Jodera: Lol... I would be surprised if he makes it here sha. Maybe 2-3years ago, I would have believed in his redemption but not now.
Our team is fast outpacing his abilities unfortunately Which is baffling because he has everything he needs to make it. Man is just so casual. |

I hate bashing a player most especially when he's not playing his primary or secondary position I also hate bashing player. I was just so angry at him yesterday. You should have seen how i shouted at him to close down Ake just before that goal. |

Even when they did for tavarez that one no wan hear word Gbam..you don talk am finish. Sambi no wan learn...same problem with Pepe. Xhaka don improve, Martinelli and Saka are now better than before. These people no get two head. Instead of Sambi to work hard, he was whining about inadequate game time. Just look at the way he went to the dressing room immediately without applauding the fan. |

Jodera: The best way for Lokonga to rediscover himself is by playing away from that DM position. Yesterday, even his progressive passes and movement was found wanting, something associated with lack of confidence and match rustiness.
I don't know if he might get the kind of Xhaka's redemption here cos of the amount/caliber of midfielders coming through but I'll be glad if he can pull it through like Xhaka, else I'll just wish him all the best away from here. He better buckle up. Even that CM spot ain't sure. ESR and Xhaka are his current competitors. Then If Patino comes back next season, e don red for am. Sambi's problem is not confidence, it is his rigidity. Same problem as Pepe. |

Jodera: Lol .. it's not about protection but doing the right thing.
One of the big reasons why there's bond and unity amongst all our players instead of rife Is the ability for them to stand by each other publicly if any of them made a mistake. I remember Saliba did an own goal against Leicester and Odegaard walked up to him to reassure him. Gabriel did a grave mistake against Fulham two matches later and he even admitted that the reassurance and confidence his brothers (as he himself called them) gave him was what gave him strength to carry on enabling him to even go for that winner. Should we talk last season about same Gabriel mistake against wolves where he wanted to apologize for his mistake and Ramsdale told him to forget about it and move on.
Why then would it now feel right to criticize Sambi openly? Why then should his own be different? Nice point. But you failed to add the fact that those players you used as examples have given us maximum performances in the past. I stand by Ode abeg even though he shouted in frustration. We dey try win ball back, you didn't mark...you didn't stay in position and you call yourself a midfielder. Nonsense. |

Shegzdave: That act by Ordegaard might just kill the little confidence Lokonga had. Even though I don’t really believe in that boy filling Partey shoes, the pitch wasn’t the best place to correct him being the captain.
The dude didn’t wait to clap the fans, he went straight into the dressing room after the match even when the players were clapping the fans ... I wouldn't blame Ode. For about a minute, Sambi didn't mark, didn't stay in position which means all the efforts of our forwards to win the ball back were futile. We're chasing the game and we needed to win the ball back ASAP. |

Remember what I told you about Ake. That guy is growing fast. Did you notice how he took out Saka? Saka was totally lost today with Ake on him.
Ake also drifted to the midfield repeatedly with ease and also put in some good overlapping runs. He was fantastic in the air. Hardly dribbled and was hardly off position. He was also brilliant with his passes. Clearly the best player on the field tonight. Saka was not totally lost. I expected you to understand the tactic both teams used. |

Roland17: Me and you watch Odegaard week in week out and you are renowned for reminding us when he is indifferent and having poor games. At anytime, have we seen Partey, Xhaka or Gabu yell at him. There is no excuse for Odegaard’s behavior. If another player did that, I would care less but your captain? at one of your young players? That’s a big no!
Again, this is my opinion. But Ode's poor games always come once in a while. Even at that, he can't be totally poor. His pressing and positioning will still be there. But Sambi.... |

Roland17: While Awilo had a bad game, I was very disappointed by Odegaard's shocking reaction on the pitch, especially when you consider he is the captain of this team. I am not holding forth for his performance but the pitch was not the right place to throw your team mate under the bus. He easily could have waited for a break to have a teaching moment with the kid, not the silly tantrum he was throwing on the pitch against Awilo.
Awilo is a young player who needs tutelage and support to help as he develops and what Odegaard displayed on the pitch was very irresponsible in my opinion. He has successfully pitched the young kid against Arsenal fans and this may totally mar any confidence he has left...many, never recover from that. We have seen several games where Odegaard was poor and looked different, even before he became captain and no one, including hot head Xhaka gave him an earful.
Odegaard had a unique opportunity to exhibit true leadership qualities and he failed woefully in my opinion. Young players need support as they try to work through their mistakes, not what Odegaard displayed on the pitch today. I hope Awilo can use this experience to motivate himself and work on his game.
We shouldn't have gotten him in the first place but eating him out like that in public was bad. He needs join a team on loan that can offer him competitive playing time so he can build his confidence and mentality. I understand your point bro but I won't blame Ode. Sambi has been training with Arteta for more than a year now yet doesn't understand basic positioning. He was ball watching for their goal and his bad positioning made it difficult to press City. It is just emotion but I won't blame Ode. |

Jodera: I just knew that Partey would have injury since it's unlike Arteta to sub him out at halftime when we were playing beautifully. Cos there's no logical reason why he would be subbed out just to put in Lokonga that he never rated this season

Actually, it's not a debate of whether it is offside or not. The main problem is inconsistency of the officials.
Sanchez's goal in our FA cup win stood despite Ramsey being offside.
Everton's goal against United last season was ruled out because an Everton player who was offside adjusted his leg so the ball could pass through.
United's goal against City stood..
And now, the inconsistency showed today. |
