AndSunGorilla: While I respect Keshi, that was the major drawback he had, I can't defend his bench, I won't lie, it made no sense. Yes he was positive, never feared any opponents, a good motivator but he just didn't select the right players to be on the bench. And to think there were better players left at home. chai |

fabyom: Onazi was intentionally injured! Same way the Italians intentionally took out Amuneke and Amokachi at the 1994 World cup second round! It irks me when peeps disparage or belittle the Super Eagles. I was so sad that day. The most painful was the yellow card shown to Matuidi...that was a red card offence FFS |

fabyom: This Senegalese team reminds me of our 2014 team. What a team that was!
Qualified to the second with some nerve racking and determined performances. Gave France a game of its life and even had a goal controversially ruled out for offside! The French victory was aided by the referee and negative football.
This Senegalese team will give England a scare. Now that we have VAR unlike 2018, I do hope it will not be manipulated to favor the English.
Sarr against Tripper will be mouth watering! We lost that game because of our weak bench. Onazi got injured but there was not even an average replacement on the bench. Only God knows where we get that Ruben Gabriel from. |

chrisooblog: I suspect it might be a parody news setup but even if it was true FIFA has a microchip in all the balls that can sense touch and they have confirmed there was zero response from the ball once it went past Ronaldo's head. Adidas already did the analysis. It was confirmed CR7 didn't touch the ball.

The Portuguese Federation are going to present evidence to FIFA to prove that the first goal against Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo’s not Bruno Fernandes.
Source: El Chiringuito TV
See pettiness at it's peak. I wonder what must be going through Bruno's mind right now.
The fake GOAT was even gesturing at the officials after half time asking why he goal was not awarded to him. |

yinkeys: Modern Brazil team can’t do much without Neymar However I think G. Jesus should fill that role behind the striker because he drops back a lot
2002 Brazil team is the best squad their country ever produced. It had 4 ballon d’or winners in there Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho & Kaka.
I can also remember Cafu, Roberto Carlos in that squad. Jesus can't play behind the striker. Don't let the way he plays at arsenal confuse you. |

AndSunGorilla: Abeg any other gist about the Onana wahala? ESPN said he disagreed with Song because of his defensive formations. I read somewhere else that it's because Song wants him to stay more in the box, traditional goalkeeping than the Higuita and now modern day goalkeeper/sweeper style.
Onana has antecedents though, I recalled he didn't play in the ANC they won, chose Ajax over Cameroun. I think they should blacklist him from their NT. I think it is not totally his fault. The major reason he was dropped is probably because of his remark about Eto'o. And then, while his coach want him to be ballooning the ball anywhere anyhow, Onana would rather calm down and build up the ball from the back (check the picture below) I see nothing wrong with both scenarios though.
