Spy360: Wicked Pep don teach all of them say na Arteta weak point It shouldn't have been a weak point if you have someone like Giroud up front. I miss Merino sha. Havertz is good but falls easily. With due respect to Gyokeres, making the ball stick at the final third is not just his game. Bypassing the 4-2-4 would have been so easy. Raya go long... Striker knock it down.. We win the second ball and we go on attack from there. |

daveP: For this tactic stuff, i actually predicted such a day will come if we don't have plan A, B and C in the bag to confuse opponents. Just on game from Pep and suddenly there's mental flux.to make us know that coach carry a large % of this problem
Just swap out Arteta with 3-4 managers and tell me if they won't be fiery than we currently are
Luis Enrique Andoni Iraola Cesc Fabregas Maresca
3/4 will offer some freedom currently not seen this season
2/4 will fill up the midfield creativity issues in 1st season, breaking the bank if they had to
2/4 will play to strength of the current squad
1/4 will find like for like replacement for Xhaka, Partey and Odegaard
2/4 will turn Saka and Nelli to double figures goals, without stripping them of their trademark strengths.
Backpasses will disappear with 3/4 of them.
We are in a mental fix right now.
Man City game will decide if we'll get that title.
Even if we end up clinching the EPL and/or UCL, a lot need to change with our managers tactical and squad management You need to calm down while analysing. The only good manager there is Henrique. I'm sure you mentioned Andoni because his team beat us on Saturday. Same way Chelsea fans believed Potter was the next best thing after Alex Ferguson due to his performance at Brighton. There was a time De Zerbi's name was circulating here. Cesc and Enzo will likely go Arteta way. They're rookies. League is a marathon. Football dey sweet till second half of the season beckons. |

purplekayc: I think it's the pressure of pursuing several trophies at the same time that has put arsenal in a lot of pressure that they have become tired mentally to handle all at ounce or what?
https://dailypost.ng/2026/04/12/epl-arsenal-give-arteta-conditions-to-escape-sack/ They're letting the pressure get to them. Funny thing is they know what they should do going by their interviews. Gabriel Jesus especially said something during the international break. He said the players sometimes need to take initiative while on pitch. But this man go enter pitch go dey play rubbish. And, it's an Arsenal thing. BTW, the article may not be true. They're preparing another contract for Arteta. The guy is staying unless he resigns. |

If we talk, they will say we're Arteta fans. Fact still remain that the issue Arsenal is currently battling transcends tactics. This is the same team, the same coach that got us here. What happened? Of course, same thing that's peculiar to Arsenal teams of yesteryears. It's as if the team left something behind at Highbury. They left Highbury without taking along their fearlessness and mentality that made them Invincibles.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't see this team leaving Ethiad with a single point unless something switch on in their heads. I'm an Arsenal fan to the core. Like my blood practically bleed Arsenal. You can imagine how I must have felt when Mourinho called Arsene Wenger a specialist in failure at the eve of our match against Chelsea. What did these players do? They went to Stamford bridge to lose 6-0. They shipped in 1, 2, 3,...6 goals.
Football is won on the pitch. Tactic without execution is nothing. Everybody is free to start their #Artetaout campaign. It's a free world. But we will be here by the special grace of God. |

I want the boys to do everything to win ghid match ; I learnt Eze is fit and may feature in today's match which should be a boost for us.

BlueRayDick: Baba mi, I fully understand the analogy you are trying to draw with that 2014 scenario you are painting. I watched the 2014 FA cup from start to final and I can boldly tell you Fabianski was a better keeper than Kepa has been.
I have watched Kepa over the years, I watched him at Chelsea in a cup final and also watched him in Arsenal colors. I knew right from day one that starting him in the final will spell a disaster for us and it did. I put up a post days before the match that Arteta shouldn't make the mistake of starting him ahead of Raya for that cup final as a reward of some sorts. Unfortunately, Areta thought otherwise and his howler led to the first goal.
I always mention how Kepa struggled to control his area how he's less dominant in aerial balls. There's no way Raya was going to spill that ball that led led to city's first goal. I mean I still saw evidence in the die minutes of yesterday's match when Sporting crossed a dangerous ball into our box. Raya didn't attempt to catch the ball but punched it out of his area ferociously.
That cup final really pained me gan o. I admit we didn't create as many chances as we should've, but sometimes having a good defence line can spur you to a victory like we witnessed yesterday evening and games like Newcastle first leg. I agree with you Chief. Kepa is truly shaky. Everywhere go just dey scatter anytime he's between the stick. I just need this EPL by hook or crook. If they now win UCL eh. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 8:48am On Apr 08 |
BlueRayDick: I will always hold Arteta responsible for our loss to city in the Carabao cup final just by reason of starting Kepa in goal instead of Raya.
That shitty decision cost us a chance to compete favorably against city in the game. Losing against City was as a result of many flaws and surely, starting Kepa didn't top the list. Wenger was in the exact same scenario in 2014. Fabianki or Szczesny? The latter was the first choice but Fab got the nod to start. Note that we're chasing our first title in years. Guess what! Fab was the hero. He saved Wigan's first two kick which set the momentum in our favour. He started the final too and we won. Two truths can coexist. Let's say Raya started that match and we went on to lose with Raya getting injured, the narrative here would be why Arteta threw bigger trophies away by injuring his first choice goalie. I believe we lost against City because they're tactically superior that day and we showed no fight. Even Raya himself is not guilty of hollers (the draw against Wolves). |

BlueRayDick: Whites case is not rhythmic anything, gbag guy is finished. I've seen the signs already ; his positioning is off, players easily beat him to a pass and when he's progressing with the ball up field he just switches off. I like giving players benefit of doubt. Mine might be too much sef.. Lol Anyway, I hope he finds his feet soon for our own sake |

He has depreciated past playing at a top club like arsenal. I'm just waiting to see if it is a rhythm issue. BTW almost all our matches against Sporting have given us so many injuries. Saliba, Tomi and last season (can't remember) I'm just happy nobody was injured today. |
