsenal's possession-heavy approach a notch higher.
I think Arteta knows what he's doing but yeah, it's a risk.
Long term, in the summer, I think you guys got eyes on Declan Rice or could go back in for Caicedo (also in the summer). Jorginho is a deep-lying playmaker. I don't doubt his technical ability but his physicality and defensive awareness is what worries me. God forbid Partey is unavailable for an important match, relying on Jorginho as a lone DM is suicidal for the team. Well, I'll just watch as events unfold. On a bright side, Arteta's signings (White, Ramsdale..) have always been controversial and questionable but they always end up proving the fans wrong. Let's hope Jorginho is one of them. There were rumours Arteta wanted him when he (Arteta) was still at City but Jorginho joined Chelsea. |

Sambi was supposed to seize this opportunity o. And Elneny, injury wey no trouble you all these years, na now wey we need you e start. And Brighton noma mumu club too... selfishness and covetousness go soon destroy them.
Positives from this signing... 1. It's a stop-gap signing. 2. He may not play much. His appearance will mostly be in UEL 3. We will now have the time to get the major signing in Summer. 4. It is an Arteta's signing. His signings have been proving us wrong lately.
Negatives 1. Jorginho can't function effectively as a lone DM 2. Zero goal threat. assist sef na once in a year 3. Neither physical nor fast |

Imagine a self-aclaimed widely traveled man writing trash everyday on a public forum. Mahrez, Sala, Saka, Robben... How often do you see these guys put in crosses from the by-line when playing? But because hate has blinded you, you just have to use an unfounded theory to pull down Chukwueze. |

Danielnino00: Stop capping... Lookman is two footed..he can use both feet well..
Basic requirements in academy bla bla.... The academy can't alter your genetic makeup from teaching you how to do this and that.. Some players are predominantly left footed just like we have people who are predominantly left handed..
Salah and Robben are two players who are predominantly left footed and played on the right wing for most of their careers just like Chukwueze..they hardly cross...they cut into the box and lay passes...
Go to an academy and ask left footed players who play left back to start playing on yhe the right and be delivering crosses if it was the easy... You know, I sometimes wonder if the guy is really what he claimed to be. Some of his posts are sometimes nauseating. |

AkinDS: Unless the NFF appealed the Refs decision, both reds were a resultant of 'violent conduct', judging by the nature of fouls. Therefore the suspension is 3 consecutive games. Both ladies sat out the Zambia game, meaning they have 2 more games to serve.
Since there are no FIFA sanctioned competitions or games lined up before the world cup, looks like both women will have to sit out our first 2 games. Violent Conduct? J don't think so. Just an African ref playing to the script. |

1. Halimatu Ayinde 27yrs…. DM/CM or Box2Box 2. Regina Otu 26yrs… DM/Box2Box 3. Christy Ucheibe 22yrs… DM/Box2Box 4. Ngozi Okobi 29yrs… AM/W 5. Tony Payne 27yrs… AM/FB/W 6. Onyi Echegini 21yrs…. AM/W
Are more than enough for the team right now with Rasheedat Ajibade as alternative from the forwards..
You guys shouldn’t forget the Red Card to Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde during the WAFCON semifinals
Alternate Options Peace Efih 22yrs…AM/W Rita Chikwelu 34yrs... DM/CM Deborah Abeodun 19yrs… DM/Box2Box Amanda Mbadi 24yrs…. DM I agree but remove chikwelu It is time Rita leaves the scene for the young generation. |

AkinDS: My bad (and thanks for the correction). The inclusion of Debbie Abiodun is based on her recent invitations for the high profile friendlies against the US and Japan, which she played and had a decent performance. Looks like she, alongside Demehin and Imuran are the 3 ex-U20 players being fast tracked into the SF. Whether or not she makes the final team is a different story. I think you need to consider other reasons apart from the friendly invitations. Most of the regulars were not available, probably why she was called up. We are short of options at the Defence department right now which works for Tosin and Imuran. Debbie can't make the squad right now, not because she is not good but due to the fact that a lot of good players are ahead of her. Infact, one of two foreign pros will even be considered before her in case there is a need for replacement. |
